Robertsville Barber Shop

I've been going here for almost 3 years now, since the pandemic started lifting, and never have I had a barber who was able to cut my hair not only to my request, but with her own expertise added in. Sophie is an incredible barber and knows how to cut hair very well. Overall atmosphere was nice, mellow music playing in the background, old school aesthetic.

Very good work..Liz is the bomb...Megan knows her shit..they do straight razor and I feel clean every time I leave there...

This place is the best shop around to get any type of haircut you need. Sophie is amazing and the atmosphere of the shop is a whole vibe! I went in a couple years ago and never went anywhere else after. I told Sophie to just do whatever she thought would look good and I can't lie she's impressive. I never like getting haircuts but now I'm there every 2 weeks. Highly recommended!!

I have been going to Sophie for 2-3 years. I'm very picky about my barbers and I have only liked 2 in the bay area and 2 in SoCal. I love her haircuts which I still get lots of compliments from others. Highly recommend if you want that clean look.

The reviews looked good so I'd figure I'd give them a try today. This is the first and last time I'm going to this place. I just spent $45 for a rushed 10 minute poor quality haircut. Their sign says taper cuts, I don't think they have a clue what that looks like. I got a basic army cut that I'll have to be wearing a hat to hide for the next few weeks while I let if grow out and get someone who knows what they're doing.

I used to be a regular but I won't be coming back.
Quality of work at this barber shop has gone downhill. Prices have gone up substantially meanwhile the consumer experience has stayed the same, if not gotten worse. Like others have mentioned, inconsistent quality and you don't get what you ask for. The only barber here that cuts hair to a high standard is Megan.

For context, I worked with Sophie the last couple of times and I asked for a mid taper and for 1.5" off the top. Prior to the cut, the top of my hair touched about the end of the back of my head. I literally can't even drape my hair down to style it at the moment because the top is too short.

If you look at the attached photos, if you know anything about hair, that is not a taper. Is that even a fade? I was charged $49 + tip to get something I didn't ask for.

Sophie is someone who gets a lot of praise on this Yelp page, but she's somehow missed the mark, completely, on every occasion she's cut my hair. Super unhappy, especially because I've given her multiple chances to do the job right. I sincerely wish the best for this place, but asking for such a high price requires consistency in quality and consideration for customer wants, not a projection of what you think is ideal (unless that's what the customer asks for).

I randomly stumbled on Robertsville and OMG, I am so glad I did! Thank you, yelpers for this GREAT find! Sophie, the owner is so badass and watching her in action, cutting my boys hair was like watching Picasso painting his masterpiece. We definitely found our lifetime barber! The wait can be long, but well worth it and I definitely recommend calling in advance for an appointment! After my boys, my picky husband went to get his done too and boy was he impressed with her skills!

Amazing haircut every single time! Have been going here for months now. I like that they use some of the traditional barber practices and not just an electric machine.
They are on the expensive side with around 45$ for mens haircut. But the quality totally makes up for it.

Came here for the first time today and have a great time. Sophie was the one that helped me out and I let her surprise me with what hair style to get, and I'm beyond speechless, as she did an amazing job.

There are many anxiety-producing elements of a new move and finding a new hair stylist, especially for someone as vain as I, is right up there.

I found Robertsville via yelp and was glad to see that they are right down the street from our new place.

My experience was fine and my cut was decent. Sophie was fast and pretty no nonsense. Not much chatting, though I did come in at the end of the day. I did love the neck shave and general vibe of the shop is definitely old school and local.

So why not five stars? First, I made an appointment online and received a confirmation email, but apparently, a deposit is supposed to be left in order to confirm the appointment. So when I got there, no appointment, despite an email confirmation. Not a huge deal and probably a website glitch, but just beware that it DOES let you make an appointment, but unless you pay $15 via Zelle, you don't really have an appointment. The second reason is that it is cash only and that was not clear since they take CC payments online. They do have an ATM machine there, but you will have to pay a $2 fee to withdraw. I suspect that most of their folks are walk-ins, so prob not a big deal, but I def appreciate being able to make online appointments and paying with a card.

Again, the cut was good, but the overall experience will prob have me searching again the next time around.
