This is probably the best beach I've been to in New York. Very obscure location.. not crowded at all.. It's peaceful just beautiful.. If you don't know anyone your paying $45 a person. Thanks to a friend gave me a pass..Good times and if she's feeling super generous hope she shares those passes again..

Washed up off the shore.. Tee hee...

I've been a member of Silver Point on and off for most of my life. My grandparents had a cabana and then gave it to my aunt who recently passed and left the membership to my cousin and me. Our children now get to experience the enormous summer gift every summer.

This is a family centric club for a mix of blue & white collar folks. Nothing fancy except for the true value of having a little slice of ocean front and sand at your feet all summer long. The value and appreciation seems to go a long way for members. Everyone is mostly upbeat and active using tennis courts, pool, paddleball and of course the many acres of lush sand and oceanfront to tan and swim. There is a lunch / dinner concession building that has every hot & cold snack for those who don't want to bring or make food. Ironically, they just started delivery service to your cabana?!

This is NOT an elite style club where you are receiving daiquiris from your lounge chair each hour. You want a frozen drink - you make a pitcher yourself and typically share appetizers with your fellow members!

Cabanas are priced (see the website) typically by their size. I lease a cabana that has a shower, two separate changing rooms and a kitchen with large refrigerator and cabinets. It ain't cheap but the ability to bring our family to the beach any weekend or weekday during the summer is invaluable.

This is a terrific club for folks of all ages. Conveniently based right off the Atlantic Beach bridge in Nassau County.

I've been a member of SPBC since I could walk. It's certainly not the best and most upscale club, but it's one of the best places on earth. It's where New Yorkers flock to during the summer to escape the rat race we live in. Your neighbor is white or blue collar but for most, it doesn't matter. Everyone is there to escape, nothing else. Whether your facing the parking lot or facing the ocean, you know you're at the beach. You get the best of NY, views of office buildings and apartment buildings, and nothing but ocean. You're on the frontier of the summer season at the beach. The true beach goers are there even on rainy days, there's that level of commitment for people. During the short summer for most NY'ers, every moment is valued at the club. The club gives you the space to make it as how you want. Let me be very clear, the club is what it is, as are the people. You will meet the nicest kind and the trashiest of trash, but the beach is for all.
It's different than Long Beach and Jones, the vibes are different. This is where people go to have time stop for a little while

This is my first year being a full time member of the club after coming here for years as a guest. I can not say how more impressed I am with the staff and the grounds. Everything is well maintained and the Cabana kids are always great and helpful. They have multiple amenities including a snack bar, kiddie and adult pools and have a ton of activities for the kids. Definitely a great place to spend the summer with your family.

      First to Review

I was generously invited to come here as a guest of members and was unsure what to expect. I had not been to ny beaches before nor to a private beach club.

Silverpoint was a pleasant surprise. While all of the facilities I observed from the cabanas to the restrooms to the cafe to the pool and racquetball courts were well maintained, the place offered an unassuming, laid back vibe. The beach was expansive and the sand had a silky texture. Members were playing cards and sharing meals on the cabana. On the beach it seemed as if everyone knew everyone and stopped to say hello and exchange pleasantries as they went for walks.

Perhaps it is my own bias, but when I think of a private club, I think it will be pretentious. There was none of that here. Instead, this is a place in which members can relax by the beach for the summer with a close knit community of friends and neighbors.
