Order:
* Fruits
* Veggies
* Tomales
* Korean dumpling
* Fresh ramen
* Fresh mochi
* Fresh bread
* Etc, etc, etc
Pros:
* First, the location is unmatched. Clean, spacious, easy parking, easy access, best view of any market in the Bay.
* The variety of vendors and offerings should hit nearly all your culinary needs.
* Plenty of nearby seating to eat after shopping and take in the sun and views.
Cons:
* The Foster City market has a few vendors that I prefer over the San Mateo one.
Comments:
* Overall, I would always recommend this one to any friends or guests. I think it's worth going a bit out of your way if you're looking to mix it up on a Saturday morning.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jan 12, 2024
One of the better Farmer's Markets in the Bay Area.
Lots of parking, great running trails, more vendors, what's not to like?
I'm tired of just one small row of vendors, so seeing multiple rows was like WOW!
They also have--get this---portable toilets! OMG! And washing stations.
You want coffee, pastries, fruits, meats, veggies, small mom and pop shops and food trucks....it's here for your lazy Saturday.
P.S: The Chairman Bao truck is here which is 50% of the reason why I came here.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 10Oh no 1 - Jan 6, 2024
A large farmer's market with tons of vendors and plenty of parking. On the bougie vs. gritty scale, this is definitively bougie. Recommend arriving before 11am, because some of the farmer's start to sell out / close shop.
Particularly strong on baked goods, with seven bakeries! I got a chicken pot pie from Snapdragon baking and it was excellent! Reheated at home in my oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. It was a perfectly flaky crust and delicious filling.
Loved seeing Far West Fungi there, they have delicious mushrooms at great prices.
Here's a full list of all the stands that I remember seeing. Overall, there were about 50 stands:
Fruits & Vegetables
Fifth Crow Farm: Large variety of veggies
Ken's Top Notch: Asian pears & oranges

One of the bigger and nicer Farmer's Market with regard to variety, quality, number of booths....and the view on a clear day!
Usually, a trip to the Farmer's Market is a quick visit and leave. Since it's been awhile and was looking for mulberries I decided to look around a bit but after the 2nd aisle (about 5) had bought plenty! Mulberries, blueberries, Shima's Jerky Chips, El Portenos kale empanadas, tarts/pies and breads...oh I think I'm done! Got a bit overzealous and bought lots. Of course, it wasn't all for me!
And yes, they offer Kettle Pop kettle corn! Can't leave without any so picked some up for the nieces and nephew as i noshed on the way home...hey, gotta make room so the bag can be closed
Located at the College of San Mateo towards the back by the Science building. When you see the signage for College of San Mateo on W Hillsdale Blvd, make that right (GPS will direct to W Perimeter Rd) and stay to the right and follow the signs! Basically, just follow the cars in...
I went about 930am and it wasn't too crowded but slowly getting there. Plenty of lot parking. Bring your own bags, and cash for "just in case" as one stall out of 6 couldn't read my card! Bah!Helpful 32Thanks 2Love this 29Oh no 0 - Aug 12, 2023
Amazing hilltop location with view of bay
At least 30+ booths. Outer loop is fruits, veggies, fresh eggs, mushrooms, free range meats, fish. Inner loop is cooked/prepared foods like pastries, kettle corn, bolani.
Rodriguez Farm for organic strawberries! One of longest lines but moved fast. Far West Fungi for fresh mushrooms you don't get in store. Most places accept cash or card.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 2023
Quick take: One of my fav locations
I love incorporating a trip to the Farmer's Market whenever possible. The College of San Mateo is one of the bigger locations. It's perfectly located on top of the hill overlooking SM.
Lots of options for fruits, veggies, flowers, honey, soap, hummus, juice, baked goods, food trucks, kettle corn, cooked/prepared foods.
It's a great spot for some exercise too.Helpful 12Thanks 2Love this 8Oh no 1 - Liberty M.Belmont, CA11923Feb 23, 2024
One of my favorite farmers' markets! There's a nice variety here for very good prices. I try to go every week. Lots of parking, too.

One of the biggest farmers' markets I have ever been to. Tons of local Bay Area businesses that specialize in produce, meat, honey, fresh juice, coffee, plants, flatbreads, and the list goes on....
Some of my favorite vendors were:
+ Bolani: Specializes in vegan sauces and Afghan flatbreads! Absolutely delicious and they give free samples.
+ Xiong Farm: They have so many different kinds of eggplants! I bought two HUGE Chinese eggplants from them and they were so fresh.
+ Sweetdragon Baking: PLEASE try their chicken pot pies!! OMG, they are are to die for! I highly recommend bringing them home and putting them in the toaster oven for 10 minutes. EXCELLENT.
+ Roli Roti Gourmet: There's just something so satisfying about seeing some rotisserie chickens rotating away inside of a food truck. The line gets pretty long here. Very popular vendor.
+ Ken's Top Notch: In the summer, they have TONS of fresh mango nectarines and white peaches! Super sweet and they give free samples of all their fruit.
+ Hidden Star Orchards: REFRESHING juice! Perfect to sip on while you're walking around the farmers' market in the sun. I recommend the Apple Cherry Cider. Only $3!!Helpful 47Thanks 0Love this 47Oh no 1 - Josephine B.San Mateo, CA288186200Apr 8, 2023

I wanted to check out a locals farmers market and found this one not gar from me.
It was a pleasant visit, a bit expensive for a farmers market..but idk maybe thats normal here. Nonetheless I'll be a regular here...every one was so nice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 98710657Oct 4, 2021
One of my favorite farmers' markets to date. I don't think I've ever reviewed a FM, but I loved this one so much, I had to. It's in the CSM parking lot (note, Google / Apple Maps indicate two results for the market, so double-check that it's the CSM one).
There are a number of vendors for fresh produce and flowers, freshly cooked and baked goods, and a few food trucks (for lobster rolls, rotisserie chicken, steamed buns). My favorite was the tamale stand, which tends to have a line and sell out early.
Start your weekend off correctly and head to the farmers' market. My routine is: hit the coffee stand, buy a pastry (varies!), then stand in line for tamales while eating and caffeinating. When sufficiently stocked with tamales, make way through all the fresh produce and stock up for the week. It makes me feel like 'That Girl' and I love it.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
