We come here very often. The food is delicious and the service is superb. Ayoub is always nice and hospitable. Our favorite Indian restaurant in LA. The ambiance is nice and not too loud so you can have a normal conversation while enjoying your food.
If you're looking for your next favorite place, this is the one.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rochelle S.Valencia, Santa Clarita, CA01Mar 25, 2024
Amazing food and service! Everything was delicious from the samosas to the dessert. My picky kids loved the mango lassi, chicken Karahi and naan so we could all enjoy a great meal together.

The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The Orange Chicken (as well as many other dishes) was off the charts good Tea and appetizers chips that you will find NO WHERE ELSE come with your sit down in house meal. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you want good food.

We finally made it to Royal Tandoor for a sit-down meal. We have ordered in multiple times before this, but felt like just going and seeing what it was like.
It was good.
As in my previous review, we were all struck by the quality and flavor of the food, which was exceptional. Most of our choices were the same as usual, and all save one were vegetarian and vegan.
The place is very clean, there are Bollywood shorts playing on large screen TVs, there was a buffet room and our room (we decided to skip the buffet and order from the extensive menu, conveniently set under glass on the table tops). We were impressed with the fact that they immediately comped us bottled water, and they topped off the meal with a huge plate of perfect gulab jamon -- again, extras that make the difference. The masala tea was bottomless and they didn't charge for it. More than generous.
If there were any disappointments at all, it all had to do with the service, which was unusual. Our first server seemed to be learning English, but was very considerate to ask if any of our dishes needed to be vegan. He then forgot my masala tea. We flagged down another server, after waiting 15 minutes for ours to return (he must have gone out on a break) and asked for the tea, which he also promptly forgot. Not until the meal was almost over that a manager or owner stopped by and upon being asked, made sure the tea arrived. After that we could refresh it at the buffet without charge.
All in all, I still love this place. It doesn't have masala dosa, which I love, and the ambiance is limited (but clean!). I would hesitate to return for an inhouse meal but may have to chalk it up to the 3 pm time we were there, an in-between hour for most restaurants.
However, despite these minor glitches, we appreciate Royal Tandoor and will definitely continue to order take out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 12, 2018Previous reviewExceptional food and extras are the reason I am giving Royal Tandoor a top rating.
By way of background, I have been a huge fan of Indian food since I was in college and have eaten in dozens and dozens of Indian restaurants since then, including in India. I know what the food should look, smell and taste like.
We had been frequenting a different Indian restaurant in Valencia up to this point and we still like it. The night we tried Royal Tandoor, that other place was inexplicably closed for most of the day -- no real explanation, just closed. So, we decided to take a chance and look around for its equivalent. We did this with some hesitation since Santa Clarita is a meat and potatoes bastion.
I always start by reading Yelp reviews and after reading every single one for the other decent places in our area, chose this one. We were so surprised. We ordered take-out, and so this is not a review of sit down/dine-in service, but I am sure we will go another time. Certainly, we will be ordering from Royal Tandoor in the future.
We had drawn up an extensive list of items for our other restaurant and tallied the total. We were able to get every one except a single item at Royal Tandoor and it came out to substantially less. Not only that, they threw in a large container of Gulab Jamun, my favorite Indian desert, for free. Wasn't that a nice touch?
What did we order? Onion bhaji, Tandoori fish tikka, Aloo gobhi, Channa masala, Vegetable korma, Saag Aloo, Vegetable Biryani, Garlic naan, Onion kulcha, and Mango pickle. Every single dish was perfect: flavorful, spicy without being painfully hot, in carefully sealed containers, bagged up, and prepared quickly.
The Health Department gives this place an A rating, which is really important (I am a HAACP expert!). Friendly, generous people, clean place, delicious food, reasonable, even low prices, quick service, extras. Now this is where we will go in the future. - Enrique S.Upland, CA151155141Mar 7, 2024
Food and service were both excellent! We came for a weekday birthday dinner for my mom since Indian Cuisine is her favorite. Royal Tandoor was so delicious! Best Indian food in SCV and out of SCV. We ordered:
1) Palak Paneer
2) Shrimp Masala
3) Butter Chicken
4) Lamb Curry
5) Tandoori Mixed plate (it was huge)
6) vegetable Biryani
7) garlic naan
8) basmati rice
Everything was so delicious. Only thing I will say is that the Biryani was too spicy for our taste (we ordered everything mild and I'm not sure if the Biryani can be ordered at different spice levels), but that is just personal preference.
The service was amazing as well, we felt so taken care of like we were guests in their home.
We also had their Mango lassi (soooo delicious)! Mango kulfi, and their gulab jamun (my favorite and a must try for dessert).
Ambiance: restaurant was clean! This is the first restaurant I went to in the last 2 years where I did not feel the need to Clorox wipe the area my daughter sits at. Amazing!
Thank you for the amazing experience. My mom was so happy for her birthday. We will definitely be back!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mimmi L.Newhall, CA44176Mar 4, 2024
This review is not about the food. Their food is one of the better Indian foods made for American palate.
This review is about ordering take-out from their web page online. A third party manages their web page. So when they make a mistake on the pickup orders, it becomes a hassle and costs you more money in time trying to get your refund. They package the orders so well it is not easy to open and check and we fear it will spill in our car. By the time we get home, we realize we are three items short. Today is not the first time we have been shorted with our orders, but it was the first day we tried to get our money back. After one hour, we are far from a refund.
First, Royal Tandoor gave us a number for a company called Cloder. Cloder denied managing their order. Looking at their receipt, their order is managed by myMozo. So, we called myMozo. However, there is no one answering at myMozo and they want us to leave a message. Therefore, it is highly unlikely we will ever see our money. I have now spent more money in my efforts to get a refund, and writing this review.
If you order online, check your order before you leave the restaurant even if it means a mess to avoid the hassle of a refund. Hope this review helps even one person.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 3985149Feb 17, 20241 check-in
After a quick shopping spree in the area, my husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found.
The space was welcoming, with plenty of seating for guests looking to enjoy a meal. The decor celebrated the vibrant cultures of East India, and Bollywood movies added a lively backdrop to our dining experience. Thoughtfully, my husband let me sit near the TVs so I could enjoy the films.
We both decided on the coconut milk curry - he went with lamb, and I chose chicken. It was a hit for both of us, perfectly catering to those who prefer dairy-free options without compromising on flavor. Alongside, we indulged in garlic naan and peas rice. Given the generous portions, designed for four, we happily had leftovers for lunch the next day.
Service was a mixed bag; we found ourselves seeking the waiter's attention a few times. While the staff wasn't overly warm, they weren't unfriendly either. As we were leaving, the manager inquired about our experience. It was a simple gesture, but it rounded off the visit nicely.
We're already planning our return. For anyone looking for delicious dairy-free options like coconut milk curry or just a taste of authentic East Indian cuisine, this spot is worth checking out.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daisy D.Santa Clarita, CA4733Apr 23, 2024

