Very inexpensive and they make good burgers.

what else do you want out of a burger joint?

Avoid the food snobs who complain about everything, everywhere, this place has average price, good burgers with plenty of stuff to put on top.  NO seating available is annoying since it's such a small place.  Shakes are good, fries are yummy, try them with chili.

The crew is friendly, esp the Mexicans working the flame.

It fills you up and tastes better than average.

This is one of my favorite place to get burgers. I like that you're able to top your burger off with what they have and as much as you want. Can't go wrong with that.

However, sometimes the onion rings can get way too greasy for my taste, but the fries are always good.

I can almost copy and paste my review for Belly Burger in the space below with these two restaurants so similar to each other.

Okay there are some minor differences.  Slider's doesn't offer you an option for Meyer Natural Angus Beef for an extra 75 cents.  Slider's has seating capacity for a maximum of 13 people on some rather uncomfortable stools.  On the other hand there is a positive difference that is unlike Belly where you actually have a surface to put your choice of the 16 or so fresh ingredients.  Slider's also allows you to help yourself on the fountain drinks so you can control the ratio of ice to soda in your drink.

The burger is grilled on a circular grill similar to the one at Belly, but you can see the flames rise on this grill.  Despite being a bit overcooked the burger managed to hold onto some sizzling juices inside, but because it is grilled the only grease you are consuming comes from the outrageously large portion of fries that come with your combo.

The service is always very friendly, and the similar to Belly prices make a meal here very affordable.

How many Le Video movie nights have I spent choosing between Gordo and Slider's? I don't know....

Agreed--the Polk St location has the best dine-in spot, but this place isn't bad either. The staff at the counter are always courteous and fast. There's usually some old movie or sports game playing on the TV while you wait. Beware, though--this location has some funky woven leather stools--not the most comfortable place to sit.

Their fries leave something to be desired--they're the kind that look like they were bought frozen and in bulk. But their burgers and chicken sandwiches are where they really shine. Their condiment bar can fulfill anyone's tastes from alfalfa sprouts and beets to iceberg lettuce and red onions.

Good, but not great burgers - Lots of issues!

What's with tiny shops like this that have *flies* all over their tiny, hot eating areas? Maybe there's no helping it, but I don't see flies in other restaurants in the area.

So, yeah, it's a tini/tiny place with like 3 tables. You will most likely walk in when it's "crowded" (4-5 people inside) and you'll have fun finding a place to stand (if you're getting it to go). Standing out on the sidewalk is likely your best bet.

One size soda: Small. Kind of like the store. No big deal if your eating there (free refills), but if you're getting it to go, you're S.O.L. You can see those little monsters in the photo. What gives?

The stores name is ever so slightly misleading. Since White Castle burgers are known as Sliders, you may be given the impression that the burgers here will be similar. They are not.

Ok, so down to why this place earns three stars:

1.The burgers are cooked on a weird, "spinning" grill. That's gotta be worth half a star right there. I assume it is supposed to cook the meat more evenly. Well, watch the guys try and cook on that thing and you'll see why it hasn't caught on elsewhere. Granted they get the job done.

    2. The burgers are good. Cooked well, and plenty of good condiments. They were fresh at lunch when I was there. The burgers come in 6 and 8oz sizes.

    3. The fries are ok: plain, non-soggy. Nothing more to say.

    4. Service was decent. Seems like high school kids run the register.

    5. It's cheap.

Good quality burgers for cheap.  The condiment bar has been sliding down the freshness scale - bit into a boiled egg last time I went and almost puked from the funkiness.  Stick to the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.  French fries are crispy and made from good taters.  Not the cleanest joint, and the service is provided by college folks which makes the service vary depending on their mood.  Eating there is challenging with more than 2 folks, they have a whopping 3 tables.

    2 people, 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 1 drink cost about $13.

Service is about B-, atmosphere B-, Food B+, Price A.

When it comes to a burger slider's makes a tasty one. It's reasonably priced and a good to go option for having a carnivorous picnic for one in golden gate park.

Probably the coolest thing about this place was the spinning grill behind the counter. After I ordered I sat by myself starring at the grill guys keep track of three burgers going around in circles over a set of open flames. I saw my burger evolve from raw to perfectly cooked with the cheese melted just right as it spun around over the flames. It wasn't quite benihana but I was pretty entertained.

The woman behind the counter was friendly, the condiment bar was still fresh and well stocked (they have jalapenos!), the fries were fine, and my soda was carbonated so I really can't complain about this place.

A red-headed step child compared to the original in the Castro.

They are nearly always out of the delicious cookies-and-cream ice cream that makes their best shake and the staff of doofuses spends more time outside talking to their friends than manning the counter.

I think, without question, the best burger you are going to get in the Sunset.

It isn't Jeffrey's in San Mateo, but it is probably better than "Hamburgers" in Sausalito... if you know the are I promise that will make sense.

To help... if you are in the inner sunset and need a cute and cozy place to sit down with a friend, have an excellent burger, and enjoy a beer.... go to Darla's.  Seriously.  It is much cuter, and a better vibe.  The industrial and tight quarters of Slider's makes you want to get in and out.  The food is probably better, but this is not a leisurely restaurant.,, this is a burger stand.

Darla's is the restaurant to go to for a good burger.  Slider's is the place to get a burger.

    Do you get the difference?
