Great park, very respectful owners. Haven't had or seen any type of aggressive activity in that park, it's off leash so you need to be ready.
But really great vibe overall, my dog loves it so much. He's found amazing friends!
I really need to take him more over there, but that's another story.
It's always well maintained and has plenty of doggies around.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - A N.Canoga Park, CA260Jan 15, 2024
Yes, people use this as an of leash dog park. We've taken dogs here many times and there are less nasty dogs then at your typical dog park.
The kids area is ok. We preferred it before they took out the sand.
There's also a bit of hiking here. Nice park overall.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 83112650Oct 15, 2023
If you have a dog and you're looking for a place to give it a good walk, this park is huge and perfect. We were shocked to see that there was more to the park once we walked by the fenced kids' playground area. There were tons of shade to access and the park looked very well-kept and clean.
I saw several signs that said to keep your dogs on leash, however no one here seems to follow it. There were a lot of dogs in the area but were all very friendly and curious. We took our dog off leash as well since it would be tough to have non collared dogs run up to our dog (and possibly entice our dog to run and choke itself.) Our dog was happy with all of the space to walk and run around, and it got some good social time. We watched friendly dogs go by and there were a great amount of friendly dog owners here too.
They were great to talk to and we met a friendly man that frequented the park a lot that introduced us to his dogs and told some stories of the park. Based on what I learned,
- lots of tiny flies fly around )I don't reccommend bringing picnic food)
- be aware of coyotes that can appear here as the park is on a hill (once you see one, take your dog and leave)
- gophers leave holes around the area (watch your step so you or your dog don't harm yourself)
- avoid walking on the sidewalk sides (there may be snakes that appear there)
- a big tarantula sometimes walks among the area (FREAKY! he showed me a vid and I could not believe my eyes)
So in summary, do not let your dog leave your side and roam far away for safety. Stay beside your dog as you always should. You never know what your dog may come across and may need to leave quickly!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Amy C.Canoga Park, Canoga Park, CA22669Mar 18, 2024
Nice, open layout. Although I really like this park, almost every dog was OFF leash. LOTS of gopher holes, very easy to turn your ankle here, and I saw a few dogs trip and fall today.
Great smells for the dog! Lots of plants and weeds for the dogs to explore. There's a nice concrete walking path that borders the grassy area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Louis V.Topanga, CA04Apr 1, 2024
Great park to walk the dog and do catch ball. Also they have doggy bags available. It is a pity that not everybody cleans up. Saturday and Sunday prime time there are a lot of people with their dogs

This is a great little park and a nice hike to boot. I had no idea this place existed until a friend suggested we hike here. The hike is short, with a few challenging incline and a decline that requires using a rope. The path was wide enough where two people can walk side by side, making it easier to chat. I like this place a lot and will definitely be back again. Parking is east as it has a small private lot and plenty of street parking. Come here, check it out and repare to sweat.

An off leash dog park indeed, which is lovely! Bathrooms are clean. My only gripe was that once we were finished watching the doggies and walking around the park, we wanted to take the longer hiking route along the perimeter. We got about 20 steps in when we saw a homeless man peeing on the trail right in front of us. Dude looked really sketchy. He kept going down the path once he was finished. Um, no thanks.

Be cautious when leaving anything in your vehicle in the parking lot at this park. On Saturday January 13th, my car was broken into while I was hiking at the park. They broke my door handle and removed the lock so they must have had a tool to break in. They manually popped my trunk and stole all of my debit/credit cards out of my purse but did not steal my purse or my ID. They obviously had time to rummage through my things and no one noticed or said anything, the parking lot was full at the time so someone must have seen something.
The park is great otherwise and I've been coming here since 2020 for hiking, so bummed that there are thieves targeting people at this park, please be careful and do not leave anything in your car.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christina D.Santa Monica, CA11078Aug 4, 2023
Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on which side you are on) this park has turned into an off leash dog park for many. Almost no one has their dogs on leash here and to be honest, you shouldn't have a dog on a leash if other dogs are running free. Dogs that are tethered tend to be more aggressive with dogs who are not because they cant get away.. leading to a possible fight.
The biggest issue here for me is that the gophers have taken over and there are many many holes on the ground. I've seen people and dogs get hurt from stepping into the gopher holes.
Otherwise it quite a beautiful park set against the hills of Woodland Hills.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Karina R.Encino, San Fernando Valley, CA055Jun 14, 2023
I want to give this park a 4 or 5 but I simply can't due to these reasons.
To be fair, the kids playground is wonderful! Clean, safe, gated, fun, lots to do for the kids! However, the "park" itself is ran by irresponsible dog owners who FAIL to read the signs and let their giant, wild, small, hyper, dogs run OFF LEASH!! It's horrible! Also the fact that they don't always pick up after their dog is even worse when your kid wants to run in the green grass.
These people need to understand that when you tell a parent "oh my dog is nice" that means NOTHING to us, because we are realistic parents and know for a fact that yes, your dog is nice to YOU, but it takes one quick move from our kid to spook your dog and have them attack!! PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOG ON THE LEASH!!! It is a huge safety concern for the people visiting and your dogs!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
