11/9/20171 check-inIf you're looking for fantastic curated items for children, this is the first place you want to stop in at. They have small selections, but everything is fantastic. The thing is, you're paying for that curation. The prices will be a little bit higher than buying at other stores, or online. But don't you want that warm feeling that comes from supporting local businesses?
They also have plastic utensils for small children for a buck a piece. Can't knock that value. - Stephanie M.East York, Canada
2/24/20151 check-inI found them online and bought two pairs of onesies that were on clearance. So instead of paying for delivery you have the option of picking them up at their Junction location. Two days later I got the call my order was ready.
On a snowy Saturday I made the trek to the Junction to get them. It seems like a kid's store inside. Tight but tidy space.
I informed the girl who was working there that I was there to pick up my order. She stopped what she was doing and got my order. She offered me a bag to carry my pj's in. Then she went back to what she was doing. So I wouldn't say friendly, nor interested to see if there was anything else I needed.
So I said thanks and left. I guess I'll go back online to see if the have cotton onesies. - Theresa N.Georgetown, TX
12/29/2014Updated reviewI had high expectations for a onesie, and this product exceeded my expectations. My daughter's onesie is thick, very well made and fits wonderfully (almost 5'10" and the medium is perfect). She is always on the cold side, so this is great for her. She plans on wearing it camping too.
Be warned. These aren't inexpensive and I did kind of gulp at the price tag. But the way I figure, she'll have it for years as opposed to one or two years from another store. I love that's it's made in Canada.
I am so excited for her and I'm going to get my other daughter one for Christmas next year.
Snug as a Bug online was the ticket for me!!!!!
12/1/2014Previous reviewMy review is for the online ordering. I was having difficulty placing an order for an adult Onesie, so I had to call Customer Service. I spoke to a very nice lady by the name of Kathy on Dec. 1. My card wasn't being accepted, I kept getting a weird error (not a computer error, a website error). Kathy was extremely helpful, polite, congenial, and whatever other positive words could befit an excellent customer service representative. She tried to make my order over the phone. She too was getting the same error I was. She told me she would try several times over the course of the day and call me later. She did call me later, and was unsuccessful placing my order. I gave her another card and the order was accepted. We surmised that the only difference was the first card was a debit card, second card was credit. She was absolutely wonderful, went above and beyond normal customer service, never acted put out or put upon or even the slightest bit frustrated. I can't wait to receive my order. I will be updating my review once I get the product.
Kathy was absolutely stellar and I wish more customer service reps were like her, eh?Read more

4/7/2017I come here for all my friend's kids birthday presents. They have a wide selection of fun kids clothes and games! I even bought my daughter's first swimsuit here- it is the cutest, with little mermaids on it. Prices are pretty affordable and the selection is great! They are also helpful at helping you find the right purchase.

11/4/2013Cute kids boutique in the Junction.
Prices are obviously higher than getting kids stuff at Toys R Us or Walmart but if you need one or two special items, I think it's worth it. Case in point - I needed some warm winter mittens for the little one. Mittens that would be waterproof and would stay on.
I found Canadian-made MimiTens at Snug as a Bug and picked up a pair. At $23 for baby size and $26 for size 1-2, the mittens weren't cheap. Though the quality of the mittens were much better than anything I could find at the Gap or Old Navy. Warm hands for baby in the winter is worth the price.
Service was friendly and helpful. Saw the giant fat tabby cat and swore he was a real life Garfield. - Amy B.Toronto, Canada0 friends2 reviews
11/14/2014I brought my three year old son in to try on shoes. My son misbehaved by not wanting to try on shoes, trying to grab shoes, yelling, crying. We were the only ones in the store. I tried to keep everything under control and calm, he has Autism and these things can be difficult.
He did not break anything, he did not soil anything. But he was defiant.
We were met by dirty looks, scowling, and eye rolling from the woman who works there (owner? staff? I don't know)
My son and I frequent most Junction business and everyone is so warm and awesome and patient and understanding, but not this store.
If your child is special needs, don't go to this place. - CC R.Mississauga, Canada0 friends3 reviews
1/7/2018Great store with friendly staff. Only giving it a three star due to the fact that the cotton onesie I was so looking forward to owning has been a disappointment. Yes it comfy and super warm BUT it pilled like crazy after the first wash and it's just been getting worse. I've never put it in the dryer. It was driving me so crazy I don't bother wearing it anymore. Wish I bought this one item elsewhere. But a flannel one if that is an option.

