I try to avoid eating or drinking in PB, because as most people know it is the tourist trap  of SD. Generally BAD FOOD & HORRIBLE overpriced Beer, which should be a sin in the craft beer paradise that is SD.
Passed by this place on my way to the beach and the pictures got me. I ordered a Gyro  for $10 and was surprised it came with fries and even more surprised it was actually GREAT! Very generous with the lamb, there was so much lamb it was hard to find the veggies, that's a GOOD problem to have. The fries were delicious, there weren't a ton of them but I didn't even know the cheap price included fries.
Other notes: Â They don't have a public bathroom, don't know if that means if your a customer you can use it but it's 1/2 a block from 2 public bathrooms by the beach. They also sell Coca Cola in old school glass bottles.
All in all this place reminds me of the neighborhood Gyro places I used to find in Chicago. Good service, no fuss, no muss Greek Mediterranean corner joint with solid food. Can't believe I'm giving a place in PB (that isn't Swagyu or Rocky's Crown Pub) a 5 star review. - 264117491/22/2023Updated review
I promised that I would update my review after trying the Beef Kabob Plate... The filet mignon meat was juicy and tender, but requires a bit more seasoning. The restaurant does not have Sumac in order to season this traditional dish, so I would order the Samosas on the side. The batch of Samosas this time was loaded with spices, and it complimented the dish nicely when paired with the Kabob.
The Mediterranean Fries were nothing to write home to Mom about... You will feel healthier eating these fries, which are topped with a chopped salad, but it would have benefitted from more feta cheese. The combination of feta & fries is actually surprisingly delicious.
Plus, they remembered the extra Tzatziki sauce that I ordered this time!1/15/2023Previous reviewI was a little skeptical of trying Persian/Greek food in Pacific Beach as a native San Diegan. However, Safi did a good job... I would say that despite a few mistakes, overall the food was good!
The Chicken Kabob was beautifully seasoned with saffron, turmeric, and other spices. It was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The salad was full of fresh vegetables, however the dressing lacked taste. Unfortunately, the dressing was bland and could have benefitted from some red wine vinegar and/or spices. An easy fix, but necessary especially when customers order the dish over salad rather than rice.
The Gyros Sandwich was superb. Definitely a premium Gyro, from the meat to the pita to the tapenade toppings. The fries were large and golden fried to perfection. No one likes small soggy fries, so the Gyro Sandwich w/ Fries is a hearty meal for the casual beachgoer after an afternoon on the water.
The Vegetable Samosas were tasty, but they forgot the Tzatziki sauce, which is advertised with the dish. Luckily, the Gyro came with Tzatziki sauce, so I had a chance to taste their version of this yoghurt and garlic base. It was actually well made and included dill to add to the flavor.
Finally, the desserts... The Baklava was exquisite. It included 2 pieces for a great price! The Cheesecake was spot on, and the Tiramisu was rich and delightful. Bravo so far Safi, but I need to try the Beef Kabob and provide an updated review before you guys become my go to for takeout Mediterranean food. - 092911/25/2022
This is for a pickup order, sigh. I ordered a sandwich and fries for pickup at 5:50pm on Thanksgiving. It said it would be ready at 6:29. I got a notification that it was ready and was there maybe 3 minutes after. No pickup bag in sight. I waited behind a couple ordering and showed the order. He had no clue and turned around and went back to making food. So I sit down thinking it was on its way out. Wrong. Everyone in the store got their food slow. The people in front of me, as I was waiting to show my pickup order, got their food as well. I waited over 30 minutes and when I asked he brushed me off and said wait. Why would you mark a pickup order complete if you hadn't even started it? I ordered online, for pickup, to save time. Well 40 minutes later I got my food so I appreciate that at least. But overall terrible handling.
Two stars because the food was good and there was a whole lot of it. It is apparent that the place was overwhelemed with people and maybe this was a one-time instance. But this was a bad experience so this is a bad review. - Chloe N.Arlington, VA10811285/20/2023
The food LOOKS beautiful and delicious. But the actual taste does not match and it's too expensive. This whole plate that is mostly salad costs over $20! The food overall is lacking in seasoning. The chicken and beef are overcooked and a bit hard. However, the pita, salad, and sauce are delicious. Decent place but would not recommend the kabobs

We were famished after dancing in PB and tried several places that didn't update their business hours. Safi was still open so we decided to dine here.
A friend of mine got the eggplant dish, while another got the chicken kabob entree. My other friend and I shared a gyro plate. It came with saffron rice, pita bread, and Greek salad. It was flavorful and pretty filling! - Emma B.Chandler, AZ0315/15/2023
Food is soooo good and fresh, the owner is an absolute angel, definitely come here if you're staying on mission Blvd.

I have tried the Greek salad with chicken gyro and hummus. Both dishes were great. Flavorful healthy and almost keto (minus pita bread). I will be back again for healthy lunch options. The guy at the counter is very kind and courteous, made us feel very welcomed!

This place is pretty good, a true hole-in-the-wall place that serves good food.
Food: I liked the shawarma fries the most. We stopped here for a quick bite and I am glad we found this place.
Service: Not many people at this place, we saw just two guys working so the food took a bit to come but was worth the wait.
In-all: great food, will visit again when I am in the area. - Michael W.San Diego, CA96179598/29/2022
I love this place! Â Open till midnight during the week, and 2am on weekends. Â I get a combo plate with chicken kabobs, or chicken shawarma, along with gyro meat, rice, and a salad. Â It's good!
