Great BBQ. Some of the best wings in Denver.
Always consistent - great value

Just found out new favorite spot for BBQ!! We went for dinner on a Saturday and found a seat quickly at the bar. It's a cute place with western decor (as expected) with plenty of parking. As soon as you sit down they put a basket of homemade potato chips on the table to nosh on while perusing the newspaper style menu.
The staff was super friendly and had great recommendations. We ordered a bit of everything - I got an order of jalapeño hush puppies to share and for me, the duo (pic below) with burnt ends (apparently these aren't a regular menu item so ask about them - trust me!) and the ribs with fried okra and the Mac n cheese. The hubby got the trio with bbq chicken, burnt ends and sausage with collard greens and Mac n cheese. He also ordered wings anticipating they would be his lunch next day.
The ribs were amazing!!! As you can see from the clean bone in the pic, the meat is so tender it completely slides off the ribs. The burnt ends were absolutely the best either of us has had. The piece of chicken is the full thigh/leg and seasoned really well. And he liked the sausage but the wings were a show stealer for him - they were big and meaty and perfectly seasoned and coated (note: he ordered them crispy so they cook a bit longer). The sides were all great and the greens got particularly high reviews from him. Not sure if so the hush puppies again - they were okay.
We finished with an order of the bread pudding to share (on recommendation from the bartender) and it was fantastic!! It wasn't a typical bread pudding - more like a cake consistency - but really delicious.
We had to get a to-go box and I swear we brought home 2lbs of meat for a leftover meal tomorrow. Now we're excited to introduce others - definitely give it a try if you want some good BBQ.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mel P.Broomfield, CO12Nov 11, 2023

The restaurant was nice and clean. The food was a large portion size. They had 4 different bbq sauces on the table for you to try with your food. The cornbread was the best tasting item! The chicken was cooked perfectly, but the bison was kinda like jerky. So next time I am going to try the St. Louis Ribs. Service was very fast after ordering.

I am familiar with this restaurant. I went inside and ordered Takeout. The burnt ends, brisket, hot link were so flavorful and tender. Wasn't a fan of the beef stew. Everything else was delicious!

Stopped in here for dinner with the wife and very happy we did because Smokin Dave's makes some pretty good BBQ. I am very picky when it comes to BBQ and feel that Texas has the best, but since I'm not in Texas right now, I'll be coming here in lieu.
I ordered the single meat combo with brisket, green beans and homemade chili. This combo also comes with a cornbread muffin! The brisket was perfect as well as the chili, but the green beans were just a tad bit salty. Our server was pretty awesome too!
Overall, it wasn't Texas BBQ, but pretty damn good! Two thumbs and one big toe waaaay up for Smokin Dave's. Happy eating, my foodies!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Paban P.Sherrelwood, CO03Apr 13, 2024

Wow! This place is delicious! I went one time before and I wasn't so impressed but I decided to give them a 2nd chance and they completely redeemed themselves. Ambiance is relaxing. Nice staff. Clean restaurant with great service. EVERYTHING we got was delicious and all that food for $70 is such a steal (it fed 4 of us that night). Don't miss out on getting the cornbread--we got several mini orders because it was so delicious!

I ordered the classic BBQ pork sandwich and when I received the sandwich I was a bit surprised. It wasn't shredded pork, it came out in big chunky blocks...I decided to shred the meat myself but then quickly realized that the majority of the meat was mostly slimy fat. I did not like that. The service was great though. We got seated immediately. Also the ambiance is nice too, chill, clean.....but again, the food, 2nd time disappointed.

I live in Texas, born and raised. We were in Denver because we are considering moving to the area since my husband is considering a work transfer. With that said, I know BBQ. It's in my veins. I wanted to see how a random BBQ spot stood up to my expectations and let me tell you, they did not disappoint.
The Texas brisket is on point, and BETTER THAN several spots in Texas. It's not the best I've had (ahem Goldies, Hutchins) but it's damn solid brisket. The bison ribs are something I've never seen offered anywhere, and they were super tasty. This was a standput unique option I very much appreciated.
The chicken didn't have much of a smoky flavor, but was really moist. Also had the chicken fried steak and gravy. Hella great gravy! Ty for not being lazy with instant mix, it drives me crazy! It was like it's own food there, so bravo.
The cfs was great and crispy and unique to a "typical" breaded crust. It was kind of like a katsu crust. Also a good choice to order.
Fried okra was nothing special but good and hot. The sides though were incredibly impressive. The corn bake is literally the best I've ever had of its style. The bbq beans were outstanding. The red beans in rice in comparison weren't the best but a solid choice, too.
I didnt care for the Mac personally, but if you like a whiter cheese, it's good! The cornbread... also good. I can't find fault in really anything here truly, and I'm a very tough grader. Well done yall.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yadira R.Hollywood, FL1514562117Sep 5, 2023
Great BBQ location! I came in on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and it was not busy at all. They have indoor and outdoor sitting and the service was great.
I started with a house Margarita and the catfish tenders to share. The catfish was well seasoned, flaky and delicious.
We also had the 3 meat platter which had a lot of food. I had it with brisket, ribs and half chicken and Mac and cheese and smash potatoes for sides.
My brother had the same but with pull pork, brisket and ribs and pork bake beans and fries as side.
We loved our food. The bricks could have been more fatty but it was flavorful, the ribs were ok , the pull pork was pretty good and my chicken was so juicy and flavorful . For the sides the Mac and cheese was super cheesy, the smash potatoes were made in house and had flavor, and the bake beans was my brother favorite side.
Overall I would recommend to check out.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
