Sarku Japan Sushi Bar

This place is located in the food court of Westfield mall or aka Garden state mall. Like any other food court, you order then wait then pick up. Their teriyaki chicken is the biggest seller and gets served with steam veggies. You can ask for an alternative such as no rice extra veggies, or take noodle instead of rice, etc. Food is consistent but on a bit salty side for my palette. Steamed veggies are cooked with no seasoning to balance the saltiness. Friendliness of the staff 2 stars, food 3 stars, convenience 4 stars.

Can't go wrong with Chicken Teriyaki and this Sarku location is definitely one of the better ones. Ordering was quick and easy and being that I visited on a weekday there wasn't much of a wait.

Food was piping hot and the wait wasn't too bad only maybe about 2-3 minutes. It was all done very efficiently and food turned out quite delicious. Besides Chick-fil-A they're usually the second longest line so definitely seek them out if the wait doesn't look too bad

Always good take out spot for sushi. Quick service and plenty of choices. Special offer, order 2 regular rolls and get $1 off.

This is a staple when I come to the mall, and I'm hungry. Brings back memories when I used to come to the mall when I was a teenager. Back then this was the best choice. Now, there is a lot more to offer. This fast food greased up flavored chicken hits the spot. Always cooked fresh in front of you.

This is a great spot to stop at when shopping at the mall! When I finished shopping I headed over here to get some of my favorite chicken teriyaki. I ordered Chicken Teriyaki with White Rice and Double Meat with a Large drink. The meal itself was great, I've never been disappointed with the food at this place. But the best thing about this place would have to be the workers there. I witness one of the rudest customers ordering behind me and the staff handled the situation with the utmost respect, patience, and professionalism. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a quick tasty meal!

The hibachi is diagonally located from the sushi stand, which is at the center at the beginning of the food court.

Pros: you can ask for the chef for extra teriyaki sauce for the white rice but this place usually give a good amount so no complains. Their food is average but I definitely prefer it than other fried food at the food court. The sushi is made fresh after you order. They leave all their condiments/utensils for the sushi stand aside so you grab what want. If you want spicy mayo, just ask and they will give you a small container of it. There is sales special: If you order 2 rolls of their specials, there's a dollar discount. For 3 rolls, it's a $1.50 off.

Cons: there's separate location for the hibachi and the sushi stand. The downside is there's two lines you'd need to make to place your orders. When you ask for your order to go, they give you a bag that basically said "bag it yourself".

Overall, the taste is mediocre like any other Sarku Japan. The sushi tastes much better than Yo Sushi, which is a sushi restaurant located on the 2nd floor nearby the carousel.

I like going around the food court and seeing which restaurant offers the best sample and I chose to eat at the one that stands out to me most. Sarku Japan usually wins because their chicken teriyaki is just so good. It also brings back good memories because my friends and I use to come to the mall all the time and we would always get Sarku Japan. Affordable, quick, greasy goodness, can't beat it and I will always love Sarku.

Ordered through Uber Eats from here to my office today. Kept it simple, went with 2 classics to see how they will deliver. Ordered Spicy California Roll and 3 piece of Shrimp Tempura. Everything arrived in less than 30 minutes and was delicious. The problem with ordering fried foods delivered is they tend to get soggy. However, the shrimp tempura were crispy but not oily. I think I found my new favorite lunch delivery spot.

When you go to Sarku, you know what you're getting - pseudo "Japanese" food that is basically a well done Chinese stirfry with teriyaki sauce. So, no complaints about the quality of this Japanese cuisine!

Compared to the other food court selections, Sarku is one of my favorites. Super tasty chicken, a huge carb load of rice and veggies on the side. If anything, Sarku is incredibly predictable and consistent with the taste and quantity you're getting. They also have a Rewards Card where every 5 stamps gets you one meal free.

Never gotten sick from their food and never noticed a significant health concern. Better than the Chinese places right next to their location.

Nibbly deliciousness!!!! The only place I really ever get sushi from and I am never disappointed. I always get their volcano roll which comes with crab, avocado, cucumber topped with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. Be sure to grab an extra side of spicy mayo! I would highly recommend after a long day of shopping at Garden State or just a grab and go from anywhere. It the only thing I go to the mall for nowadays.
