Your quintessential hardware store: family-owned and operated, patient, knowledgeable, and go the extra mile. I called them asking for recommendations to find a custom-made balustrade and they took the time to research a good option for me - just to be helpful!

This is my go to hardware store. The owner and staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and really go out of their way to make sure you're buying the right product. As a plus, they are also dog friendly.

This is the best place in the area for duplicating keys: both regular apartment keys, and even specialty keys, such as "high-security"/laser-cut ones - for modern cars!

They have the broadest set of blanks available in the area, and usually well stocked.

The prices are very reasonable. Even if the price for a key is a buck or two higher than at HomeDepot, - I would prefer coming here, because there is always some problem at Home Depot, either all the machines (they have 2 or 3) are broken, or they don't have the blanks, or the hands are growing from the wrong place.

When I came to duplicate my "high-security" car key, the person who did that made sure that I was aware of all different aspects of those keys (the key transmitter inside the fob, etc. - the information that took me quite some time to research).

They pack a lot into a small space: both in terms of products and services.

Over the last decade I've gotten many common items like shovels, ice melt push brooms, sleds, screw and nuts, lubricants, etc.

I've also had window screens fixed. And I know they can notarized documents.

Their customer service is good too. I've also come in with vague descriptions of what I need. Ive also come in with no idea what an item I needed to replace and just a picture and measurement and they've been able to help. Once a needed a 7mm valve flare cap (thanks google for telling me the term), and they took me down into the basement so I could check a few choices to see if anything matched. They said, "These are one of those things we maybe sell one of a year" and it only cost $2.49, but it stopped a massive leak so I left very grateful.

My brother and I needed to buy some peat moss and fertilizer for a small project and wanted to give you preference to a Local store. We couldn't be happier with their contactless pick up. Ordered via phone and was greeted by a super friendly man, maybe the owner. I want to recommend this place and state that despite our lockdown I'm always going to make an effort from here on out to support our locals more than ever. I for sure will only be shopping at ACE in Roslindale Great prices and incredible service!

I have lived less than a mile from this store for the last 16 years. Their knowledge and personalized service is 5 stories higher than any employee of any big box store, anywhere. I always go there when I need some specialized item and they not only give me the right part if they carry it but they tell me how to make the repair. Today it was a leaky faucet. Which I was able to fix in 15 minutes for less than $6. If they don't carry a part or perform a service, they will tell you who does. I LOVE this store!

Joe at Roslindale Hardware was wonderful. I bought a driver bit set for my universal drill. I excitedly opened my new bit set only to find out it was the wrong set. I found the right set online for $10.00 so I drove 1/2 an hr to roslindale because the site said that was the only ace hardware with the set in stock. I got to Joe's store only to find out it was $5 more. I already paid extra by buying the wrong set. I was concerned about spending more. Joe understood and honored the website price. Thank you Joe!!

I called to inquire about screen replacement and the person who answered the phone was not helpful. He assumed that I knew everything about screens instead of explaining that I should take a measurement and come to the store to put in an order. I am a frequent customer and very disappointed with the lack of customer service over the phone.

I've been going to this store for 20 years and the level of service I've gotten is unparalleled. This store and it's owners are an asset to the community.
