The teriyaki here is delicious and eve portions are nice. You can get chicken, tofu, shirt or beef for $5.59 a $6.59 or combo them up to about $10.50, so not a bad deal. Great smoothies and you can mix the flavors.

The place is really inviting with big windows in the front, so when you're sitting down the place is well lit without a lot of artificial light during the day. There's stool seating right near the window, a long bench along the right wall under some nice ethnic set work, and small tables that seat 4 scattered throughout the place.

As soon as you walk in you can see fresh sushi being made and then the grill is right behind that to the right of the register. The one thing that I have always loved about this place is that you get to see your food, and everyone else's being prepared.

For a place that doesn't wait tables, the tables are always clean the staff is really nice. As far as the food goes, the taste is spot on and filling. All the dishes come with rice or noodles and a side of veggies if you'd like, so it's very well balanced.

It is teriyaki and sushi, a really simple menu, so if you're looking for more, you gotta go elsewhere. I love it, it's worth it and the smoothies are very good as well.

I stopped here recently for a quick lunch and I was fairly disappointed. I had the teriyaki chicken lunch meal, which was chicken, veggies, and rice for less than $7, so it's a great price, but the food left a lot to be desired. The whole meal was very oily and the teriyaki sauce was fairly bland. The veggies were mostly cabbage and very little carrots or broccoli and it was a disappointing meal overall. It's a great deal for the amount of food you get, but I wouldn't come here again.

Sakura Japan on Market delivers to Downtown in Newark. I've ordered a few times and they are consistent with both delivery service and the food. I've gotten the shrimp teriyaki, which comes with white rice and steamed vegetables, and I think it's a good deal (and tasty, too). The sushi is good, as well. You aren't getting Nobu here, instead it's like fast food sushi, but the rolls are tight and the fish fresh. Also, that spicy mayo is on point! :) The miso soup also hits the spot.

I wasn't sure at first, but bubble tea can survive delivery. So if you have that craving for sugary milky goodness and chewy tapioca, you can get it delivered to you. Overall, I'm more than content with ordering from Sakura for delivery. Just order early or after the lunch rush.

Ordered the sashimi combo for dinner. Wasn't a big fan of the squid or octopus pieces. Their texture seemed rubbery.

The rest of the items-the salmon, yellowtail and whitefish were decent. Overall it was ok.

I've ordered from here multiple times and so far the food and the portions are great. I am a big fan of the bubble tea. The delivery takes awhile, (~45 mins) so I recommend ordering ahead of time so you're not sitting around waiting for food.

We love coming here. They're really nice and if there's an issue with your order, they make sure to correct it. If you have not had boba tea (drink with tapioca balls) you've got to try it! So good! I recommend getting the bento box because you get a variety of food. They're reasonably priced and I highly recommend coming here!

This restaurant is just like the Sarku Japan in the mall.

Recommendations:
Chicken teriyaki with noodles and vegetables

Food: Just as the Sarku Japan in the mall has the best teriyaki chicken, so too is the teriyaki chicken of Sakura a top choice. Slightly crispy texture on the checken and the noodles are chewy. A small handful of vegetables gives the illusion of healthy eating, but it's really not. Be sure to ask for a scoop of teriyaki sauce on top. The bubble teas are very tasty, but depending on the flavor, there may be a grainy texture from the flavor powder that they use.

Service: Staff is friendly and food is prepared quickly.

Ambiance: There is ample seating space and the restaurant does not get overly crowded.

Value: This restaurant is a great value at $6-7 per entree. Lunch and dinner are the same price.

I really like this place.

I've ordered from here maybe 10 times and the food is consistently good.  

I always get the same thing, chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura rolls.

The rolls are my new favorite food.  They give you a generous amount of eel sauce on top of them.

The chicken teriyaki is a steal.  These people are giving it away.  It's $5.29 and it's enough food for lunch and dinner unless you're really starving.  Half of the time that I order from here I only want the shrimp tempura rolls but then I think to myself "why not get the chicken teriyaki too, it's friggin $5" and so I order both.

When you order online, it'll say that the food will be done in 30 minutes and then 15 minutes later, you'll get a message saying that the food is done.  If you order delivery, they'll be at your door before you can brush your teeth and put on pants.

