A friend hired him and paid a deposit for her parents' anniversary party. Due to the pandemic, DJ Mello did express some financial setbacks but also offered to refund his client her security deposit. Months have passed and nothing! After several weeks of reaching out, DJ Mello and my friend came to a repayment agreement and then he blocked her on all of his social medias in attempt to get rid of her.
If you never planned on refunding the security deposit, he should have been honest and upfront. It isn't good business practice to say you're going to do something and then don't.

Update: You have receipts as does my friend. Again, why say you would give the money back if you had no plans to do so? And who gives a contract after the security deposit has been secured without letting them know it's nonrefundable? But the email from you confirming acknowledgement of you paying the deposit back is belo

When providing services for EVERY client, I always express to them in the very beginning that the security deposit are non refundable as stated on the first page of the contract. After I sent the contract to her via email, weeks went by with her not returning her copy with her signature. She knew that by not returning the contract to me signed, she didn't have to honor the agreement in the contract and therefore I would have to pay her money back. I am not the shady person in this situation. I have the receipts to prove my version of this story. Since she is aware of what the contract says by acknowledging she received it, she will not be getting NO refunds. Thank you,

If I could give zero stars I would! A dear friend of mine booked DJ Mello for her parents anniversary party! Well, due to COVID-19 the party had to be cancelled. This man did not offer to return my friend her deposit. Did you think you were entitled to keep the money for services not rendered? My friend has sent several emails, text messages, and Facebook messages and still has not received her refund for her deposit. A few times he answered with a sob story and several promises to repay her. Not only has he not refunded her money he has been very nasty towards her! DJ MELLO is the best! I used his DJ services for multiple events and I never once had an issue. When I returned to Atlanta I and needed a DJ, he was my immediate go to.
He recently DJ and event for me and he didn't disappoint. Everyone had a ball and multiple guest told me he was the best DJ and asked for his contact information.

MelloJun 29, 2020Previous reviewPLEASE BEWARE OF DJ MELLO! If it were possible to give negative or no stars at all, that would've been my choice since 1 star is still too generous. I booked DJ Mello to spin at my parent's 50th anniversary party. He told me he requires a $150 security deposit upon booking. I went ahead and paid and he confirmed receipt of payment. About 5 days later, he sends over a contract that I also sent to my brother to review before signing. Not too long after this, COVID-19 started to get worse. My family thought it would be best not to put my mom and dad at risk given their age demographic and pre-existing conditions. I notified DJ Mello of our decision to cancel the party and asked if he could return our security deposit. He promptly referred me to the contract that states the security deposit is nonrefundable. However, when I paid him the security deposit 5 days prior to receiving the contract, he made no mention of the deposit being nonrefundable. I politely pointed out this fact, as well as the fact that I hadn't signed the contract. He agreed to pay back the deposit but stated he was not able to pay at this time. Understanding that the pandemic has taken its toll on everyone, I asked would 2 months be a sufficient enough time to repay the deposit, to which he agreed. Well the 2 months came, and when I went to inquire about the deposit, he began to tell me about he had been protesting (which still has me scratching my head as to what that had to do with repaying the deposit) and he was still not able to pay the money but MIGHT be able to pay me by the end of the month. Still trying to be understanding, I asked if a payment plan to which he would pay a portion of the deposit at the end of the month and we'd work out the other dates. The proposal went unanswered. It's now been well over 2 months and I still don't have my security deposit. It also appears I've been blocked on social media. Please beware of this guy and look elsewhere for your DJ services.

DJ Mellow is friendly, very responsive, organized, professional and brings a lot of energy to your event! DJ Mellow showed up early for our event and sound tested the event area several times to ensure that both the music and the wireless mics sounds good! The music was great, upbeat and energizing!

He is very friendly and I love his professionalism. He's a businessman and he takes care of his customers. My guest loved him. He has a great set up too! You won't be disappointed! Thanks DJ Mello!!

I found myself jamming to music that I normally wouldn't, not having a care in the world. He makes everyone feel great, and leaves a lasting impression on everyone he comes in contact with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!
