I really wanted to give it a 3, the service was good, Ken was an excellent server. He made suggestions, chatty, but appropriate. He was so polite.
The place was very clean.
The food was just not that good. For $140.00 for 2 apps, and a shared meal, I expected better quality. The calamari were all small pieces, right out of the bottom of a box of frozen. There were a lot of red pepper rings to bulk up the app to make it look larger and a better value. . I couldn't eat the dip served with the toast, it was gross, my husband didn't think it was that bad, but would never order it again. The main looked great but tasted like cheap white grocery store Alfredo from a jar.
For the same money I'd rather go to any other Italian restaurant. The city has a number of restaurants where the sauces are made from scratch, carbonara shouldn't be squeezed out of a plastic bag, and nothing comes premade frozen in a box.
Do not recommend this chain. Not going back.

What's with all the bad reviews? I thought it was great!

My team and I came for lunch and was met with a pleasant server and the food never disappoints. I had the 'hungry carnivore' pasta, and it was very good. Chewy noodles, plenty of meat and a generous portion!

We have one teammate who requires a halal option, and Scaddabush serves halal chicken! Very inclusive!

We also stayed and chatted for a while without being rushed out.

A slightly pricier option but the food was really good and flavourful! They were able to accommodate to your preferences or dietary restrictions, such as excluding meat for vegetarians.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, and they provided prompt service. The interior is cozy and makes for a good spot to hang out with friends.

The space is beautiful and can fit large parties, we had 15 people for lunch. Service was great and attentive with the appetizers, mains and desserts coming out quickly.
The food itself was presented beautifully but the flavours were just okay. The appetizers (calamari and bruschetta) were better than my main. I had the chicken parm. which lacked flavour and the noodles were way too rich. Cocktails were fantastic!

I've always enjoyed coming here for pizza and pasta after shopping at STC, so I was surprised by the low rating.

The pizza was great and I enjoyed the dishes for their "A Taste of Campania Menu" (I'm not sure if that is only around for a limited time)

For salads, I would recommend the Caprese Panzanella if you are sharing with a 2-3 people and don't mind manually splitting the cheese.

I really wanted to like this place more because I had a really wonderful time a couple years back. My favourite item during my first visit was the mozzarella and also the service was always really friendly.

My most recent visit was no exception to the friendly service and I really liked the ambiance there as it was very rustic with the wooden theme, sophisticated and classy.

Order the charcuterie board with the mozzarella and I really enjoyed that it came with salt fig jam prosciutto and toasted bread with salted butter. This is my favourite dish of the meal. The pastas took a while to come out but that happens sometimes.

Order the Bolognese and the pesto penne (both around $25 each). For some reason the Bolognese came out cold, including the meat. Both of these pasta sauces were really oily and flavourless. Gave all parties a REALLY bad stomach ache. :(

I'm really disappointed with the pasta as I heard great things about it, and I'd only come back for the service, ambiance, and appetizers.

We had dinner on a weeknight. Service was great. Food was good. The noodles in the shrimp pasta was over cooked. Everything else was good. The spinach and artichoke dip was the best I've ever had! The toasted bread was perfectly crispy. They gave a chocolate cake for the birthday celebrant. We stayed until closing time, but no one told us it was closed until we noticed we were the only ones left in the restaurant. It was nice of the staff not to rush us out.

If you're in the mood for some pizza and pasta, then Scaddabush is worth checking out. I recently tried their roasted mushroom & truffle gnocchi, and while it was delicious, I have to say that the value wasn't great for the portion size. The prices are a bit on the high side, and I found myself wishing there was more on my plate.

That being said, the quality of the pasta is up to par, the sauces are rich and flavourful. The restaurant itself has a cozy ambiance for a night out with friends and family.

Overall, if you're looking for a nice night out with some delicious Italian food, Scaddabush is definitely a good choice. Just be aware that the portion sizes might leave you feeling a bit hungry for more, both in terms of food and value.
