Salon Reaction

Aliya has been my hair stylist for the last 6 months. I used to get my hair done when I was overdue... Aliya is the only stylist that has kept me accountable and made the effort to educate me about MY hair! She has taken me from dark brown to ashy blonde. Every time I leave I love my look and can't wait to see what she has in store 4 weeks down the road!

I followed Vicki Hiner to this shop. It's got a great vibe. Vicki Hiner has done all my hair care for the last fourteen years and I've been thrilled with her work. I think this is the best salon she has worked for and I would highly recommend both Vicki and this salon if Vicki is not available to help someone with their hair care needs. I know several of the salon beauticians who work here. Although I've not used them (since I haven't left Vicki) I believe they would be someone fabulous as well if you needed hair care.

Why is it when I ask for a face-frame cut with a razor on wet hair you say:

"I'll cut a little bit wet and finish it up dry"

How come when I say I don't like layers in the back I end up hearing

"I put an extra layer in the back for more body"

??

I call this style the 'Wicked Witch of the West'

Thanks to the groupon deal I found this neat little salon! After my four hours brutal final I decided to treat myself to a relaxing signature facial and hot stone massage. Rachel was super cheerful and very knowledgeable in terms of skincare treatments. She explained every step of the treatment thoroughly. Even though the entire session only lasted for an hour, it felt much longer than that. I actually fell asleep because it was so relaxing.

This place only gets four stars because I thought the front desk/owner was a little unprofessional. She was mumbling/scolding the receptionist about how they need to tell the customers to arrive earlier to fill out a form. This could have been done after I left, but just a thought.

Rachel offered me the same deal so I am definitely going back for another treatment after my final in January!

I followed my stylist (Auggie) here and I have no complaints about the service of the actual salon. He seems happy and if he's happy, I'm happy!

I originally came in as a guest stylist to do a color class. I was so impressed by the beauty, cleanliness and friendly staff, I decided to join the team. 17 years in the industry, its refreshing to walk into a salon and feel welcomed and comfortable. The staff is amazing to work with, and I'm so glad I decided to make this place my salon home!

Had my first appointment at Salon Reaction today with Michelle. So excited to find a salon close to work to have my hair done. Michelle was friendly and professional, and knew just how to handle my curly hair. The woman at the reception desk (I did not catch her name) was polite and helped me right away when I came in to make the appointment and again when I arrived today. The salon was very clean. Best part might have been the warm towel around my neck while I was getting my hair washed. Nice touch.

Alan is awesome! I went in for a consultation to make my very dark hair platinum blonde and he said "I can make anything big and anything blonde" and he didn't disappoint. The prices there are very reasonable for a professional salon, this isn't great clips so keep that in mind. You definitely pay for the full experience!

I had an absolutely wretched experience here today and i will absolutely NOT be back. I made an appointment for just a bang trim today. Upon arriving, i was told that it would be just a few minutes and offered a drink. Ok so far. I sat and proceeded to wait nearly 35 minutes from the time I arrived. I did get there early so i wasn't too upset. While i was waiting the owners carried on a conversation about some current or former employee stealing intellectual property from them. Not something to talk about in full ear shot of customers. Anyway, after around 35 minutes, finally they decided to try and find out where my stylist was. SHE WASN'T EVEN THERE!!!! I had sat waiting for 35 minutes for someone who wasn't even in the building. And the owners didnt know that. Seriously? So after several attempts to contact her, they began calling other stylists to come back to do my bangs. There was only one stylist working. Apparently no one was willing to come back because they told me they would try to get me in while the one stylist was processing someone else's color. The owners offered only minor apologies and did nothing to try to keep me there. I am not trying to get free things, but i wasted a good deal of my Saturday waiting on someone who wasn't even there. Eventually the owner told me that she could try to get me in with the one stylist who was there, but she had no idea how long it would be. She did not offer me anything in the way of apology and gave me the number of the stylist that i had scheduled with, i guess so i could call and chew her out, which i will not do. I didn't even take her number down, The owner also seemed to be implying that this was my fault, as she said that the stylist had left a voicemail for me, which she did not. However, i'm not going to call her and complain about the owners poor organization. i have been to this salon and never really had a problem before, but after today, i will absolutely not be back and urge others to schedule elsewhere also. I even have an earlier review on here, but this was unacceptable.

I've been going to Salon Reaction for a few months now and there are many things I enjoy about this place. They have multiple different professional product lines, which my face and hair love, they do email or phone appt. confirmations and I work nights so it's awesome they don't call and wake me up and respect my lifestyle, everyone is so friendly in their staff and you can really tell they all get along, and they treat me and my requests with the upmost importance. This is my favorite salon in Johnson County and I will continue to return.
