Wine tasting fun combined with a much larger food menu than most wineries - plus happy hour specials!

Washington vines generally make good wines so I'm always excited to try a new one. I also really enjoy finding urban wineries for more easy access than driving to wine country. Robert Ramsay offers wines by the glass or in flights of 3 or 5. I opted for the flight of 5 and split two different cheese plates with my friend. If you read my reviews, would you expect anything different? :-) The sheep's milk Brie was sooooo dang good. Cheese, crackers, fig jam, wine, and good conversation with a friend - a very good way to enjoy an evening.

My Aunt and I are visiting Seattle and this afternoon we specifically carved out some time to taste some local wine. After a wonderful visit at Domanico, we were pleased to see that Robert Ramsay was open from 5-7pm on Saturday. We took a $15 out-of-the-way Uber to go to this tasting room and arrived right around 6pm. There were two other people in the tasting room and they were together, so we were super excited that the tasting room was basically empty.

We walked in and tried to sit at the bar (mind you there was no signage telling where to sit) and we were immediately reprimanded by the woman working behind the counter telling us that bar seating was not allowed (the one couple there was seated at the bar on the other side of the room), and that we should sit at the barrel table. We did and started to settle in, taking our coats off, when a minute later she abruptly said "you know what, I'm closing now!". This was at 6pm. The signs said open until 7... online said open till 7...we arrived at 6.

I said "I don't understand. Your sign said you are open until 7 and we just took a fifteen dollar Uber here and you told us to take a seat". She got very flustered and said "I'm the only one here and it's too busy! I'm closing now!"

We left. I'm incredibly disappointed. There were TWO other people in the room that had finished their tasting and were wrapping up. I would have happily waited as long as she needed us to while she finished up with them and could pour us a glass.

I have never been treated so rudely, especially in Seattle. I'm embarrassed for this winery and would never recommend this place to anyone I know. What a terrible experience.

I am big fan of the tasting room. As a wine club member, this has become my "go-to" wine tasting place in Seattle.

The wine flights were helpful to understand the products. The sampler plate was tasty. The service was excellent. The ambience was perfect.

I liked the quality of the different (Rhone valley style) wines, but am not yet a $30/bottle wine drinker.

The only downside was that I wasn't presented with the itemized bill before being asked for the credit card. Upon inspection, it was not correct. It would be too easy, after sampling wines, to pay more than the correct amount. Honest mistake, though. But, be careful.

Cute little spot for a friendly wine tasting experience! Very expensive though, which is why I am giving it a 4. My fiancé and I went for happy hour and ordered two flights of 5 wines ($15/each), a cheese and cracker plate ($8) and left with three $30-$35 bottles of wine. After a 20% tip, our total bill was $180. Holy moly! It would have been nice to know up front that tasting fees did not count towards bottle purchases.

      Cons:
Tasting Fees do not count towards bottle purchases

      Pros:
      Great Service
      Great Ambiance
      Great Location

      Favorite Wines (in order):
Dump Block Cabernet -- Incredible if you like bold reds!
Le Mien -- Smooth like a Pinot Noir
Merlot -- Great wine, but taste even better when paired with Brie and Cheddar
*** We did not like the Mourvèdre or Cinsault also in our tasting

Every time I go to Robert Ramsay cellars tasting room on Queen Anne, I am blown away by the quality of the wine. Their Rhone valley style wines are as good as their style namesake. 10/10. Also, Sue the manager is talented, knowledgable, and very good at what she does. My experience is markedly better each time she is there. Also, I am a Rhone 4 club member at her suggestion. It is totally worth it! Just bought another case tonight and couldn't be happier.

This is a nice little place on Queen Anne with some solid wine. Didn't try anything to eat on this trip but the wines were nice and it was just quiet and laid back. Definitely worth a stop and make sure to try the Counoise!

Happy to have this winery tasting room here on Queen Anne. We had an enjoyable tasting experience that was relaxing and not rushed. Excellent cheese plate and prosciutto wrapped figs with balsamic appetizers made for an enjoyable and fun 90 minute "mini-date". Wine tasting fees were reasonable and we enjoyed the majority of their wines and left with two bottles. All in all, a great place to visit. We might join their wine club as well.

Faves included Par La Mer and Mouvedre. Also, the woman running this tasting room was knowledgable about the industry, this winery and made it an extra enjoyable visit.

Fabulous and well priced. Primarily features big reds. Don't hesitate, too lovely to miss out on. You may, however be reluctant to share. KC
