Found this amazing little lunch spot on Donner pass road. Their food is so delicious, I was completely surprised. A lot of the places in truckee are kind of expensive when you're looking for a simple lunch at an affordable price but this place hits the nail on the head. Tons of options on their lunch menu for only $9.99 which includes a soup ,salad, entree and an appetizer of the day. I ordered a delicious chicken curry with rice noodles. It's had so much flavor that it instantly become my favorite place for lunch in truckee. The service as well was very friendly. Parking is decent as they have a lot behind the businesses. Restaurant is of a smaller size but well worth it if there is a wait. If you love Thai food then this is somewhere you should stop for lunch

Came here for a friend's bday dinner after a long day of snow sports. Food came out relatively quick. Solid service, they provided icecream for the friend. We got here before the rush; within 10 minutes after 6:15PM, there was a line out of the door. The space may feel a bit small but it is cozy.

Flavors of the food is really bold which I appreciate. Some of the sauces of the noodles (pad thai, pad se eew, hangover noodles) were a bit too sweet for my preference but my friends enjoyed the pad se eew the most. It was also the most recommended by the owner. Medium to large portions for the price. Great food for being out in a snow resort town.

The peanut sauce that accompanies the crispy duck was to die for!

We have been here twice in two days while visiting Tahoe. They are on the lower level of the building so it's better to park on the street. They welcomed us in, though one of the times we were all geared up in our snow fit and they didn't seem to mind.
We had ordered the pad see ew and that was by far one of the best I have had. That is also one of the reasons we came back a second time. Very flavorful.
We also ordered pad thai, which was also flavorful. Can't really go wrong stopping by here. Across from here if you want to go sledding, is a great place to sled with kids.
The service was great and he was very informative with all the questions we asked. Def a place to try when you are in North Tahoe.

I want to preface this review by saying that I have the deepest respect for Thai cuisine and Thai people. Thai food has been my favorite for as long as I can remember. I frequent my local Thai restaurant so frequently, many years ago I ended up hiring one of their cooks as a nanny for my children. She served Thai food for them and would even leave me little dishes for dinner when she knew I was coming home late.

Ok that said. Tonight I entered Siam eager to experience a new Thai restaurant in Truckee. I was greeted rather coldly and was seated and placed my order in a timely manner. My initial
Impression was that service was not very friendly. Most Thai restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining in have had friendly and attentive and fast service. I had a feeling right off the bat that this was not going to be the case. My Tom Kha soup and crab Rangoon came out in good time. The only problem was I was not given a spoon or bowl to eat the soup with. I waited for a bout 5 to 10 minutes before anyone came out from the back so I could ask for the cup and spoon. I thought this was a pretty bad oversight but served my soup and moved on. My entrée took a bit longer and then I noticed it was sitting on the counter waiting to be delivered. It sat and sat and again nobody was around to call attention to it. One of the employees, finally noticed it and delivered it to the table. It was a beautiful dish! Shrimp Curry. Beyond my first impression of how pretty it was I realized it was very small. 5 shrimp for $22. Not prawns.... Frozen average sized shrimp. Again, I let it go and served the dish on some rice. Then I realized it was barely warm through by the time I plated it. I was very disappointed. I've never had a Thai curry served that was not served piping hot. I decided to eat what I had served, not try to complain but give them feedback as I was packing up my food to go.

This is where I had the most negative experience at a restaurant in recent memory. I gave my feedback to one of the female employees and she said" do you want me to take it off"? I assumed she meant the bill, I was happily surprised and said sure! That is very kind of you. Then when the bill arrived the Shrimp Curry was still on the bill. I walked over to her to point it out and she looked at me with surprise. Then a male employee, possibly the owner came over and I explained everything that had happened with my meal and the bill. By this point all I really wanted was to leave. He also made it seem like he was going to remove the charge, offered me a consolation Thai tea and dropped the bill off with the charge still on it. By this time my patients were worn thin. I politely approached the greeter station and gave him my feedback, he then offered to make me a new dish in an attempt to not have to remove the charge from my Bill, which they offered, I didn't ask or care! In my opinion, at this point he should removed the charge and made a fresh hot serving. I said fine I'll wait and I sat down. Then he walked over to the table, and asked me for the half eaten, cold dish I had packed away already(3 shrimp and some sauce) in my plastic to go bag! I couldn't believe the audacity. To ask for the poorly served half eaten dish back??? Why because I was getting away with something????
Very very unprofessional. Mind you, I didn't care one bit about taking it home. Nor did I care about the $55 bill. I simply wanted them to know my dish was served cold so the next person ordering it might not have the same experience.

