Swedish Massage Our New York licensed massage therapists and estheticians will pound, squeeze, unwind and de-tense muscles you didn't even know you had. Platza Oak Leaf Lie down while in the Russian Room and a platza specialist will scrub you with a broom made of fresh oak leaves, sopping with olive oil soap. The oak leaves contain a natural astringent, which will open your pours, remove toxins, and actually take off layers of dead skin. Some described the platza as "Jewish acupuncture". Dead Sea Salt Scrub/ Black Mud Treatment Slough off the dead skin with the exfoliating pleasures that is countless millenniums old. We import the special minerals located only available at the Dead Sea so you can enjoy the medicinal benefits without the plane ride. You'll feel rejuvenated, refreshed and ready to face the world. Soap Wash Select from the fragrant smelling soaps, such as lavender, eucalyptus or peppermint, and our professional will wash you like you haven't been bathed in months.

first time ever in a bathhouse & it was rich with new experiences! i went on Boris' week. i would definitely recommend working yourself up to the Russian Room, as that was by far the hottest and hardest to sit through. i started with the lowest temperature regular sauna (humid), then the turkish sauna (mixture of dry and humid), aromatherapy sauna (humid & nice smells are either light or VERY potent), wood sauna (dry), then the Russian Room. i recommend putting a towel over your head & dumping water on yourself with the buckets in the Russian Room for a more comfortable experience. i took a cold plunge after and it was shocking to the system in a great way. the water is WAY colder than you are expecting if you've never done this before.
the facilities were well kept & not the super-duper 100% no trace of bacteria kind of clean, but fine! you shouldn't be going to places like this if you're a big germaphobe anyway. it is not what you would call a "fancy, luxurious" spa & frankly so many of those are very overpriced anyway.
they provided plenty robes, towels, & sandals. definitely bring your own bathing suit, & your own sandals for more comfort. they also sell giant water bottles for a decent price at the restaurant's counter, and it's helpful to keep yourself properly hydrated while you are going through each room, you will be fine! clients were mostly men when i visited on a co-ed day, but everyone was respectful & mostly minded their own business. - Christopher S.Brooklyn, NY38Jan 16, 2024Updated review
This place is an institution and has a certain charm, but the operation is beyond shady. Some of the staff are unwelcoming and even hostile.
* They charge higher prices than advertised (even more if you pay with a credit card).
* They don't limit occupancy, but punish customers for overcrowding.
* Entire amenity rooms are often closed for cleaning during limited business hours.
One staff member is particularly awful:
* Closes a room as punishment for overcrowding, and then complains when people crowd the hall as a result.
* Shouted "make way, DEAD BODY coming through" for dramatic effect.
* Condescendingly lectures customers.
Once R&T Baths has your money you're an inconvenience and treated like cattle.Nov 6, 2017Previous reviewI recently attended men-only hours during David's shift when the policing of patrons takes precedence over customer experience, and service. I paid $45 to decompress in a relaxing environment only to be obsessively watched and harassed by staff, and to have amenities restricted for no good reason. During my visit one security staff member intentionally released all the steam from one steam room so that he could watch patrons through the window. He barged into another steam room every couple minutes to scold standing patrons because their presence blocked his view into the room. As newcomers entered, standing, he'd scream. This went on all morning. Eventually he shut down the steam room as punishment for "having to repeat [himself]" (there are no rules posted about not standing in the steam room). To be fair not all staff were hostile: the masseurs were all very friendly. It's also worth noting that, in my experience, patrons are treated better during Boris's shift. An illuminating quote from a review on 3/5/2016: "Security is only present during Men-Only hours and never the rest of the time as I've seen the absence on my other visits. This is discriminatory."

