I heard you were gone and then so was my heart. But here you are! The only saving grace of the Hudson Valley when the people want to keep hanging out. I have missed you so.

Went here with a friend who has been frequenting this bar for years. It was a Saturday night and it wasn't very busy. Not sure if it's because of Covid or not. It's a classic dive bar with a jukebox, old wood flooring, dark lighting, darts, and a foosball table. They have a decent selection of beers and liquors. Sitting at the bar were locals who all seemed to know each other, including my friend, which was pretty cool. Reminded me of an episode of Cheers! We played some darts, listened to some songs and then headed out. It was a fun time, I'm sure it would've been a lot more fun if there had been a larger crowd to interact with.

So many bars today have gone the route of heartless, soulless corporate enterprises.  Not so with the rustic Kingston watering hole, Snapper McGees. From warn, time-worthy hardwood floors, to the faded walnut bar counter, McGee is a timeless establishment.  Complete with an old school juke box, classic decor and vintage signage, McGees fits into another time when sophistication was for country club blue bloods, and humble, pleasant bars were for everyone else.
Customer service is top notch.  On our visit, the bartender greeted us at the door and invited us inside.  She was quick to provide us service with a smile.  On tap were a variety of American classics including Budweiser, Michelob and Coors Light.  I opted for a can of one of my favorites, Pabst Blue Ribbon, which was a surprising value of only $2.75.  Unlike more touristy places in the area, I was provided the beer in an genuine aluminum can. This was a refreshing change from $6 dollar PBR at the elitist establishments around the corner, that come with a glass. Who really drinks PBR out of a glass anyway?
Since we were at McGees in the mid-afternoon, the crowd was rather small, but quant.  Everyone at McGee seemed to know one another and was pleasant.  Some guests were engaged in a round of pool while others tossed darts at the boards.  McGees is a true treasure in the city of Kingston and will surely please anyone who frequents this fine, enduring, local establishment.

Great dive bar.  Large beer selection.  A great place to end the night and play some darts.

This bar is indeed open! We liked this place so much we came a few times during our short stay in Kingston. Great bartenders and regulars, late night hours, bar games, cool interior. Good vibes all around!

The most sensual bartenders in all of Kingston. I would highly recommend their brunch. The mini off-brand potato chips are to die for. #movetokingstonnow

Very friendly bar. Above Average dive bar! Drinks are reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.
