Love the Zumba classes here with Maite or Yoli! Its fun to go to a family-friendly gym. Only slight issue with this gym is the parking always gets full but come equipped with a smile and some patience and you'll be fine!

I live in Santa Barbara part time and I love the classes at this YMCA. Every instructor is amazing. I enjoy going here.
I recently had an issue with my membership and I made several attempts to resolve so I made one last attempt today before I lost my mind over it. Tracie (sp?) the new manager called me back she was great. She needed to talk me off the ledge and she did in a very professional and kind manner. She didn't shy away from a difficult conversation, she stepped up and worked it out with me. Thank you for your willingness to call me back and discuss!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 8, 2023

Shoutout to my happy place! I can space out on the machinery and walk for hours and miles without having to turnaround and go back, no one is making intense eye contact with me through a mirror while grunting, and the machines are clean :)

Me and my family love this place. They have so many activities for the families like pool, stream room, basketball and outdoor soccer. Service also very good. If you looking family's time. This is a good choice.

Disrespectful Management, Lifeguards and Gym Members! Having a membership here for almost a year now has finally brought me to this unfortunate conclusion.
A week ago I take my sons to go swimming there and while there are other families coming in at the same time, some lifeguard decided to immediately start telling me what I can and cannot do and if I'm dropping them off when I'm in swim gear! Then says, I haven't seen you before. And? What does that have to do with anything! This isn't my first time here nor taking my sons to go swimming! Mind your own business. If I have questions I'll ask. Then other kids start jumping in the pool, so my sons jump too. This guy leaves and comes back to tell me that they cannot jump in the pool that way (cannonballs). So now other kids (white) can but my black sons can't?!
Here's the kicker, today I go shoot some hoops, 1st one there and some other lady setting up pickle ball on the opposite side of the gym. I ask the attendant if I need to leave? He replies with a no, you can finish. Pickleball has a designated time. Okay, no worries. Almost done and the same lady comes over to the court where I'm shooting and running back and fourth to just push me off the court. I then tell one of the gentlemen playing and asked him for 5 more minutes and I'm all done. This Lady wasn't having it. Not only did she not move but starting bad mouthing me. "You're a f*cking idiot, you need to leave, we have this reserved, get outta here", etc. So instead of completely loosing my cool, I go let that same attendant know what's going on and proceeds to tell his manager named Issac! This guy could care less and to make matters worse he's trying to justify that it was ok for this pickleball woman to speak to me like that. He looks at me with disgust and as though he didn't have time to hear about what happened, so I ask him "Do you even care what people say about this place?", No answer.
Just looks at me with this mean look on his face. Upon leaving I see one Black attendant that heard the whole thing and I tell her "See!" "White privilege for you", she laughs and goes yup! I hear it and see it often.
Moving forward, I'll just leave when I see a lot of those "players" show up and doubt I'll be renewing my family membership here. Bottom line, lifeguards need to be retrained since most of them seem to have a terrible attitude and upper management needs to be retrained how to be empathetic to everyone and actually try and help instead of doing absolutely nothing. When I was leaving the manager Issac had said he'll go talk to her. He did NOTHING. Issac is the WORST. $118 per month for this?!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hands down the best gym in Santa Barbara.
I love the variety of classes and instructors; especially the yoga classes (7 days a week). I love the indoor and outdoor equipment options, the pool, and steam room. I haven't tried the cycling,, pickleball, basketball (indoor & outdoor) or racketball, but it is very popular.
The front desk staff is exceptional; especially the early morning crew-Andrew and Tiffany.
The best part is my membership includes access to most Ys across the country while I'm traveling.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Best place to work out in SB. I dig because of all the machines inside and outdoor spaces. Plus a nice pool and always friendly staff.
