    About the Business

As a classically trained pianist, I know how hard it is to find a great teacher at a great price. And as a performer, I know it's hard to find a reliable rehearsal pianist that will cost less than my rent. I begrudgingly began playing the piano at a tender age of 5, only to find that my parents WERE doing me a favor. I trained for 11 years playing for all occasions ranging from classical festivals, weddings, and accompanying singers. I began teaching students ages 6-12 during high school and continued accompanying through college at Belmont University. I now have a solid 10 years of teaching experiencing at various levels and age groups. I have a home studio in Long Island City with a full keyboard. I am also excited to announce a few teachers in other neighborhoods have joined Rosano Music that specialize in voice, dance, guitar, violin, viola, cello, and upright bass! Please contact me if you're looking for lessons in any of these areas.…

This review starts with a confession - taking piano lessons is the only new year resolution I was ever able to keep - mostly due to James. He is a great teacher, very professional, very nice and approachable. I enjoy the lessons and I enjoy practicing at home and it's not a chore because I see the results every week, every week I'm getting better, learning more and building on that foundation. What was amazing to me - is that it's theory put right into practice, I was playing right away. I really enjoy his method and I believe it's very effective. Also, half hour sessions are very affordable and we cover enough material for me to keep practicing and playing new pieces. Thank you James!!!

James is a wonderful teacher! He is approachable, patient, and works with the knowledge and abilities of the student. His method of teaching incorporates the theories into the technical lessons, so that you're learning both at once. I love my lessons, and wold highly recommend James!

My daughter is having a fantastic experience with James Rosano. She is learning about piano and music in general, while also enjoying herself. James is a great combination of talent, patience and people skills. I highly recommend him as a piano teacher.

My children have been taking piano lessons for over three years now and they love it. James is patient and kind and extremely talented. My children adore him and are learning so much. They can read music and are enthusiastic about every lesson. They have an appreciation for music no school has ever given them. I can't say enough about James and would give him 10 stars if asked!
