A great place to eat if you like good southern food. The buffet bar has many items to choose from. If you like corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, rice and gravy, sweet potatoes, chicken and dumplings, BBQ, chicken, corn bread, Biscuits, beans, macaroni and cheese, and other items to choose from this is the place to eat. After 4:00 pm they offer all you can eat ribs on the menu and a good dessert bar. Give this place a try ! A great value for the money. The staff and employees are really nice.

Food was delicious. I wish the buffet was more spread out or had an additional side ... the line was long!

Love this restaurant. Every item is delicious and truly southern cooking at its best. My favs are the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, and that freaking squash casserole. I am always so tempted to beg for the ingredients used since we only get to stop by once or twice a year.
The miniature homemade biscuits and cornbread. Delish.
The cobblers. Unbelievable. The Apple has a salty crust which makes it extra yummy. The peach cobbler is amazing. This is the southern cooking I want to know how to cook!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 81218101Jun 17, 2023
We wanted to kill some time on a busy summer Saturday on our way to Myrtle Beach so we looked for a lunch location where you could sit down, that wasn't fast food. We definitely made the right choice. First of all, the prices are very reasonable. Yes, it's $13.50 and it used to be $10, but the portions and quality merit the price. The pork had terrific flavor (vinegar) and the fried chicken was both crisp and moist. Every side had balanced flavors. We also had great service and people were so friendly. We found it a little hard to navigate the seating and other system, but everyone was very accommodating. My picky daughter ate chicken and plain rice.
Finally, the outdoor area was really fun and fascinated my daughter. She counted 26 turtles minimum. So this really was a great stop and some of the best food I've had on a road trip in a long time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - David B.Grovetown, GA06Oct 20, 2023
Stopped here on Friday going to Myrtle Beach . The food was ok. Chicken and the biscuits were the best part. As we checking out seen they offered seniors a discount no discount was reflected on the receipt.even though we told him.
Some of the food had been sitting for a while on the buffet. Would not come again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tricia L.SC, SC0127Oct 5, 2023
Great food. Fried corn is amazing. Not much of a desert bar but otherwise great. Good friendly service, feels like you're very welcome!

I stopped in SC hoping to try a nice local BBQ spot, but this place was a miss-- both food and service. The pulled pork sandwiches and bbq chicken were terribly bland and tasted of plain vinegar. I've had great BBQ in Atlanta and Virginia that used vinegar in their BBQ but this was just sour and flavorless. I ordered a $10.50 bbq chicken plate and the breast I received was more bone than meat. Mac and cheese was bland, cold pasta, and beans and cornbread were subpar. The coleslaw was the only decent thing.
Worst than the food, the cashier Renee was rude and acted like it was an inconvenience to answer any questions. Then ironically, there was a 2% "hospitality tax" for bland food and bad service.
I regret going to this place. Avoid!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Derek C.Marlborough, MA394Feb 18, 2023
This place has amazing food and friendly people! Stopped for takeout and it definitely lives up to the reputation.

Food was good and service great. Plenty of food for a good price. Outside decking could use a little work but not a deal breaker.

I was on a 2 week vacation back to the Carolinas in September and made a few BBQ stops , 5 to be exact . I grew up in Bennettsville , S.C. , but now live in Las Vegas , Nevada . I have also lived in Texas so I an well versed in regional BBQ . For Pulled Pork it's got to be Carolina style . Las Vegas has exploded with BBQ places and I have tried most of them . They tend to be more Texas style which is great for Brisket and Hot Links .
I was driving back to Charlotte for my plane that night , so I only had time to get a quick Pulled Pork Sandwich and Sweet Tea . I would have loved to do the buffet , but I had to hit the road . I have had friends post pictures on Facebook about this place that live in the Bennettsville / Marlboro County area , so I had to give it a try .
The sandwich was good and the slaw on it made it perfect . I really liked the atmosphere and the general store . Great outdoor setting with rockers . The service was good and friendly .
Now I have to do my ratings . I ate at 5 BBQ places on my 2 week trip home to the Carolinas in September and I have to give Number #1 to Smithfield's in Laurinburg , N.C, , but only by a small margin . Number #2 Scott's in Hemmingway was so tender and sauce with just the right kick Number #3 would be Shuler's which has a very nice facility and spot on sandwich . Number #4 would be Stanton's Fly In Barbecue and Fish Camp , which is in my hometown of Bennettsville , S.C. and has a runway for small planes and helicopters to land there , which is pretty cool . Number #5 Fat Buddies in Waynesville , N.C. which had a cool decor , but nothing special about the food .Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0
