Nothing but class in a grocery store. Going here seems to be almost a social event for the North Shore.
This is the only grocery store that I can recall that has carpeted floors. The beer selection is one of the best in the area, same with the wine and liquor. Rick, the wine sommier/liquor department head, knows his stuff so I highly suggest you talk to him about what you are looking for whether it is pairing with a dish or as a gift.
The meat and fish departments are both extensive, premium cuts, and a knowledgeable staff that makes for a great pairing when you want to talk to them about how you are using a certain product.
I love tea and they have the best Rishi tea selections in the North Shore. The produce and flower departments are also very large and the flower department contains amazing flowers and service that can help with custom requests.
Everything else is pretty much a standard grocery store but expect to pay maybe a few cents more on your commodities here.

We ordered a large fruit tray (fruit Kabobs) from Sendiks in Mequon for a baby shower the Sunday after Christmas ,December 26th.
The platter looked okay at first, but as soon as we tasted the fruit
we realized it was bad, strawberries were molded and fruit was old and some fruit not ripened. Needless to say the whole platter was left, with no one wanting to eat the fruit. The next day the lady that ordered and paid $100.00 for the fruit called with a complaint, the manager John gave her a $25.00 gift card. When she told me I said that was not acceptable.I called and spoke to another manager Dom and he was very nice and said he would credit her, but John the manager above him refused. I offered to take the fruit to John and show him the quality of their product and he said not to bother he did not want to see it, because it would make no difference. He said the fruit was fine, but HE was not at the party & he did not taste the fruit..How would he be able to make that judgement ? We had to take moldy strawberries away from children. Everything else we ordered was very good and we indicated that. No one can bat 100% all the time. When a product is inferior & just plain bad a good manager should look into the problem and make it right for the customer, that is only good customer service. Sendiks has been a favorite grocery store of our family since the 1960's, I can't believe the customer service now. I cannot necessarily blame Sendiks as much as the current management.

I just don't get all the fuss about Sendik's. I have stopped into this store a handful of times over the years and always come away with a shrug, and my visit last Tuesday was no different.
My primary purpose for coming here was to snag some Water Joe, the caffeinated water that I use instead of coffee when I am cutting out sugar and don't want those caffeine headaches in the morning due to a lack of coffee (with cream and sugar!), and this is one of the only stores in the area that carries the product. Sadly I grabbed a bum cart, it reminded me of my first car before it received the front-end alignment it badly needed.
Thankfully they had what I wanted and I perused the meat sections and the bread aisle to complete my small list. During my time in the store, not a single employee spoke to me, even when I walked by two of them in the bread aisle; they didn't even pause their conversation and declined to ask if I needed help when I took a couple minutes to find the kind of bread I normally purchase.
Finally at the register I was greeted, and also asked if I participated in Sendik's Rewards. I said no, I didn't, and waited to see if the cashier would tell me why participating was beneficial to me. That never came so I inserted my credit card and was on my way.
Again, nothing horrible, but nothing excellent, either. I dropped $40 in less than 10 minutes but didn't feel great about it. I'm far more likely to hit Metro Market the next time I'm in the area, even if it's less convenient.

Two recent issues. Undercooked (raw) Rotisserie chicken. Contacted CS, got an email back apologizing for it and that was it. Sour milk. 3/4 of a gallon of Kemp's Fat Free down the drain because it went sour in about two days. This has been a persistent issue and not only in Mequon. Not sure what the problem is, but they may want to review the handling procedures for milk. Roundy's seems to be doing a better job in certain departments than our hometown "quality" grocer.

Today, after about 7 minutes of watching Mark behind the counter flirt with Vera on the other side of the counter in the deli department at Sendik's, I couldn't wait any longer. Reluctantly drove out of my way up to Metro Market, where I got my deli needs and everything else taken care of in less time than that.

The best deli salads in town!
I was looking for Bergamot oranges (only available for 3-4 months a year). Sendiks (Mequon and WFB) were the only stores in Madison or Milwaukee that I found that carried them - and I checked ALL the grocery stores.
Thanks Sendiks!

Ok, wow ever came up with the idea of selling clothes at Sendiks!! Thank you!!! I have bought a few sweaters and shirts. I have received multiple compliments on the sweaters and when I say I got it at Sendiks, the response is really?? Yes it's true.
I love Sendiks quality of is meats, fish and deli. Now they are selling quality clothes at a responsible price.

I normally shop and always enjoyed shopping for little salad. I usually use the self check out and the customer service rudely tells I'm not suppose to Scan the fruit unfortunately when I set it down
On the registration it will scan.
I'm a customer such aggressive tone the customer representative is very unprofessional

Hi Irene-- We are sorry to hear about your experiences with customer service at our Mequon store. Please know that we take this feedback very seriously and will share this with store management. We want you to be completely satisfied with your Sendik's experience and hope that we get the chance to serve you in the future. Thank you.

Having worked in the deli at this location in the past, I have always loved the deli products. However, putting your awesome home made products out in open air, self serve, hotel pans not only dampened my enthusiasm about your product, it made me turn around and not bother taking in all the sights and smells that the store can offer.
I understand it's probably labor cost related, but if you're going to start going the route Aldis or Pick & Save would go, just lower your prices already, and change your sign to Piggly Wiggly, as I can get my Boar's Head products there now without having to pay inflated prices for everything else.
Seriously, the deli isn't nearly as welcoming as it used to be when you had your cases filled with all that great stuff, served by a staff, who were always great and smiling. Personal interaction and service is what sets your stores apart. If I want a buffet line, I'll go to that crappy restaurant in Brown Deer.

I like this market! However, not fond of how pricey it is on common items. Still, one of the best markets in the area.

This Sendiks store is totally over priced. I recently bought some items off of the Hot bar for dinner as I had company coming over and didn't have time to cook. I bought beef brisket / totally overcooked, chicken / dried out and overcooked, mashed potatoes/ these were ok. He disappointing to spend $70 plus on a dinner and the main entrees were terrible.
I am done with sendiks Fresh Market is much better.
