Ron's

Both Ron's and Ron himself - along with his staff - are a very valuable commodity in these days. What you will find there are superbly presented products offered by kind and considerate hosts who are expert and experienced in their field. Anyone can stock shelves. But few do it with the same care and aesthetic sensibility as Ron & Company. Theirs is a quality curation of fairly-priced offerings crafted by local and national artisans. Plants, candles, greeting cards, soaps, scents, ceramics, figurines....the list goes on. From the cozy and historic main shop to the sun-drenched plant yard out back, if you can't find a gift for a friend here...or two for yourself...well, it would be just as miraculous as the more than 100 years this lovely building that has been continually in service of to the Central Coast.

Visiting the 5-ciites area and looking for a great drive? Well, start in Shell Beach and head south to Pismo Beach via HWY 1. Motor through Oceano and turn left on Halcyon Road. Ron's will be just up on your left. Stop in and check it out. It's a very cool place at the end of a very cool drive...

Love, love, love this local gem. Family-owned, this adorable shop has something for everyone. The staff were kind and friendly. It was clean and organized. I purchased a few plants, a couple of cards, and a few other small accessories. Fairly priced items. This is a great place to find plants and other home decor, as well as gifts for friends and family. I love their two cats who greet all the guests. Parking was easy. Highly suggest everyone stop by and check it out!

Absolutely LOVE RONS. If you make it down to this cozy and abundant store you might have the pleasure of meeting Ron himself. He was so kind and knowledgeable about plant care and tips! As loyal customers, many of the plants purchased at Ron's have lived full happy and healthy lives. Definitely worth checking out. (And don't forget to say hi to his two furry friends)

I had the pleasure of visiting the nursery and meeting Ron and his lovely wife today. Ron was so kind to my young kids. They enjoyed browsing the selections and sitting under a giant walnut tree. I was able to ask questions and get recommendations re my succulent concerns. I picked up a few interesting varieties of succulents to add to my garden and had a lovely time chatting with Ron and enjoying the grounds.

This shop has a small selection of drought scape plants some dry pots some glazed. Plush of the garden variety ;) some sort of bath goods I assume hand made (shrug) some gift cards.. not much else that I could see. A lot of succulents. If that is what you're looking for this place is great! Unfortunately I went in thinking maybe I could find some small starter plants in the food variety or some seed packs.
The woman that I spoke with was very helpful in suggesting a store that might carry seeds nearby.. so I'll go ahead and thrown in another star for that, but there just wasn't anything for me here today.

Every time I frequent here I feel like I've been to a nursery spa day. Until you experience it, you just won't know. Pleasure abounds.

We scooted down to Ron's for our afternoon plant and pottery adventure! The afternoon was threatening rain in a good way, so it was dark and stormy. Ample parking on the street right in front of the shop, so I hopped into the store, and gazed at the nostaligic and romantic displays inside on my way to the trove of succulents in the back outside area.

Lovely displays in the outside garden caught my attention and ramped up my creative spirit. The mix of color was enlivening, and the ocean air calming, a nice mix. Lots of inspiration here in the large displays with live plants to provide the materials. I particularly liked the way that the succulents were arranged by color and kind, so that I could chose colors by nuance and form.

I also liked the matte-glazed pottery vases of Charles Varni, which seem the perfect complement to the subtler colors of some of the succulents. I chose three new shades for my ever growing collection, and headed in to check out.

Service was prompt and friendly, and my three small plants were artfully arranged in a sturdy cardboard box for the journey home.

I came over to the coast again. My friends know I will have to stop at Ron's, this place is amazing all the plants and gifts total selection even cards. I was able to purchase gifts for family and a gift for myself. If you come over to the coast, Ron's is a must stop they have plants I have never seen. Ron and his family are so nice. They treat you like they've known you forever. Please do yourself a favor and stop by this place.
