Worst location to shop at! This brand generally make great quality clothing, but the staff at the soho NY location is beyond rude, makes you feel unwelcome. 4 employees was huddled at the register complaining about their personal lives. Very unprofessional atmosphere. Will not be back at this location.

I walked in here a few days ago asking to see their Barfly stuff and was met with confused stares. The staff had no idea what I was talking about and then one of them proceeded to tell me that I would find what I was looking for at a barbershop.. very unhelpful

I forgot to write this review last week. Jim helped me find exactly what I needed and then some. I was asking about the classic cologne sold by the company and he showed me right off the bat. He also introduced me to the new cologne the company dropped a few weeks ago, the store didn't have any sample on hand, so he ran to the back and let me try some of his. Great customer service, will be coming back!

I love when I stumble upon a store out of nowhere, and fall in love :) And that what this was--love at first sight! I love shopping in Manhattan and all the shops and boutiques scattering the streets.
Amsterdam Couture is definition enough. The quality of the clothes is impressive---compared to some other international stores in the area with apparel that looks good, and really, the quality is poor. Scotch & Soda is on the other end of that spectrum.
Kinda nautical, kinda edgy--preppy, yet classy and funky at the same time. There are so many pieces I could see that would look amazing in my closet and so many outfits that could be put together.
If you're in the area, stop in and check it out---then go find a pub and get your real Scotch & Soda on ;p

I'm a huge fan of Scotch & Soda's women's clothing, but I will never, ever buy it at this location again. First of all, all of the brick & mortar stores are franchises, as I learned when I tried to return an expensive coat I bought. So they do their own thing, and this location's "thing" is to not honor the sale prices online ($100 less than what I paid for in-store), not provide refunds (only exchanges/credit) and not budge on that policy even if you purchased an item 24 hours prior and never wore it, have the receipt and tags attached, and it's still in the original bag.
I called the customer care line for Scotch & Soda four times over two days, left several voicemails trying to get someone to call me back, and finally received an answer that "there's nothing they can do" because the stores work independently of the retaild divison. I'm furious that I made a $400 purchase that I can't get refunded 24 hours later, and that this policy wasn't made eminently clear when I dropped serious cash on a big piece that was on sale on the website for $275. No price adjustment; no refund; terrible customer service.
Not complaining about the clothing generally--quality is good, as other reviewers have said. Loved Justin, the young guy who helped me out when I was in the store. But the policies here are not customer-centric in any way, and it shows.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nazira Z.Brooklyn, NY914Jun 28, 2017
I really like their style! BUT.....Don't buy anything on-line. I have bought jumper over a week ago, and although it promises 2-7 days Delivery with UPS, they haven't even shipped my order. On top of that when I go to the order history it says I haven't ordered anything. How can that be!! I am trying to call the US customer service but no-one picking it up. I am leaving NYC in 2 week and the order not even shipped yet. Tried to call the store to assist me in some way but they were useless. Very disappointed!

Scotch & Soda makes great gear and I wish I had an unlimited bankroll because I could easily fill my wardrobe with rags from here and here only. Unfortunately, the clothes are quite pricey and I have to find something so unique as to surpass Uniqlo, which is right down the street and has far cheaper, just as attractive, and of equal quality clothing.
But clothes alone don't make a store, and I've had some lamentable interactions with S&S staff, who apparently are in competition with Etiqueta Negra staff for snootiness and condescension towards their customers.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tony L.San Francisco, CA727127017Jan 31, 2011First to Review
Trendy. Hip. Casual. Outdoorsy. With a touch of European flair. These are some of the words I'd use to describe Scotch & Soda.
I stopped by here on a walk through SoHo and was immediately impressed with the the details and the fabric of the clothing. Sure, it'll going to cost you an arm and a leg, but at least you know it's gonna last. The style is similar to what you may find at Abercombie or Polo Rugby, with it's fare share of buttoned shirts, coats, t-shirts, vests, and blazers. It's always refreshing to have another option.
On top of that, everything in the store was on sale. Nothing like hitting up a shop at end of season. I'd put Scotch & Soda on my shortlist of awesome places to shop at.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - John R.Brooklyn, NY0189Jun 23, 2019
I'm a big fan of this brand. I am not sure where all this hate for the online and putting it all on the main retail outlet is coming from. First off, this isn't Zara. The quality of the clothes is fantastic. I work in fashion design and manufacturing and still haven't quite figured out how they manage to have such amazing quality control. Second of all if something is cheaper on Scotch and Soda's main website than in store you can always ask the manager if they will honor it. No, they won't always do it but many times they will. From their perspective that's a serious lost sale that you will just get online if they don't honor it. And yes the return policy is strict and exchange only for sale items, it usually is strict at higher prices contemporary boutiques not owned by a major corporation. I love the experience of the stores and never have regret a purchase. I consider myself to have obnoxiously high standards too. As long as you go in looking for something special but wearable, you'll have a great time.
This isn't Amazon folks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