This was the most delicious Indian food I had in a long time!
We walked in on a Wednesday evening and they were already so busy. The host got us a table right away and then they got yummy papadum on the house. They had chutneys (green and tamarind) on the table which were so fresh and delicious. Everything we ordered (samosa, chicken tikka, shahi paneer, chicken tikka masala, dal makhni, gulab jamnun, peas pulav, naan and aloo paratha) was finger licking delicious! Staff is very attentive and service is great! And the portions are huge! They even give you a complimentary Indian salad (onions, chilies, cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce with chaat masala)Helpful 12Thanks 2Love this 7Oh no 0 - 59118199Apr 16, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
Wow they did it again! Everything I have tried here is delicious! I got something I have never tried before which was Mango Masala! And I order it spicy and wow. The perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I was addicted! Writing this review I'm craving it again, it was that good. I was scared to try it because I've never even seen it on any menu at an Indian restaurant but I'm glad I decided to venture out cause it's now my favorite on their menu!

This is by far my favorite Indian food place in SCV, a bit pricey but worth the splurge. Although you pay extra for rice they do give you a lot of it! One order of Naan was plenty for two people! And the flavors of their food is perfection! They also give you the option for spicy or not which is nice, and the chicken in their chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala is soft and also full of flavor.
The inside looks very nice too! I haven't eaten here in person yet, only takeout. But I noticed they do have an all you can eat option 11-3pm everyday of the week! Which I don't see that offered much at other places so that's also a plus
Service is usually pretty good, for takeout specifically it does take a bit so order ahead! We waited about 20-25 minutes, for a Friday night and they were pretty busy.
Overall I enjoy the food from this place a lot and I am always left with leftovers!Jan 6, 2024Previous reviewCame back here again for new years and the food was definitely delicious. Tried something new which was the saag paneer and it was so yummy and flavorful. All of their dishes are flavorful! And highly recommend this place!
Oct 11, 2023Previous reviewThis place is AMAZING!!!!! Their food is absolutely top tier. The chicken tikka misala is definitely a dish to drool over. So flavorful, and so filling. Had the Samosas too those were delicious! Some of the best Indian food I've had in a while and I've been to many places. This was just for takeout too so I can imagine how much better it is in person. Definitely craving this place and will be coming back!
