Nowadays the venue is called "Sears Point Racing Experience", they run three stage Performance Driving programs, KTMs and TrackDay+ with a bit of supervision/coaching.
I attended Stage 3 and it was a blast! We had five 30 minutes(!) sessions with two coaches and two(?) more corner workers. It is quite densely packed in the day - started at 8:00am and we were done with the program around 2:30pm.
Robert and Mike were great, in between of driving sessions we had classroom debriefs highlighting common mistakes and areas to improve on. Sometimes they throw black flag at you to give an advice during the session. Of course you can (and probably should) ask for the personal feedback also but tbh there is not much time left in the schedule to allow for it.
Today we had just eleven cars on the track (one group only) - unheard of for regular track days! This and coaching is well worth the ~2x track day price. Helmets and head socks included.
Everyone on the track was super courteous and aware of cars around them. Passing was infrequent (due to number of cars and more or less the same pace) and super easy.
Looking forward for my TrackDayPluses with these guys! Apparently some folks do Stage 3 more than once and I can see why.
P.S. Nope, I'm not working there. At least not yet :DHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Benjamin B.Santa Monica, CA2162Aug 15, 2019
Highly dissatisfied and should of listened to the poor reviews. Purchased the F3 School of Racing + Insurance = $7340. They canceled the day before due to mechanical issues but said i'd be rescheduled. I was upset but understood.
After 3 months of inquiring through emails, calls, and web chats I did not receive 1 response. Finally disputed the charge with the credit card company and now I'm stuck dealing with that nightmare since they're refuting the claim. Absolute scam.
Believe the 1-star reviews about people losing their money. Also out of pocket for the nonrefundable flight and hotel I booked.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Shatakshi G.Santa Clara, CA404870Feb 16, 2019
My husband is a car enthusiast and so we came here last weekend for Performance Driving Stage 1. We have a Camaro which is almost a track ready car. I can say that doing PD1with Simraceway has been one of the high adrenaline boosting experiences for him.
We came here for a weekend event which was fully booked. Unfortunately it was forecasted to rain that day so the track was ready for only the wet driving line for safety purposes, nevertheless it didn't stop him and all the other participants from having a ton of fun. They were a group of 12 drivers and 4 trainers. Not a lot of places have such a high trainer to driver ratio which was very good. Also all the trainers were well experienced, friendly, showed some real good techniques, helped them overcome their fears and encouraged them to push their limit to gain maximum control of the car while driving.
The race track is well maintained and the facility is big enough to accomadate a lot of cars. There are many good, covered spots for visitors to spend time and watch over their partners while the driving is happening.
Highly recommended to take full liability track insurance before coming to the event to avert some unforeseen circumstances. Summing up I can say that the whole experience was worth the money spent and left us wanting for more.

I went as an observer to watch my son complete the Performance Driving Training. The staff was excellent and friendly. The instruction was very personal as each instructor took time to help each student get better with their individual driving skills. Excellent instruction, great track, my son and I had three great days and will be going back. I would recommend this to every driver no matter what level of driving skills you need.

I booked a class months in advanced for the performance driving stage 1 course. Received an email the morning before saying that the class was cancelled and that I could either get a refund or reschedule. Replied back with my choice and didn't hear anything back. Replied back again and still nothing. Horrible business practices in regards of customer satisfaction. We'll see how long this goes but from what I am seeing this is a reoccurring thing and will probably get sent to the BBB.

I just called and some guy answers the phone. Quit f****** calling me and take me off the lists. Then hung up on me. I was calling from my local house number. I have no idea what this guys issue is or what mental unstable person would ever answer his business line like this. I have never called before I have never tried to sell anything. I just had some questions before we tried it. Obviously, this guy has made sure we never go there and will pass it on.

Adrenaline is my drug of choice and the instructors and track at Simraceway are my suppliers. This past summer I took part in the 3 day Formula 3 Racing School. The word awesome is used so frequently to describe things and moments in life that the words true meaning gets diluted. Awesome is not the latte that you had from Starbucks. Awesome is getting behind the wheel of a Lola F3 with a power to weight ratio that makes a Bugatti Veyron feel like a Yugo. The performance of the Lola is breathtaking and the ability to pull 3 G's in a corner will get your heart racing faster than the car.
Instruction comes from world class professionals who are passionate about your experience and success. You'll be challenged, pushed and motivated to do your best in advancing skill and technique. The entire staff from pit crew and mechanics ensure that safety is #1 priority.
Words fail to describe the joy and exhilaration of mind and spirit of this experience. Money well spent and an incredible value that will get me back for further training next spring. The only downside is the mild depression that you may feel a few days after as you're jonesing for another fix from Simraceway.

I did the McLaren Driving Experience Introduction yesterday and had so much fun. Everyone at Simraceway was very friendly and helpfuland the instructors really know what they're doing and are great at giving feedback to improve your driving.
Our time over the day was spent in learning the car in slalom and cornering cone courses, lectures and chalk-talks about the racetrack, reviewing where we could each get better and how to improve, and of course, time on the track as well, both in your car and riding with the instructor (which I found most valuable for learning where I should be shifting).
Our instructor yesterday was Jeff, a VERY skilled driver and instructor, who's also very friendly and funny. On the track you follow the instructor around while he coaches you via walkie-talkie. The instruction is great, but the one nitpick I have is that it can be a bit hard to hear at times over the noise of the engine. I mentioned it to Jeff and after making sure the volume was maxed, he said "You could always throttle down...", then paused and we both said "...but we don't want to do that!" and laughed.
The price for the day is not cheap, but my wife and I agreed it's worth it. She bought the day the day for me as an extra special gift, and spent the day with me there even though she wasn't driving. The staff made her feel welcome too, and best of all, she was able to ride along with Jeff a few times when he didn't have one of us in his car, so she had a really fun day too.
Overall, I can't recommend this highly enough. I learned new driving techniques and got to drive the car to the limit of my skills, which definitely improved over the day. I'm still smiling thinking about it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - C W.San Jose, CA04130Oct 29, 2019
This review is for the Teen Safe Driving.
1. The bad--Rescheduling fee and poor time management
An organization with a 25 percent rescheduling fee should adhere to their published end times. We signed up for, and committed to 9 - 4. 24 hours before course, I received an email advising that it could run longer "if we find some drivers need more time to learn the lessons behind the wheel." At some point during the event the end time was moved to 4:10 then it became 4:20, and then 4:40. We could not afford to leave at 4:40 so ended up taking our driver from course at 4:30. When we picked up some drivers were still doing course so no idea if it went past 4:40, but wouldn't be surprised. Just find it quite ironic that an organization that charges a rescheduling fee is quite liberal with their customers time.
The Good. The class instruction was excellent and the instructors were knowledgeable and approachable.
Tip/suggestion : Should have a map posted where the courses will take place or give specific directions. At sign up we were directed "over there" for morning. We left during class time and could not locate group. No one is around to advise after sign-in.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dale K.Oakdale, CA1162Mar 10, 2019
Took stage 1 performance class
We did car control in first part , went over our driving then hit the track , following a instructor , was radioed as going through corners , had 2 more track times in the afternoon, I learned a lot and let the car do it's job
I will be taking stage 2 and stage 3 classes
My only hope is to have the same instructors
Tony did a great job
As well as the other 3 instructors
I drive a Shelby gt350
Car was designed for the track and driving on Sonoma was a hit, one of the most technical tracks around
At 61 years old that was my first track day and there will be many more
It was also nice driving on the same track my nascar guys race on
All in all a blast
Thank you guys!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
