This place is my favorite Ground Royal Coffee in the city. The owner Jozef is always nice and polite and easy to deal with. Bagels are always fresh and the coffee is tasty. My favorite is the pesto feta bagel what is their speciality. Love to hang out on the bench by the side on Spruce street and people watch. Great business, highly recommended!
I have been to another Royal Ground Coffee in the Richmond. It's a nice coffee shop with a unique atmosphere. This one had a collection of antique coffee grinders. I had a breakfast bagel with egg and cheese. Also, a Sprite. I just needed a snack. Interestingly, the person working the counter would disappear when there were no customers waiting. She appeared when I was ready to order and then as soon as she finished helping me, she disappeared and there was no one standing around the cafe. There were other customers hanging out in the cafe...maybe 2 or 3.
This has been my 4th time here and I would have to say these stars go to the employee the young gentlemen that's usually always there I got his name once I believe it's Jol. He is just so welcoming and honestly loves doing his job. His mochas, and lattes are to perfection and the way he makes his sandwiches everything about it is right.
Neighborhood coffee shop, convenient and delicious. My go to coffee every day! I love this place, staff, coffee and the owner is a very kind man who greats me daily even when I'm just passing by.
Update: the owner sent me a passive aggressive private message after reading my review. Doesn't look like management cares much about constructive feedback. Downgrading to one star. In a convenient location close to city center and Trader Joe's on Masonic. Quite dirty compared to the RGC on Polk street- visible dirt, grime and dust and there is an odd smell. I ordered a chai latte which only comes in a large- it was lukewarm and came in a to-go cup even though I was staying in house. This seemed to be standard practice. The chai was super super super sweet. It was sweeter than Starbucks chai- I couldn't finish it. Disappointed in my experience because I loved the RGC in my old neighborhood.
cool little place!!! love their egg salad and coffee! Joan is soo kind and attentive to my needs! She gives a warm welcome which will make you feel at home! Joan you go girl! You are a gem to this lovely cool coffee shop!
This is my favorite café in the city. It's never crowded, it has a relaxed vibe, the staff is friendly, they have easily accessible power outlets and free WiFi, and most importantly they have good strong coffee! They also have a nice deli menu that exceeds my expectations for a small coffee shop on the corner, and it stays relatively quiet if you need to focus on reading or work. Anyone who has anything negative to say about to the place should stick with getting coffee in the Financial District!
Free wifi, charging docks, and great people. Great place to grab a coffee or sandwiches and do work
First time in San Francisco and after visiting the full house house, I came across this small coffee shop! I have nothing bad to say about this place. Best choice ever! I had the ultimate bagel And an orange juice; plain maybe, but it was so good. The gentleman in the front was so friendly and welcoming really cool guy... I recommend it, a must try.
Very quiet and relaxing place. Wi-fi and charging docks. Excellent sandwiches reasonably priced. The employees are very friendly. My first visit and the young lady behind the counter was very helpful in helping me pick something. I'll definitely be coming back.
This place has been my favorite coffee spot in San Francisco for over 10 years now. If I need a cup of tasty strong coffee , I go only there. They have all kind of bagels, sandwiches, salads. Always fresh and delicious , highly recommend roast beef sandwich and Lox bagel!!! There is also a separate room with comfortable sofa and several small tables, nice place to relax or just read a book and no problem with parking. Great place!!!
I love this little chain. Wifi, food, quiet, the works. Random but cool room in the back.
Latte was very good and the foam was very good. I relaxed on the live seat and looked outside. The view was decent. When I got there all seats we were taken except for the love seat I ended up sitting on. Comfortable and I enjoyed my down time.
Worst Mocha I have tried. It seemed to be just filter coffee with chocolate syrup - had to through it out. Won't come here again.
Cute cafe with lots of plants and natural light. Great classical music. Delicious coffee. Very kind owner.
Found this rando place for lunch while walking down Geary. I got a turkey sandwich on dutch crunch and was very happy with it. The food came out really quick and the service was nice. I like the atmosphere and homey vibe in here. It's everything I could've asked for.
the best cafe in the area. love their chicken sandwich and white mocca coffee! the owner is very friendly and so is Joan. She is so gracious. Highly recommend this place!
Came here around 7:30am when it was freaking freezing outside and my car was getting serviced across the street. I wasn't too hungry but ordered a tea and pound cake to share with my mom and a cup of mocha for myself. The seating is quite cute and quaint. We sat there for a good 45 minutes while workers of all types came to get their morning coffee while rushing off for work. The cake was good per my mom who loves pound cake. The tea and coffee was satisfying especially in the cold foggy morning. The owner even gave me a free box of granola bars. Thats nice of him! My mom said the bathroom was very clean.
So, let's start with the bagels. The man named Joseph, who gave who wore a frown the whole time made my bagels with a complete lack of care or attention. Then I asked for a bit more cream cheese because a slice was sloppily placed between tomato and sprout (not even on the hot bagel) and he charged me an extra dollar for it. The bagels are barely toasted, and cold slabs of cream cheese were thrown in the midst. You can peel off the cream cheese (check out the video). Also they don't even cream cheese both sides. Did I mention the person had no emotion? Coffee was run of the mill. I won't be going back and live a block away. Tried this place a couple times. I am done.
Yesterday morning I stopped in and bought a fruit and yogurt parfait. I brought it to work and started eating it. I saw one of the blueberries still had a stem on it so I picked it off and put it on my napkin. And then I noticed another little green thing so I took it out and put it on my napkin. IT STARTED MOVING. It was a WORM. I went back today and explained what happened. The cashier guy was not apologetic at all. He was very defensive, "We make them fresh daily." Okay, but. Mine had a worm in it. He offered me another parfait. Um. No thanks. He did give me back my $3.95, but I'm never going back.
