I really liked this place. We came in with a Groupon on a Friday night since we were in the neighborhood and looking for some drinks before dinner. It was pretty busy and smelled absolutely amazing - the source: GARLIC fries. We had to get some, along with our flight and two pints. The fries took a while to come out - a lot of people were waiting for food too - but we had a good time sipping our beers and watching the movie playing up on the wall. It was pretty quiet as far as breweries go - no super loud music. It was perfect for a chat with my partner and would be good to take older folks to as well.
The fries were as delicious as they smelled. The portion was pretty big and came with great sauces - I love curry ketchup. The beers we tried were tasty. We both really liked the farmhouse ale and the saison. We will be back, when we find ourselves in the area! - Nick H.Pleasanton, CA2981710/20/2018
This place is great. Great beers, excellent food that pairs well and isn't just fried pub food. We had the kielbasa sandwich, the cascadia plate and the Ruben. All enjoyed thoroughly. The wet bandit was my favorite for the day. Good stuff they are brewing here.
Also the shut the box game is a great social game, and props for bringing in classic games to play at a bar. - 1331203321612/16/2018
Came here for the first time today. Michael, the bartender, was super friendly and knowledgeable and fun to chat with. I really liked their beers. My favorites were their dark saison and IPA. I liked their sour as well but preferred a slightly higher gravity and tart sour. The overall ambience was pretty chill and open. I liked the music, though it could be a bit loud at times.
Their food was very good. I had a make-your-own bratwurst with added caramelized onions. The brat was perfectly cooked and juicy. Their curry ketchup was delightful and had good tomato flavor. I felt like I had too much relish and know to get it on the side in the future. Their warm German Potato Salad was super tasty with lots of visible mustard grains which I enjoy. I had a good time and look forward to coming back! - 8425411997/21/2018
Ok.....good stuff. Yummy beers and awesome food. Our charming man slave waiter was very attentive.
Had the Brauts and all the toppings. My wife had the Mac and cheese which was the bomb.
I would definitely recommend this place. - 1353801796/12/2018
IPA and porter pretty much tasted similar to one another, as well as my wifes beer. They must like that certain specialty malt. You will never know if they serve food, as menus are hidden behind counter. Outside patio is actually seating on the adjacent sidewalk. This whole place seems awkward and put together in a hurry. The ham sandwich on the special menu, was totally awesome, though. I'll give them time before I go back.
Yes, they have Wi Fi. - 49721450179911/15/2017
My first time visit was impressionable. First, the interior looks like they cut some corners or didn't expend much effort to make it look different from the previous tenant. At least add some color to the drab white walls.
The potato cakes were much better than expected, a good potion for $7. And the Rye IPA Cheddar soup was rich, the bacon and croutons make it a winner. The Onion Soup was just okay.
The C.B.C was borderline bad, but given that it's the most expensive item on the menu, I'd rate it terrible.
They're following the growing trend where you stand in line to order drinks and food, lame IMO. First, it often deters people from ordering another round, plus tips are reduced.
They are IPA and Ale heavy which is too bad for me as I'm partial to wheats, darks, and fruit-based. Sigh.
This has been a tough spot for businesses and I don't really see a unique grab that will pull-in customers. Hope they make it.

On our 2017 adventure to every single Portland Brewery, we asked ourselves, "will we ever come back?". With nearly 70 breweries in town the answer was often no. After halfway through our 1st beer at Second Profession, we Started talking about our return visits. The art on the wall is beautiful. Cool designs of local mountain views. The beers are delicious. The service was great. The brewery was easy to get to from the bus. Even though there are only a couple of beers on tap and the food menu is limited, everything is so well done. Tasty German sausages and thirst quenching pale ales.
See you soon Second Profession! - Heidi K.Washougal, WA302217392/23/2019
Absolutely delightful microbrews in a city full of breweries.
Why go here?
-Six solid choices of microbrews- brewed onsite
-Marks Morning Elixir! You like Porter? Well this one is a must try with a robust punch of espresso. Perfect for dare I say: day drinking or to sip at the end of evening. Seriously delicious.
Tried the taster tray & top 3 tastes: White wedding IPA, Sundance Kid Saison, ordered a pint of myBeth the hands down favorite-Marks Porter).
-Light & bright space with lots of windows, comfortable booths, and plants.
-Super nice beer tenders.
-Convenient private parking.
Just thirsty for beer this trip but the food looked very tempting. Next time... - 29510113191/27/2020
We enjoyed a couple of their beers while grabbing a snack at Arrowood when we were shopping in the area (they are located in the same location as that restaurant). They had a handful or so of their own beers to chose from. The Hubs had either a stout or a porter, I don't recall, but it was quite good. I had their sour ale, which had a nice hint of orange in it and it was definitely pucker-worthy. The folks were nice there, too.

I found the beers a bit bland for my taste but received good service
from the employee there!
Nice place to drink in (did not eat) but won't go back just because of the
so so beer. Don't skip it just because of my review, it's worth trying and seeing for yourself (unless you like full body or bold beers).
