Scratch Weddings

Hands down the way to go! Professionalism goes along way in our book and Liz and DJ Dos-A killed it! It started out with a "DJ tasting" in which we chose two DJs that we liked from their bios on their website. The DJ tasting was somewhat of an interviewing process for both the DJs and us. One thing about the DJs, with the exception of DJ Goldrocc, is that there tends to be an air of arrogance that turns off my husband and I. DJ Dos-A was humble, interested in meeting our taste and making a good impression. Once we confidently made our choice to hire DJ Dos-A, we connected with Liz, who was the company coordinator leading up to our wedding day. Liz was very prompt in her email responses and very friendly!

The day of the wedding DJ Dos-A did his thing without any mishaps. He hit all of our predetermined requests and incorporated even those guilty pleasure 90s hits. His announcements were flawless...no cheese AT ALL! At the end of the night, DJ Dos-A checked in with us to make sure everything was to our liking. I mean....really...could you get any sweeter than that?! He is literally the best!

We had the most amazing time at our wedding. Danced til midnight with a silent disco. And DJ Aristocat knew how to read the crowd, play the perfect songs for the demo, and take us on a journey. It was truly the funnest night of our lives with the perfect soundtrack.

Planning it all was also so easy. One quick phone call, an easy software system that lets you choose any song, and that's it! Do it!

We asked DJ Mike to give us a mix of many different types and genres of music to satisfy all of our wedding guests and wow, did he deliver!!!

Every guest made an appearance on the dance floor and my husband and I danced literally all night long. He was very attentive to the energy of the crowd and seamlessly mixed in a song my husband requested towards the end of the night for my little brother.

We could not have asked for a better DJ and are still being asked by friends and family who our DJ was and how they could book him. All-in-all we could not have asked for a better experience - the night was absolutely perfect thanks to Scratch and DJ Mike Sincere!!

Our wedding would not have been as awesome as it was without Scratch Weddings. Picking the right DJ was one of the most stressful items on our To-DO list and Scratch made the whole process so easy.

To start off with, they send you videos of each of the DJs talking about their style and approach to music. These really helped us get a feel for what each DJ could bring to the turntable. We decided on DJ A-Ko and it was the absolute perfect choice. A few days before the wedding we had a phone with him and found him to be such a nice, humble and personable dude we knew our music was in the right hands.

The night of the wedding DJ A-Ko killed it! The songs for our ceremony were timed perfectly, the music at dinner was just what we wanted and he pwned the dance floor. So many people came up to us throughout the night to compliment the music selection, the energy of the place and how packed the dance floor was.

DJ A-Ko was great at taking requests (no matter how cheesy), reading the room and playing the right song at the right time. He worked seamlessly with our photographer to make sure everything happened at the right time. He even played the part of spur-of-the moment emcee when we needed him too.

Kim and Liz were so great with communication, and made things so easy for my fiancé and me. Scratch provides top notch DJs, and I loved being able to watch their mixes and interviews on the website.

Dj A-Ko was extremely professional, and a blast to have at our wedding. The guests loved his mixes, and he got everyone moving on the dance floor. Scratch Weddings made everything so simple, from the ease of use of the online platform, to the conference call prior to the event. I would use Scratch and DJ A-Ko in the future, and highly recommend him and Scratch to friends and family. We are extremely satisfied customers!

DJ Vida!
For our wedding this March, we worked with DJ Vida independently (though Scratch also represents her.) She was incredible--so professional, knowledgable, and talented. Would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Fuse was awesome. The tone for the night was set from the very first dance and the floor stayed full the entire time from there on... Unheard of! Comments and compliments about his song selections came rolling in immediately after the reception ended and have not stopped. It's pretty tough to get a diverse crowd of ages and cultures dancing together to music they don't typically enjoy, but there was absolutely no barrier on the dance floor. It was amazing!

I've worked with Scratch in the past on different events, so I was trusting of the process to begin with, but Fuse was an absolute fit for the vibe we were seeking and he provided it and more... not to mention, some of the single ladies later asked about him..