So, I sat back down, and drank my tea, waiting for the fresh hot dish and the bill. $55 for two dishes and a very small, cold shrimp curry. What a let down. I left a zero $ tip (something I have only done once before in my entire life) and walked out. I wouldn't go back to Siam if they offered to let me eat there for free for a year. Worst customer service ever. Total disgrace.

You take the feedback, eat the $22 charge offer the consolation Thai tea and say thank you for coming in. That's how you take care of a patron to your establishment. That's how you earn trust and loyalty as a restaurant.

Good food. They didn't ask how spicy I'd like it and I forgot to say. I got the green curry. Eggplant, green beans, peppers, broccoli, chicken. We also got the Tom Khan(sp?) soup. It was really good. Filled with chicken, mushrooms, and a few too many onions.

I ordered through DoorDash on Sunday 4/7. Early afternoon . While the food was delivered quickly I had to throw most of it away. And it was pricey. The chicken satay tasted fine but was very dry. The papaya salad is what I threw out. The vegetables were old and limp, especially the tomatoes, and the papaya very soggy and an odd taste and aroma. Clearly the food had been around since Friday or Saturday.
      Never again.

I would love to be writing this review about their food but unfortunately didn't get the chance. Made. reservation for 8, a day prior, and received a confirmation. Arrived for said reservation only to be completely ignored but all staff. Went to find someone and they wouldn't quite acknowledge we even had a reservation but assured us it wouldn't be long. Waited 30 minutes before giving up and leaving.

No one in there looked happy. Everyone looked like they were either waiting for their food or waiting for a check, but all equally ignored. It did seem like the to go food was moving fast so maybe that's the way to go.

Right when you come in you feel like a burden because of the rude vibes you get from the people here. The lady seating us was wasn't necessarily rude but wasn't pleasant either. She motioned her head over for us to follow her, I sat down, and she didn't even let my boyfriend sit down until she finished pouring our waters acting as if we were in her way. Awkward! Most restaurants you go to wait until you're actually seated to start pouring anything.
Make sure you read the menu with a fine tooth comb... I thought I was getting a vegetable soup with hot broth that I assumed was vegetable broth because it's a VEGETABLE SOUP... until I found a piece of chicken at the bottom! The other soup they offered with vegetable broth came with chicken... so there are no vegetarian soups here available. When they came to take our order, I read it off their menu asking for the "vegetable/tofu soup" and the waiter said I had to pick one. Huh? So I asked him if the tofu soup just came with noodles and tofu and he replied that it came with tofu and vegetables. Okay.... Hence why I ordered the "tofu/vegetable soup" reading it word for word off YOUR menu.... When I got the soup, it had no noodles so that was my bad for not reading carefully, but when I asked him if it came with noodles he should have informed me that it doesn't because that's decent customer service at best. You want to make sure people are going to be happy with their order but these people clearly don't care. They didn't check on us at all and it wasn't even busy. The eggrolls were good, but that's about it. Nothing about this place makes me want to come back. My boyfriend enjoyed his food, but can you really call it a good meal if you still leave hungry? And if all you got was fake sugar shit to go with your coffee? I don't think so.

Really excellent food, especially the curries. Good Thai iced tea too. Friendly staff. I only get takeout here so cannot comment on the table service. My only complaint is some occasional inconsistencies like a wonky online ordering system, missing rice, poor labeling of items and taking way longer than estimated to have the food ready. But none of my gripes should keep anyone away from here. It's REALLY good food.

We weren't sure about this place because of the reviews however we decided to try it and we are glad we did.
it's a small place and it was packed, as any good place should be. we were seated quickly, order taken quickly and food came out quick. Food was on point, everything was amazing. not sure how people give 3 stars but clearly some people think pretty highly of themselves and less of others.. We ordered 3 meals and all were great.
bathroom was clean and well kept, waiter had broken english and o don't mind that at all, he was polite and happy.
Overall great place, great food and a fair price. Enjoy it.