This is the second time we have ordered from them and once again there was nothing to complain about. The first time we got everything we ordered and it also came in 30 min. The food was amazing and we knew we would order from them again. The second time was even better. We always get the chicken teriyaki no matter what and I also tried some new things this time around, the sushi. Was GREAT!!! what really took it over the top, was that I only ordered 2 spring rolls, but when we got our delivery (again in a timely manner), I noticed a box with "enjoy" written on it. I opened it and it had 4 spring rolls!!! I was so happy and they were so generous. But as I continued through my bag I came across a tiny bag that had 2 spring rolls  in it. Wow. These were the initial 2 I ordered and they threw in ANOTHER 4 for us. EXCELLENT Food. Great delivery. And WAY BEYOND EXCELLENT SERVICE. Highly recommended.

This place deserves 10 stars for their super fast delivery. We ordered online from Grub Hub, and it told us to expect an hour wait. Our door bell rang just 20 minutes later! Is this an independent sushi restaurant, or Jimmy Johns?

My roommates wanted to go out for sushi, but I had the flu, and they didn't want to leave me, so they looked up sushi places that deliver. We had never heard of this place, and the fact that they had bubble tea sealed the deal. Being sick, I obviously had no desire for sushi, but bubble tea? Yes please.

The best part of the bubble tea is that they let you mix flavors, which is always a plus. I got coconut-mango with tapioca pearls, and it was one of the best bubble teas I've ever had (almost as good as The Tea Garden in St. Paul, MN). Not too sweet, but exploding with flavor. The tapioca pearls were the perfect texture, too. I'd order from here again just for the tea. (Note that all their bubble teas use dairy.)

big waste of time..I ordered for delivery from my job, and I waited atleast a hour and twenty mins before I called to see where it was. Then when I called they said it was coming shortly. After 20 mins they called me and said they cant deliver it. So I wasted about 2 hours on this place. I would never ever in a million years give them by business. I could be starving straight out of war and I will eat wendys before this dump. No customer respect or appreciation.

The service was good.  It was a bit pricy for the amount of serving.  Shrimp tempura w brown rice was yummy however they went a bit cheep on the amount of shrimps.  Chicken tempura was good as well.  I would recommend the sushi sampler D1 fair price great taste. I live close by but not too close wish it was in a better location don't like to be harassed by aimless people asking for money

Sakura's food isn't the best, but its portions are great and the meals are relatively cheap. You can also modify your order... you can double the meat for a dollar, change up the rice (brown, white, fried), add more vegetables (or remove them completely if veggies aren't your thing), and add more or less sauce.

I usually go for the Chicken Teriyaki with double chicken. Sometimes, I'll ask for brown rice or no rice (so it's basically meat on a heaping pile of steamed veggies). Overall, the food is decent, quick, and well-priced.

I went for the first time to the new addition in east orange. Ive driven past it a million times and always said id go. Happy I made the trip last night it was worth it, I bought chicken teriyaki with noodles and a black bubble tea with tapioca pearls (my first ever). Ive seen bigger pearls balls, but they taste like gummy bears not sure what nutritional value it has but its a little different and im sure better than soda, ill do my research, welcome me to bubble tea family =].... The guy in charge tried to persuade me to buy sushi but i was not ready for that, i started with the cooked food then maybe ill warm up to the raw stuff. The portions are great, my meal fed two girls and we were both full. I would recommend this more so than the Chinese food, its great plus I didn't feel sluggish afterward! It has flavor in my opinion and not too much salt, I will be investing more time into trying the whole menu and the other flavors of bubble tea! Love this place its clean you see them prepare everything in front of you and they don't have the bullet proof glass like the Chinese food places. Hopefully nobody ruins it for us I really like the way they operate friendly staff and nice since I was a bit indecisive.

Im sure if you ask a japanese person, or a diehard sakura eater this may not be the best around town but this place is similar to the sakura japan I see in the mall, just cheaper close to home and more food (win win win for me! lol)

They have three locations newark , east orange and harrison, they are doing a amazing job and I wish them the best as the continue to expand.

I like this place.   The staff is friendly.   My food was good.  I tried the chicken and a few different sushi rolls.   I only don't like the that occasionally the guy would put mixed sushi rolls in the same box.  I didn't ask that and he should ask you before doing it.

I got take out during lunch time on a weekday and it was fast. I only had sushi which was on point. This spot is very good go try it and no need for the long talk the people are cool but you won't get much out of them.

Portions are decent like everyone else said but can be on the greasy side( I ordered the chicken teriyaki) sushi is ok. Service is pretty quick but the delivery woman was extremely rude and even caught an attitude with me. Almost makes me not want to order from them again.
