Q:
How early should I arrive if I want to be near the front of an all standing concert that starts at 8:00? (ps: my competition is thirsty kpoppies)
A:
Since the entrance is outside, I've never known them to not allow people to start lining up at a certain time. Probably at least one hour prior to doors opening.

Do I need a official state Id to show?
A:
Of the times we've attended the Shrine for events, they've just asked for our tickets. Unless you have to pick up tickets at will call, then you would have to show ID and card used at time of purchase.

The Shrine Auditorium (the exterior) is a super fun venue to see any show, especially during summer when it's warm and you've had a few drinks while you enjoy the music!
We saw The Ghost Inside at The Shrine's outdoor venue, and it was such a great place to rock out and dance and feel like nobody's judging you for having fun.
The outdoor Shrine area can hold up to 6,000 people when standing (which is the only option for outdoor shows) so get there early to grab your spot!
It's also very loud with the speakers and acoustics they use outside, so if you're someone who gets headaches or ear aches from super loud bass and noise, I would recommend bringing some noise reduction ear plugs.
If there's ever a show you are interested in at the Shrine, grab a ticket and go - it's definitely an experience just to see it and be there!

Really enjoyable event at the Shrine tonight. Free concert sponsored by Jim Irsay, owner of the Colts football team. Unfortunately, his wasn't able to join the event due to illness but the show went on as scheduled. As you entered, you had the opportunity to see rare historical documents and objects, sports memorabilia, and instruments that belonged to legendary musicians. A musician's dream to see some of this stuff. Kenny Wayne Shepherd even brought out David Gilmore's black Stratocaster to play some Pink Floyd tunes. So cool.
Musical guests included Ann Wilson of Heart, Buddy Guy, Kevin Cronen of REO Speedwagon, Peter Wolf from the J Giles Band, and Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. This was free?
The crew working the event was extremely helpful overall and a special shout out to Octavia for assisting us with ADA seating. Your kindness was really appreciated. I don't remember his name but the gentleman working the VIP entrance was also amazing. Props to all of you. A wonderful event and I'm so happy I was able to be a part of it. Thank you Mr. Irsay and get well soon.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - 230221168Dec 19, 2023Updated review
Came back here a couple more times since my last review. Last year I saw John Summit for both days and this year I saw Jackson Wang and Clozee. I am a frequent concertgoer and I think this venue is just okay. There is nothing too great about it. Security is very strict and they even made me take my shoes off just because I walk pretty funny. Of course, nothing was in my shoes. From my friend's experience, security is too strict.
I like that the restrooms are pretty big and lots of stalls available. There are multiple bars and lots of bartends so the wait for drinks is not bad.
The hall is nothing special, just a big stage. It might look outdated but I think that is the look they are going for. To save your ears, bring ear plugs as it will get very loud! This location always tends to oversell tickets so do not be surprised if you are going to feel smushed together.
If you plan to park, please buy parking passes before the event.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 14, 2019Previous reviewHonestly! This has to be my favorite music venue. I came here with my friends to see Gryffin 10/11/2019. I cannot wait to come back. My group of friends and I came a little bit early probably like 7:45? We were able to skip the large line. Security was quick!
Going in, I remember there was a coat check-in. There is also a medical room for people who need help. There are restrooms downstairs. There will be a line no matter what. There is so much going on! There are multiple bars, so that is helpful for those who want to drink!
The room with the stage itself is as big as a large basketball court! I enjoy that you can see the stage from no matter where you are (except if there is a person who is as tall as a tree in front of you). It was overall such a good venue, good vibes, and everything. Cannot wait to come back!
My only complaint is that I was not able to bring any gum in... but they sell gum in the restrooms. hmmm :/ - Dec 10, 2023
I was here about a year ago for a concert. I'm 5'4" and found the leg room to be uncomfortable. The seats are super close together, so if you're tall, I would recommend an aisle or a row that clearly has some space in front of it. The architecture on the interior is stunning and the ambiance totally fit the Stromae concert that I was here for.
There is also super easy and pretty reasonable parking adjacent to the venue, which is so nice, because ride shares can be ridiculous after attending a concert. Overall, I'd come back but more carefully select my seat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Daniel L.Orange, CA85174338Nov 14, 2023

This venue is great for an intimate concert or a play. Saw Ed Sheeran and it was incredible! When he didn't use a mic, he was heard clearly. He said that's what's special about this place. I could see and hear fine sitting up top and in the back. Very old place and has that old vibe. Lots of staff around and bathrooms. The parking lot is huge and you pay easily on an app using your space number which is very convenient. I recommend this venue, it was a nice change from the huge venues.

Hello from month two of the WGA strike! I went to a union meeting at the Shrine on May 3 and it was the coolest shit ever, like a religious revival for thousands of fired up writer dorks.
I don't know what the Shrine is usually like, but I was heartened to find easy parking (and have, in the past, parked in the Shrine's garage to attend the Festival of Books at USC). There were metal detectors going into the venue, but everything moved pretty efficiently. The auditorium was big and attractive, with good views of the stage from every part of the space. The audio/video stuff seemed to work well.
Every union in Hollywood showed up and we all cheered and roared with the spirit of solidarity. I don't know if I'll ever make it back to the Shrine, but I was happy to be there for this one memorable night.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 1 - Jul 26, 2023
Came for the Barbie pink carpet premiere and omg! The MOST beautiful venue! I attend red carpets weekly and this is the nicest venue I've ever been too for one. The building is beautiful, the architecture is stunning. It gives old Hollywood vibes. There is a parking garage literally next door so it's super convenient. So much space for a big carpet and so much seating inside!

My review is for the hall without seating. The show I went to was pretty packed. It's tough seeing the stage if you're not all the way up front. I wish they could make the stage a bit higher so everyone gets a clear view of the show. I'm glad they also had an IPA on tap.

Don't park in the Shrine parking structure. Way overpriced and took over an hour to get out with no traffic control. Shame on you USC!
