Not only are the products great, but Anne is an artist that takes her time creating the right color/highlights for her client's hair that matches their skin tone. I have been going to Salon Organic for years and Anne's services are better than ever.

I've worked in the Natural Products Industry for 2 decades and discovered Salon Organic during the pandemic, when I ceased going into NYC to my hair stylist of many years. My partner and I were in search of a clean-air, natural products salon who used non-ammonia color. We never imagined we would find a new "home" and come to work with such gifted and soulful folks as Anne and Dennis.

Off the beaten path, it is an oasis filled with serenity: from the atmospheric music, to the healthy snacks and pot of flowering tea, you are welcomed in. We find it a peaceful, relaxing sanctuary, with a zen centerpiece hosting an inspiring selection of holistic styling products. Anne is a brilliant colorist and stylist, and Dennis is a wonderful stylist with superb blowouts! Anecdotally, I'll share that I feared coloring my hair for years. I never thought it possible to create a "natural" blond with color, but Anne has returned my hair to the textured, warm blond of my "natural" days which is admired by everyone I meet. Anne and salon organics is like a hidden gem. Anne was super friendly, helpful, and creative! I absolutely loved her from the minute I made my first appointment. Her salon has a relaxing earthy vibe. I loved how she decorated her place.

Her recommendations were on point and she was able to give me the look I wanted exactly. She was able to give me styling tips and made sure I was set for my next appointment.

While waiting for my color and highlights to set, she offered peppermint tea and pretzels.

One of the main reasons I chose this salon was for their product since I was pregnant. She uses 97% plant based dye and she suggests that all clients come in without perfume. She is the only stylist in the salon so there is minimal waiting and minimal fumes in the air. The salon is well ventilated and I felt super safe to have my hair dyed during my second trimester.

She really knew how to make a mamma feel beautiful and I'm so grateful to have found Anne!!

I'd give 10 stars if I could!!! Colorist and owner Anne and her associate Dennis are not only a joy to spend time with, but Anne got me back to the warm blonde color I love that suits me best following a dark ashy mistake by a colorist at another salon. I feel so lucky to have found Salon Organic, especially since the products are healthier and cruelty-free.
Anne is extremely knowledgeable and explains every color choice she is making. Further, she is a masterful artist who created beautifully placed highlights exactly how I wanted them. And, her salon reflects her calm and focused demeanor. At so many salons appointments feel rushed with stylists juggling multiple color clients at once --
even high-end ones. Salon Organic is an oasis of calm where the client is the focus. The salon also has great lighting unlike the many dim salons where you can't be sure of your color when your appointment is finished. I plan to be a Salon Organic customer for many years!! After feeling so sad and embarrassed over a totally wrong color on my head for several weeks, one two-hour session with Anne and I walked out feeling amazing! I give Salon Organic my highest endorsement.

I love this place! Anne is great, they use healthy hair color products and understand how you want your hair cut and styled. Finally, I don't dread the monthly visit to a hair salon...

I have the darkest hair possible! And have been trying to maintain a blonde mane for a about a year now. Unfortunately every time I went to my regular salon, I could not get the right color consistently. First time would be brassy, second time might finally be right, and by the third time, the highlights are a horrendous grayish that need to be toned and my hair is so dry, I consider going back to my dark hair to preserve it's health. This has been my experience, but happened yo,my girlfriend too. The year before I actually did go back to (dark) maintain my hair's health and gave it a break for a few months. My last visit at the last salon, I absolutely hated my hair. I was stuck trying to find a solution on my own and was desperately calling them (last salon) to help me fix it because I was away.

This led me here. I love being blonde and/or having highlights because it gives my hair some good volume and goes well with my naturally tan skin. I just wanted to get it right! Healthy colored hair! I wasn't sure if it was possible and I have been looking at Salon Organic for a while. I avoided it believing there is no way to be a healthy blonde and thought it couldn't happen as my hair is so dark. BUT, not only did Anne fix the last mess, she gave me a "root bump" in between to give me a little break, still maintaining a good blonde/Brown blend, and when I went in to 're-highlight my hair, it was perfect!!! And her organic products worked fast! It took long because my hair is thick and I had a full foil done, but not nearly as long it did at the conventional salon (with not so hot results). Also, she takes clients one by one and the environment is peaceful. I also love that her products are not harsh and don't smell like a ridiculous amount of perfumes! Ugh! This place is really great and is totally worth what you spend. Her highlight job worked so well I didn't even need a toner. She used a product to lighten the hairs around the foiled ones, and it just blended so well. I got the perfect golden color I have always desired and my mane feels just as good as it looks! Thanks Anne. You make me never want to move too far away from you!

I first went to Salon Organic three years ago because I was concerned about the harsh dyes causing much damage to my fine, frizzy hair. Since then I've been a loyal client! Ann is a great listener who understands the needs of her clients. Each client is an individual at Salon Organic- there is no one size fits all. No one has addressed my hair issues with the concern, care and talent as Ann has! I'm delighted with her services and products!

I have had my hair cut and colored (organically!) here a few times. The owner (and only stylist as of the last time I was there) does an amazing job and takes her time to discuss everything with you and makes sure it's perfect. If you call to make an appt. you might have to leave a message but she will call you back quickly. I was really happy to find this place.

Care and attention always lavished here by Ann, who is so talented and offers outstanding products and services to her clients. My favorite thing about Montclair is Salon Organic!

I am usually more critical about where I get my hair done but this time I thought one 5 star review and the place is organic. Why not! Well I will tell you why not. My hair turned elastic! My wavy hair was brushed in the sink and since it was fragile I lost a lot of hair. It is unmanageable and all I could do is cry when I got to my car. She knew it was ruined and did not say anything to me until I asked due to her being insistent that I get it cut. She stated next time I will need a treatment. I'm sorry but if you ruined my hair and it is not in the condition it came in, you should by all means necessary try to get it there with either deep conditioning or some kind of treatment.
