Q:
I heard the beers are gluten removed?? Is that true?
A:
Yes, we use an enzyme during fermentation called DSM Clarex. It reduces the amount of gluten in the finished beer. We have gluten-sensitive customers that have no problems drinking our beers. Obviously, everyone's sensitivity is different, so drink… more

Walked into the brewery - smelled like a brewery. So far so good, I knew I was in the right place. The brewery was huge, had some awesome tables, and Duck Donuts was outside, serving up tasty goodness (my first time, don't judge me).
Me and a few friends showed up to participate in a puzzle competition, and so after we settled in, grabbed a couple beers, some pretzels, and shared a half dozen donuts, we were ready to get our puzzle on!
We grabbed the puzzle, and puzzled, wrapping up in 41 minutes, took some pictures, turned our puzzle in. We noted the time that we started and stopped, because we figured we did pretty good (41 minutes!), and went to grab the event coordinator.
She took our puzzle and time, nodded, checked, said thanks, and walked back behind the bar to write it down. Later on, without telling anyone who won and who didnt, she walked out! Passed us right by! We thought that was kinda odd, since we had talked to a bartender previously whom stated the the closest team to us was somewhere around 50 minutes.
Two hours later, Solace posted that the winning puzzle was 51 minutes, and somehow we hadn't won. The math wasn't mathing.
Now all that isn't really a problem, it was a fun competition and if someone beat us, I don't mind. But when we followed up and asked what happened, the lady behind the counter said that we had us at clocked in at an over an hour (1, false and we had pictures) and that she had already thrown away the sign in sheets that she had written things down on (2, who does that when there's money involved?), then shrugged and moved on with her life.
The beer was fine, but the dishonesty from the staff was disheartening. If you do go do a contest in the future, might as well bug the person running the event and make sure she acknowledges you, and you get your time written down. Its petty, I get it, but still disappointing.
I think that me and my group of five will not return to the brewery.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tabitha N.Downtown, Pittsburgh, PA02311Jan 5, 2024
Liked the arcade games! Mainly only played basketball & pacman. You get 100 credits for 5 dollars, and pay by card. Doesn't accept coins.
Came on a saturday, and was 2 of 6 people in the whole place which was surprising.
The whole place has a very strong musty smell. Bartender was nice!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 43314041451Jun 17, 2023
Good beer, but the actual space is cavernous and a bit void of any level of ambiance.
Beertenders are friendly and attentive.

We love going to Solace to chill: good food trucks and delish beer, arcade for kids. What else do you need in this life!

I visited for the first time and was impressed. They have a good variety of beer options. The place is very clean and the staff was nice. You can see into their brewing room which is cool. And they have pinball and a few other games. I would recommend trying if you're in the area.

If you want to adventure to Sterling you should stop by this chill brewery.
They have arcades! I didn't play as it was an event going on, however will go back to give it a try. The employees were knowledgeable and super friendly. I felt safe without my mask as tables were distance from each other.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 12, 2022
Damn good beer. If you Ike ipa's this is your place. What you can get in the store - party cloud or juicy Lucy is better on tap. Lots of seating. Kid area. No food. Has food trucks. Check website. Arcade machines are prevalent but loud.

Neat place with plenty of parking. It's actually a pretty large building and well decorated. Decent amount of beers on tap and wish I was able to try a flight. I really liked the Christmas Winterbock and will likely come back! Limited Bar seating but plenty of seating inside and a well priced beers! Also dog friendly. They do have a lot of IPAs on tap but other beers too for those who aren't a fan!
