Sapphire Indian Restaurant

The food was good, but they were 30 min late with the delivery! The expected wait time was an hour anyways, but come on, at least give me an ETA before the delivery is 1.5 hrs. I called several times to ask if the delivery guy was lost and the person did not understand English and kept saying "Yes, ok." "Is the guy lost? I can give him directions." "Yes, ok." "So is he lost?" "Yes, ok." Absolutely infuriating.
NOT worth the aggravation. Find another Indian Restaurant that delivers.

Ordered the lunch special on a snowy Monday. Ordered through their website, and was called right away with a pick-up time.

Got the Chicken Tikka Masala special, which came with the chicken, a veggie (some sort of eggplant/lentil? I did not choose it, but it was delicious!), rice, naan, chutneys, and a soda.

The pickup was very smooth; the restaurant was adhering to all social distancing protocol, and the meal was extremely hot and fresh.

The chicken tikka masala is the perfect balance of creamy/sweet and spicy, and the vegetable side was a delicious and unexpected plus. For $10, it's an unbeatable deal for the amount of food you get. I moved in right around the corner about 6 months ago, and can't believe I'm only now trying Sapphire.

A Dekalb gem -- can't wait to go back.

Oof, I hate to give this a bad review, but it really doesn't deserve better from my experience. I am skeptical of the positive reviews.

I was there on an early evening. There was one party of 4 waiting for service. I was waiting to put in a takeaway order. The group had waited so long that they left without even having a chance to say goodbye because no one came. Red flag!

I ordered two appetizers. One of them was the cauliflower Manchurian which is my favorite indo-Chinese dish ever and one bite, you could tell it was at least 2 days old. Yikes. The other dish was a potato based, but there were barely any potatoes in it. They filled it with nimkis (fried crackers).

Do not order from here!

-waited another 20 minutes until I called
-no answer - phone just kept ringing
-called multiple times to get through
-finally gave up and cancelled order
This place has terrible service. Indian restaurants are a commodity here, so just order from another one and save the headache.

This restaurant just opened and they were having a 40% off dine in special so I decided to try it. It's fairly small inside but roomy enough that you aren't too close to other diners. The food was amazing! I had the garlic shrimp appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised when it came out with a balloon made of bread. I had the chicken tikka masala and asked for it spicy. The waitress asked if a wanted medium or hot and I chose medium. Next time I will definitely go with hot. It had a great flavor and a delayed heat but could've been spicier. The mango lassi was good but a bit too yogurt-y for my liking. I feel I could've used a spoon rather than a straw.

I will definitely be going back. Saw a few dishes on other tables that looked delicious. They get extra points for packing my leftover chicken tikka masala with rice! I had just a bit leftover and no naan or rice left so it was really nice of them to add the rice.

Food delivery was very late. When I called to check the status, the woman who answered the phone said "Fine. I'll call the delivery guy and tell him not to deliver your food. But we won't refund you for it either." When it finally did arrive, I ended up getting food poisoning (most definitely from here as I haven't eaten a meal that wasn't prepared at home besides this one in weeks). Avoid. Awful.

Getting late night eats is really a grab bag, so I usually don't hold my expectations too high. Sapphire Indian Restaurant really delivered (literally, too). I messed up my order and was able to resolve the issue very quickly. (Because no one wants a mild chicken tikka masala!) The order arrived in about 30 minutes: nice and hot.

I'm also a pretty avid chaat connoisseur so I had to try their Papri Chaat. It was pretty solid. Nice size portion. Perfect crisp to yogurt ratio.

Fantastic Indian food! And I'm Indian! Also, they are a BYOB, which makes for an affordable dinner and drinks.

The place can be a little empty at times but don't let that steer you away! I think many people order delivery from here but they have a good discount for dining in.

Used to be good, NOT ANYMORE. sometime around May 2019 they changed something in the kitchen, maybe the cook - the naan is dry, rice got no flavour, the chicken tikka masala is blend and not creamy as before.... Nah. Don't believe the reviews! (Owner not willing to do anything about it, so if you got a problem they're gonna tell you to f* off)

We thought we would try something new.
We will be sticking with Bombay Grill on Bedford from now on.

Excellent place. Biryani is excellent.
I used to live in India for six months so I have high standards. I've been back twice to this restaurant and both times it was very good. Hassan The waitor/owner? is very kind as well. The decor is simple and clean and you can tell they care.