My friend and I got here a little early, and the place opened on time. Upon entering, we
paid for a day pass, which was $60. We gave the lady our wallets, which she locked up and we were given key for the lockers to place the rest of our stuff. There were slippers and towels available.
With the word BATH in the title, I thought there would be some sort of hot tub pool here, but was disappointed to find out they only have a cold plunge pool, which you can't really lounge in for obvious reasons. The place was very bare bones and not luxurious at all. There were quite a few saunas, as well as a couple of steam rooms.
We were able to withstand most of the saunas, except the hottest one. The steam rooms felt very nice and one of them had a refreshing menthol scent permeating throughout. We spent around 3 hours here, and it got pretty crowded by mostly male clientele.
It was nice to try it out, but I will not be returning. I would like to go to a more fancy spa spot.

Not worth $60.00. Actually got assaulted in the steam room. Bad experience overall. Not clean, rude clientele. Ripoff total.

This place is an nyc institution, so I had to try it out of curiosity, even though I hate saunas. There are lockers up front for your jewelry and wallet and a locker room to put the rest of your stuff, all complimentary. Shorts, robes and sandals are also provided, or you can bring your own. During coed hours people have to be covered up, so put away your naughty bits. There are also days that are men only, so I guess those times are clothing optional. On the lower level you will find 4-5 different saunas, the hottest one being the Russian Room at 191 degrees. They have buckets of cold water to dump on yourself while in there. The others vary in temperature, with the lowest at 116 degrees. I was disappointed that there was no heated plunge pool, but there is a cold one! No thank you! You can also order some standard American and eastern european fair to eat while there. And there is a nice deck on the roof to hang out. I wanted to try the platza, which is when you get wacked with a bushel of oak leaves soaked in a eucalyptus oil soap concoction, voluntarily for $45. But to do it, you had to go to the Russian Room. I was nervous bc that room was too hot for me, but a wet towel on your face will do wonders for making it more bearable. Plus intermittently you get some massage and alternations of warm and cool water dumped on you between wackings. I think it was about 10 minutes, but time kind of stood still while I was in there. Then Sam, the man wacking me, asked me if I wanted more treatment, to which I declined. Anyway, they have other treatments and massages available, you just have to book in advance for massages. Overall it was a nice experience. If you want to come more often they have different packages, but I believe my curiosity has been satisfied. I also want to say that the facility itself is more for the average person, and not trying to be high end or fancy at all.

First time today - was not a good experience.
Witnessed several guys having oral sex inside the steam room. Thought I was going to relax not a brothel.
Woulda been nice to get a heads up from the workers that this is expected behavior. - Jun 4, 2023
Way too crowded. They should put limits on the number of people they admit at a time. Guys were literally dripping sweat on me. That said, the male masseuse I had did a pretty good job working out some knots I had in my back. But not worth the not so great environment this place was. Go to aire ancient baths where it's much cleaner and more spacious and they have more strict limits on the number of people they allow in at a time.

I WENT TODAY AND IM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN SOMEONE STOLE CASH OUT OF MY WALLET. BORIS's week. I know for a fact it was the only place it could've happened cause I paid cash and left and noticed the second I got home. Woman at the front or the other guy she was arguing with.
I had memberships here and punchcards and have been loyal for five years and now you steal from me??? - Suzanne W.Austin, TX725Sep 26, 2023
The saunas and steam rooms are good but there is barely room to sit down. Other people are indeed sweating all around you. I agree with other reviewers; this business should put limits on how many people are allowed in there at one time. When you can't find a place to enjoy the saunas, it is not relaxing and it feels unsanitary and chaotic.
I agreed to a couple of treatments and they were mediocre. The cost was as much as a fancy spa but the environment was awkward and it was certainly not relaxing. I left spending a small fortune and I could not wait to get out of there. Perhaps it would have been better to just do a day pass and no treatments when it is less crowded. I would think they would waive your day pass fee if you are doing treatments because there was no room to sit down in saunas. I do not recommend this experience and would not go again. - Yelp U.New York, NY051Sep 20, 2023
I went to Leon's restaurant and was impressed with the food. Leon always uses the same recipe, so the food is consistently delicious. You can tell that Leon is passionate about his work because the dishes he creates are incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants consistently delicious food.
