Worth going back.
The garlic noodles at this place are HUGE. The portions are crazy. The taste is also really nice, with a lot of garlic and a "toasty" smell. Lots of chicken pieces that were juicy and big. Nice
Also got the pho which was pretty good. Warm soup, nice portion, soft rice noodles. Beef was not bad.
The inside is well kept and pretty clean. The seats are pretty colorful. The menu also had a lot of options, so plenty of items to choose from.

I'm surprised with their selections that they have pho to hot pot with the norm of rice plates.
They have a tv hung up for sport's channel. That's one of a kind for a Vietnamese restaurant.
Menu choices are of great variety!Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 15Oh no 0 - 94610005860Oct 2, 2016
Tried this Viet cafe to complete our Viet food crawl on San Bruno Ave. It seems like this place specializes in AYCE hotpot for $22 a person.
We were here to try out their beef pho. The broth is thinner but the sliced meats and beef balls are superb. As are the beansprouts. Some of the basil was tired.
The summer roll was chock full of ingredients and was served with a thick dipping sauce.
However, the waitstaff mixed up our order and was grudgingly slow about bringing our bill.
In the end, we have found that each of the Viet cafes on San Bruno Ave has its specialty, which is likely why there is such a fierce loyalty for each.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 73110432531Jun 20, 2018

This place is awesome. I had a craving for hai nan chicken with rice and Thai iced tea. I came in, sat down and took a look at the menu. After looking at the menu, I saw what I want and put in my order.
The hai nan chicken with rice are so delicious. That cup of Thai iced tea is so good. This meal is wonderfully quick and delicious. I enjoyed my meal.
My server and her colleague are both very friendly. The service is quick and good plus the food is delicious.

Every single time I stay over at my friend's place in San Bruno area, I come here the next day to get food. Usually it's either banh mi sandwiches or their chicken pho. I also always seem to crave the garlic noodles. Price wise, it's relatively inexpensive at under $10 a person. Food is quite tasty and the chicken pho always hits the spot. It's not overly full of sodium and the small size is quite big. I almost mistakenly thought it was a large.
Their menu is quite diverse and I tried the fish curry and it was better than expected. The curry sauce was great especially when chewing the crispy skin off the swai fish.
They renovated since the last time I came and the counter moved to the front of the store rather than the back. There's two bathrooms in the back. The crowd varies and usually it's not crowded. I never had to wait for a table but I also tend to come at odd hours.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 7, 2015
Amazed by how much varieties of food they have. First time coming here I was not impressed. Food came out sooo slow and they did not make my bun rieu right at ALLL!!! It came with egg noodles, and there was no crab at all!! Like 0 crabs. For $9 it is not worth it at all.
Won't be coming back. The other pho place next door is muchh better and cheaper too!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2015
I could've sworn... I heard almost everyone working here, talking in Cantonese? Hahahah...
Service was adequate and fast! Food well... keepin it realzzz here... the Bun Bo Hue (#18 Spicy Vietnamese Noodles $8.95) was really greasy, and lacking the ox penis. The Bun Xao (A7 - Vietnamese Crepes $5.95) portion was huge which was nice. They even used huge prawns instead of mini shrimps. Unfortunately, that too was greasy and soggy. It lacked the crusty, lightness you'll find in solid Bun Xao. The surprise however, came from their Broken Rice with Short Ribs (#36 - Korean BBQ $7.75). It was actually pretty good, and portion was not bad either. Pricing on most of their dishes was also reasonable. All three dishes totaled to about $25 with tax.
The ambience was clean and modern with adequate lightning. If you are dining alone, there are several seats up front facing the street. There were also dedicated tables for Hot Pot dining that can seat six, comfortably!!
With several options of Vietnamese restaurants in the area, I may have to think twice about coming back anytime soon. However, I certainly would not rule Saigon BBQ out completely, at least for now. I will give them another try and see if their recipe will use less grease, and more robust flavoring.
Until then, Cheers! ~ :pHelpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Tom P.San Francisco, CA20182553Dec 5, 2016
Horrible non-authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Would give 0 stars if possible. I don't mind that it's not authentic as long as the food is good. But it's not, and you might leave here on an empty stomach feeling like you got ripped off. $12 for just one slice of over-cooked beef short ribs? It was a pain in the ass to eat and tasted horrible. Also ordered the beef cube dish; it said it came with potatoes...and it sure did, in the form of fries. Was this an attempt at an Asian fusion version of the Peruvian Lomo Saltado? If so, fail.
Pro-Tip: don't come here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Feb 13, 2017
Generous portions and a decent cheap eats/dirty spoon type of restaurant in this neighborhood. Unfortunately I use the term dirty spoon literally so I can't say it's a place I would come back to unless i didn't have a better choice in the area. They are open later than most restaurants on this street which is good.

Saigon BBQ is a new restaurant in the Vistacion/Bay shore district of San Francisco. The set up is a little odd, they sell coffee and lotto tickets at the counter while functioning as a Vietnamese establishment.
The tables have a built-in hot plate for certain dishes, and the standard Pho utensil carousel (chop sticks, soup spoons, hoisin sauce, sirracha, etc.). The menu has spring rolls, imperial rolls along with Pho and Vermicelli bowls. The food is great, fresh vegetables and herbs in the Vermicelli bowl. The fish sauce is strong yet it holds up to the chili and soy sauce attack you're about to provide.
I want to give this place a higher rating, 4/5 on the food relative to the price. The service is about 2 stars, once you get your food they tend to drift off and forget about you. Great prices, very good food, but show up with an empty stomach and some patience.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
