Excellent spot for a quick bite to eat. The menu caters to the area. There are a lot of vegetarian options. A lot of the flavors are more American rather than Japanese. My order was the super miso ramen and it was decent. The spicy butter was a great addition to the ramen but not really spicy. Prices are about average.
Delicious Ramen. Vegetarian options (if that's your thing) but difficult to find a seat. Additionally the Pine Box bar is right across the way and is a good option for some pre/posting gaming. Thank you for providing Ramen to the Morgan Ave stop creatives.
I've been coming here with my husband every Monday for months now. Love this spot. No-frills ramen and quick, friendly service. It's quite small - one large communal table and then countertop seating. My personal favorite is the Miso followed by the Tysons. I ask for crushed red pepper and add it to match my tastes. It's cash only, but there is an ATM inside the restaurant. Much better value and service rather than Ichiran.
Solid place, price point is average for ramen. Overall a good experience, but would not go out of my way to eat here. Emphasis seems to be fresh and quality ingredients. Soup is decent, noodles are ok, chashu is a little lacking. Chicken is quite good. Portions are a tad small but not too bad. For those looking for a flavor profile, it definitely fits the American style ramen. Not to take away from the taste or quality, which are both good, but if you are trying to get authentic Japanese style ramen this might not be your favorite.
Sat down on a Wednesday night, little after 8, just me and my lady. Crowded but not full. The move for two people (romantic or platonic (or both)) is one of the bars on either side of the restaurant. "Oh, it's BYOB?" she said; I retrieved two coldies from my backpack. "Oh, it's cash only?" she said; I showed her a couple crispy Jacksons (Tubmans) oragami'd into my too-small wallet. And she says I'm never prepared. She had the Super Miso. The pickled GARLIC was insane, and the highlight. Great garlicky broth. I had the Shinobi, extra spicy w/ miso. Perfect heat, though the broth got a little firey toward the end. Noodles cooked to nice al dente (or Japanese equiv.), though she did say she preferred a straight noodle over a wavy, and weirdly, I'm liable to agree. Very solid, and the price (~$12 a portion) is right.
BYOB and super hearty lovely soups. what more could you want. I eat hear solo often its super casual and easy!
This is the third ramen spot A and I have gone in the past two weeks and we thought the ramen was ok only. Compared to the other two, this comes in third but the meat in both our Shinobi Ramen and Tyson ramen were very good. We've never seen a rib in ramen before and liked that a lot but we didn't leave feeling satisfied. Great service and just a communal table down the middle of the small space for groups. We got there a few minutes before they opened at 6 and there were already a few others waiting. The small place filled up quickly but turnover at most ramen spots are fairly quick. This place is conveniently located right around the corner from the Morgan Ave L train station.
Super good. Ramen is on point and service is really on point. Will def be coming back for more.
I have always loved this place. Good food , cozy and nice server:) always make you feel that he' got you without being too bro-y . Much better than Ichiran opened close by, which is an overpriced "fast food" establishment where they charge $3 for extra green onion ! What !
Great little spot with 3 cheapish vegetarian options. It's a very small space, so dining in can be a little squishy, but you can still comfortably have a conversation.
This is simply one of the most satisfying Ramen shops in Brooklyn. Small menu, no big surprises, except for the quality of the ingredients and tastiness of everything. The mainstay "Shinobi Ramen" bowl for $13 (pictured here with seaweed salad) is perfectly cooked and perfectly balanced with miso, bean sprouts, corn and spices. The noodles and egg arrive slightly al dente and undercooked, but by the time you are halfway through, everything has reached perfect pitch. The thick cut slabs of pork are unbelievably juicy and tasty. This is all I would ever want from a Ramen shop!
Shinobi ramen is a hole in the wall, really. BYOB and don't overstay your welcome. The ramen is good, get it spicy! It's not the most flavor filled ramen you will ever have but it's perfect for those cold winter nights or when you are feeling sick. Bring a friend, some beers and slurp up!
It was very cold out and I was in the mood for Ramen. My boyfriend highly recommended this place. It really hit the spot! I got the Shinobi ramen with miso and he got the Tan Tan and we shared. Both were delicious but I have to say I absolutely loved the spicy tan tan. We also got the pork bun slider which were awesome. Long story short I will definitely be back again!!!
We truly enjoyed our meal in this tiny cosy restaurant. The appetizers we got were outstanding. And the ramen are perfectly cooked. Serving times are fast, you can't spend an evening dining here, but that also has it advantages. Pricing is very good.
Been coming here for years. Never a disappointing meal. Everything is always teaming with flavor! Only complaint is cash-only.
Good ramen but I will say compared to some other places the portions are a little small. I don't mind cramped spaces but the seating was a little too close for comfort with my friends. Still better than that booth ramen nearby. If I'm ever in this part of bushwick I don't hesitate to stop by.
No. Just no. The one star given was for the BYOB. Otherwise this place pretty much, sucks. 1. Spicy is not spicy. Even the chili oil "infused with chili, roll eyes* is NOT SPICY. Veggie tan was basically too thick, whole wheat noodle soaked up all the 'broth' before I could finish, aka NOT EDIBLE. Cabbage was not chopped and I was literally eating cardboard veggies. No. Their signature Shinobi was hugely lacking in flavor. The pork given mostly consisted of mostly FAT. No. Seaweed salad was so poorly made + presented. No. My guess is people who come here either never had good ramen from the other side of the L train, or never had ramen in their life? Instant ramen would've tasted better. It was also incredibly loud, aka good for nodding at your uninteresting date. Guys, just get pizza instead? Yes.
Place has a friendly atmosphere, and the food came quick. My review reflects the food itself, which I found to be bland, but not bad. I just know of numerous better Ramen choices elsewhere. I wish they had tonkaysu. BYOB is nice too.
A pretty good place! It is a bit small which can be a problem if it's crowded, but otherwise a cool place to eat. The cold ramen is my FAVE. It is seasonal - only in the summer I believe. But it is SO good. Plus the regular ramen is perfect for the winter. The service is usually pretty good too. A big plus is that it is BYOB!
I feel bad writing this because maybe it was just a bad night. My friend wanted to try this place one night and said the reviews were pretty good. Space is small, but cozy. Lucky the night we went was not really busy so we didn't feel rushed to order. The server was a nice guy. Took time to explain the menu etc and the price was reasonable. Maybe.. The part that turns me off from trying this place again is that I found a hair in my food. You know it happens. I worked in restaurants before so I understand, but come on. The hair was right on my egg in plain sight and honestly looked like a pubic hair. We all know the difference. I didn't take a picture so if you choose to believe me or not it is up to you. They switched my food, but I think they just removed the egg and added more broth. Me and my friend bought the same ramen and mine tasted watered down. I feel stupid for even eating it after what I saw. Again maybe it was just a one time thing but it just had to happen to me.