This review is long overdue as we got married in July of 2013. How do I express my love for Scratch Weddings and our epic DJ --- DJ DOS-A? When you can appreciate the talent and work that goes behind a musician, you realize that you want ONLY THE BEST for your wedding night. We had our top 3 wedding priorities and music was # 2 (after the venue of course)!

My then fiance and I booked our DJ through Scratch Weddings about 9 months before our wedding. The entire process was effortless and seamless. The girl who helped us out, Adrienne really got it right when we explained our backgrounds and our favorite music genres. She matched us with a few options that it only made it even more difficult to decide. THEY WERE ALL AMAZING!

However, in the end we decided on DJ DOS-A. My husband felt an immediate connection from watching his video and reading his bio---both originally hailing from NYC to become LA transplants. Figures, ha! He had me at hello from his old school RnB throwbacks in his sample mixes.

The prices were very fair compared to the other club DJs we contacted. In fact, they could probably charge more! I got quotes in the $ 3,000++ range for our wedding - and no, this wasn't an Avicii DJ that I contacted. I also got quotes under $ 1,000 for a solo mobile DJ. Be warned--- YOU DEFINITELY get what you pay for!!! If you want an edgier, modern, non-cheesy DJ, then Scratch is for you. If you want the cheesy, traditional, chicken dance, YMCA, fog machines and disco lights then you probably should look elsewhere.

We originally had a solo DJ lined up but after the numerous red flags and rescheduled appointments, we ditched him FAST after I asked him, "what happens if you get sick or God forbid you get in a car accident right before our wedding day and can't spin?". His response, "Oh that won't happen. It never has". Yeah, exactly--- not a good answer or contingency plan, buddy.....Fast forward----We were sooooo glad we found SCRATCH WEDDINGS!

Let the planning begin! The entire team, Liz was our music manager, made this process so easy. THANK YOU LIZ for your great help and music suggestions -- YOU ARE AMAZING! She kept me on time and made sure every detail was covered. LOVED that. When planning your own wedding and only having a day of coordinator (see my Blue Ivy rave review), you don't have much time to dedicate to music planning. We wanted someone that we could wholeheartedly trust our big night to.

That is what we got with DJ DOS-A. He rocked out our wedding night until 1:00 AM and the dance floor was still packed! This was after 6 hours of an open bar and drinking, mind you! I don't think we had an empty dance floor all night. Our guests loved the music choices and he was able to read the crowd, while sticking to our must plays and do not play list. He threw in some old school stuff and beats that I've never heard of. So forward thinking. He was professional, easy to talk with, and simply put, he just "gets it". He's a true musical genius! THANK YOU DOS-A.

The fantastic DJ Dos-A from Scratch Weddings was our DJ for our 9/19/15 wedding. My hubby and I wanted a real wedding DJ that knew how to transition from one song to the next (seems pretty basic, but you would be surprised what we've both experienced at other people's weddings...yikes!), someone who knew how to read crowds, and someone who actually played what we asked for and left out what we didn't want to hear. I found Scratch on Yelp and called to set up a call. Kim and Liz were so helpful and so sweet in helping to connect us with a great DJ and an easy Music Match system. Dos-A did a wonderful job and got even the most stubborn/shy-dancers out of their seats to let loose!!

I recently got married on 5/25/14 and DJ Aristocat was our DJ. First of all, he started to play the wrong for our first dance, which was embarrassing. Second, the music was not very loud for dancing. Third, no one knew when events were happening such as the garter toss because the announcement was so low and so soon before the actual toss. Further, I requested that he do mash-ups with songs by mixing songs into each other. He assured me that he could do that. However, that was not done at our wedding. It was like an ipod playlist that I could have done on my computer. I would not recommend him and I would not recommend Scratch. When I told Scratch about my experience, they came back to me with how experienced he is and how he has done 100+ weddings. That is nice, but this was my only wedding and i was very disappointed!
