Same Same

This place is GREAT. The menu is small but don't let that fool you. This allowed them to perfect the items they do serve. I highly recommend the Tom Kha soup, wings, pickles, curry & khao soi. The drinks are interesting too. Service is phenomenal.

My wife looked really hot in the lighting as well. Good ambiance

I really hate leaving bad reviews. But sometimes you just have to warn other good people to be aware.

Buyer beware. Take your receipts. The bartender is giving himself fat tips!! I have the receipt.

If you go to this spot make sure you take your receipt with you.

To the smug loser bartender who gave himself the fat tip...Amex refunded me. If management doesn't fire you they are just as stupid as you are. Nice try partner!

This is one of my go to spots! They have amazing drinks with quite a selection. The vibes and the ambience are just what you want from a fun cocktail bar. They even have some honestly amazing Thai street food. The menu isn't huge, but honestly everything I've had on it has surpassed my expectations. When I get off of work and I want to have some quality food, this is the place that I will go. Also, of course, for that delicious after work drink. The bartenders are very skilled and have a lot of passion in what they do. if you haven't already, make this your regular spot

Absolutely amazing drinks and food! The customer service was phenomenal. I highly recommend this location to simply EVERYONE. The location is, different and far from your typical restaurant. I highly recommend visiting and enjoying this beautiful location

They have a great menu of craft cocktails that will knock your socks off. Ashley was great behind the bar and served up some exceptional drinks. We had a Sioux City Old Fashioned and an Espresso Martini at the special happy hour price (4PM to 6PM). We tried the Samosas, Larb, and the fish sauce wings. Solid choices and great small plates to share. Kinda trendy cool place with lots of people coming in for good eats and drink

Occupying one of the shops next to a Carlsbad sushi favorite, Same Same was not my first choice for dinner out with my beloved wife. But, the decor and atmosphere quickly changed my mind as we sat down to look at the menu. Hanging plants, bundles of dangling flowers, artwork that feels derived from various tattoo sketches, and an overall tiger motif, this place as a fun and eclectic restaurant to eat at.

I started with a 40 Thieves cocktail, a spicy blend of Tequila and Chili Oil with a hint of Lemon Juice on the back end. It was very refreshing, not too strong, and a good and tasty start to the night.

The wife and I split an order of The Fish & Chips. I have eaten this dish a few hundred times from a few dozen different places and it demands saying that this is easily one of the best renditions of fried fish I've ever had. The breading was light and crispy, the cod was flakey and had a pleasantly oily texture, and the flavor was top notch. Seriously, I think this ranks up there with Harbor Fish South in terms of flavor and enjoyability for me as some of the best in town.

Also on the table were an extra serving of the Pecorino Truffle Fries. Sliced thin to almost shoestring thickness, the potatoes themselves are cooked up nice and crispy. The cheese sprinkled on top added a nice, buttery flavoring without being too salty and was just very delightful and tasty altogether.

In the end, Same Same was both a delicious dinner and a fun experience to dine at. There's a definite need to come back to try other fare off the menu. With such a great showing in that simple Fish and Chips, that Smoked Brisket Bahn Mi and Banana Pudding HAVE to be just as good!

Great cocktails cool atmosphere, was highly recommended and I can see why. The New York mule was delicious.

Who woulda thought that a cool swanky cocktail bar exist in downtown Carlsbad. What a great find. Went on a date night and the vibe was 10/10. Love the decor in here. From the outside looks like a small bar but it has a big back section with full table service. They do have a limited food menu but it hits all the Thai goodies. I'm a sucker for Khao Soi Chicken curry. It's a northern Thai cuisine that is not served in most places. I have low expectations since it's not a traditional authentic Thai spot but was pleasantly surprised of the flavor of the fusion. Rather than your standard chicken they use a charred chicken so adds more flavor to it. One thing that was lacking tho was soup which is my fave part of this dish but our server was kind enough to get an extra small bowl of broth. As far as other bites I have yet to try and cocktails here are all on point. Highly recommend if you're in the area

Good name because it's the same as any other run of the mill bar in Carlsbad. I read in several recent reviews that it is trendy and hip . Nope. Not trendy. Not hip.

The Decor is meh. No significant changes since it was Clara's. The music is too loud to talk. But we were forewarned by friends to expect it to be very loud.

It was "Country and Western " night and not a Cowboy hat or Country theme to be seen. Just loud Country music.

Our drinks were nothing special. Very basic. My husband likes Old Fashions. It was definitely subpar.

The bartender was very nice and engaging. Otherwise- nothing new or exciting about this place. I left feeling disappointed.