7/29/2013We walked in, and I was drawn over to a rack of cute kid-sized personalized aprons. I was about to really enjoy the store, when a big cat *growled* at my husband and baby.
We left.
In my opinion, cats do not have a place in a kids' store. I'd be worried about the cleanliness of anything I would consider purchasing. - Almighty S.Toronto, Canada0 friends4 reviews
11/14/2013I was happy dealing with the staff but as soon as the owner was involved (scowling, condescending, librarian type) I decided to take my 200$ elsewhere. I like to buy local and support regardless of the higher prices but I'd rather buy online and save the money then having to deal with an ounce of the ignorance and attitude.
NO THANKS!
P.S. I don't know what happened with the other reviewer but the cat was super friendly (AND MASSIVE!) . maybe the owner should take some notes from that friendly feline. - Oliver S.Boston, MA1 friend32 reviews17 photos
7/13/2016The Asian locking girl at the counter really had an attitude when I asked for a discount on a broken wrapping of a toy, which I wanted to give as a present. As I told her, she was still not respectful. This is not how you should treat customers.

5/21/2014I came in here in hopes of finding a gift for a toddler's 1st birthday party and was disappointed. While I love supporting local businesses in the Junction, the selection of products was mediocre and overpriced. The lady working the counter also came off a little cold and stand-offish, which I wasn't expecting at a place that is supposed to be fun and kid friendly.

11/29/2014I bought kids pjs a week and a half ago and when I went to pick them up was surprised to see that they had 30% off all items. My question to the clerk regarding whether I could get the price adjustment since I bought a week ago was met with a blank stare and a no. So, be aware that they have a Thanksgiving weekend sale but don't price adjust for recently bought items.
They've lost me as a customer and I will share this experience with as many people as I can. - Lisa G.The Junction, Toronto, Canada0 friends25 reviews
1/21/2012Some nice stuff but quite overpriced. The proprietor has some very disturbing ideas about gender roles and is very condescending. The rest of the staff is very friendly however.

9/15/2009First to ReviewMy husband and I had decided to wait for another two years before we do the BIG thing and attempt child rearing. At the moment we're just not ready, but... all of our friends are! In 2009 alone, five new little ones have or will be making their appearances amongst our friends and family.
The last baby shower that I had attended was a huge deal, 'cause the parents-to-be had a tough time conceiving. They tried for years and finally the miracle that they've been asking for occurred a little over eight months ago.
So last weekend I was a bit jumpy about what to get our good friends as a gift for their shower. Sure, clothes were fine and simple to find (and there's oodles of stuff for baby girls which is what they've been told they're having), but I was pretty sure that the mommy-to-be was going to have hordes of pink clothing to coo over from just about everyone else bringing presents along.
During our walk along the Junction Arts Festival, we had decided to pop into Snug As A Bug and see if there was anything "cool" to purchase as a gift.
We walked in, and the sales woman was all smiles and friendly behind the counter. She looked well-knowledged, so I felt comfortable walking up to her for help.
I told her that we were looking for some ideas for a girl baby-shower and she was truly helpful, walking us through the store and pointing out different items that could work as gifts.
As luck would have it, after the short walk, we ended up back at the cash register and found the perfect gift right behind the counter. I don't remember the exact name for it, but we wound up purchasing a car-seat cover that supposedly fits all models and acts like an additional car blanket for the winter months.
We're always conscious of bringing cloth bags with us (even before the 5 cent per bag deal), so we were prepared to bag the item to go; but the sales woman gave us one of their reusable bags for free. The really cool thing about the bag is that it has a $10 off coupon ($75 or more) printed right on it to use in store or online. I've heard that kids are expensive, so I gave the bag to the parents-to-be along with their gift!
We had a simple friendly experience, and walked away with exactly what we were looking for. I know that in the coming months I'll go there again for another well priced baby-shower gift.
And for anyone looking for a good place to shop really soon, I saw this ad on their website while writing this review:
"Second-Year Anniversary Sale
From September 24th-27th everyone saves 20% to 50% off their entire purchase by popping a balloon!
Come and celebrate with us and enjoy FREE refreshments, and a FREE loot bag filled with gifts and deals from local businesses." - Amanda M.Toronto, Canada2 friends4 reviews
7/16/2010Nice local Canadian made childrens clothing. I love the hats they have. The summer hats are not only cute by are practical for children and provide UV protection. The winter hats are cute too especially the ones that are animals. They have a beaver, moose, frog, cat, bunny, pig and others. The service is great I have always been greeted with a smile and offered help. They also have a cute chunky cat in the store, the kids love going in there to see him too!
