When we are on the road, we like staying at Residence Inn properties. The accommodations are usually spotless, roomy and comfortable. Check-in was fine, prompt and courteous. The room at first glance looked good and recently remodeled. After a few hours however, we began to notice that it seemed like some of the improvements were done haphazardly and some were not even completed. The fan in the bathroom was so loud, I thought I was at a Blue Angels performance. The water from the shower leaked all over the floor so we used all the bath towels to soak it up. Oh yes, no hand towels were present. Calling the front desk was not an option since our phones, were not working. So I walked to the front desk to inform them of these issues. I also didn't want the staff to think we took a five finger discount on the missing linens.

As we made trips to our car throughout our stay, we realized that we could open the door to the outside without even swiping our card. Either someone had jammed it on purpose or else it was broken. Either way, not a whole lot of security. Later, we noticed that the faucets had not even been screwed in properly so they wobbled when used. Breakfast was a big disappointment. My waffle came out of the iron looking like it was lacquered - better suited for a long term food display rather than for consumption. The baked goods were awful. We left more or less the way we arrived - hungry.

So not the best experience. Sadly, I would not stay at this property again. Which is unfortunate as our travels will be taking us through Rocky Mount quite a bit in the next year.

I was in the area for the weekend and my boyfriend I decided to stay here. It was comfortable and decent but definitley not worth my marriott points or 150 dollars per night. We were greeted to the entrance of the property by broken residence inn signage that was an eye sore. It was quite ghetto if you ask me. The decor was a bit outdated and it wasnt as clean I would have liked it to be. I Love the residence inn Brand by Marriott because of the space and the breakfast that they offer. I was not impressed at all by the space in the bedroom at all, It was very small, so small that I had to squeeze by the bed to open the door. The staff was friendly and we were able to find parking right outside of our room which was definitely a plus. The breakfast was okay. Would I stay here again? Only if the price were right. I would never spend more than 100 bucks per night to stay here. The place could definitely use some upgrades, renovations and a deep cleaning.

On my way to Florida, always stayed here. Clean, convenient, good breakfasts and pet friendly. On my way to Florida in February stayed again. Very disappointed, checked in front desk, barely said 2 words. We usually have a room with kitchen. Placed was not clean, dirty smell, and looked dated. Took a shower and bathtub was like standing in a bowl, wired. Breakfast was ok, staff not very sociable.
While leaving, I saw Marriott sign at front entranced missing, looks like it has been that way for a while.

As a long time Marriott member I'm always looking for a Marriott to stop in on the way to wherever we are going.
We do like Residence Inns when we can get in them. Always a suite and always clean.
This one is no different. Pleasant staff answered any questions I had, plus a free full (buffet) breakfast is included with each night (days) stay.
Great place to 'overnight it' heading North or South on I-95.

Just checked in. We stayed here once before and room was filthy but we thought we would give it another shot. We have a dog and since we are Long time Marriott platinum members our choice was limited after driving all day. We got to our room and the sheets didn't fit the bed. The toilet would not stop running after one flush and it leaked over. I took pics of both. Went down to complain and was given another room and when we walked in it smelled of severe body odor. This time my wife went down to the front desk. The desk worker was not happy and gave us a third room. We will not stay here again.

Want a good's night sleep? Go elsewhere.

Mattresses are soft, lumpy,;and non-supportive. Woke up with a back ache and it didn't clear up for hours after I got home. I have a bad back, but my partner generally sleeps well. Guess who, first complained about the mattress.
Free breakfast was simple, but tasty and filling.

The hotel is weary, not dilapidated, but it is worn. All the wood surfaces in my room were scratched. My studio room had a couch arrangement facing the back of a singlentv that faced the bed. Most suites of the last 10 years have had two screens.

Sound transmission is unattenuated and the doors, which fit loosely in there frames, are highly transmittive. You can hear clearly the tv, or other activities, as you stroll down to the elevators.

As a frequent business traveler, Marriott properties are always my go-to when looking for a place to stay. I especially like Residence Inns because I enjoy the extra space in the guest room and the evening social hours with food and beverages (both alcoholic and non). However, I wasn't impressed with this particular location.

Check-in and hospitality: no issues. Every employee I encountered was polite and courteous.

The hotel had a refresh within the last couple years (I stayed at a neighboring property at the time they were refreshing things). I can see where they made some improvements, but definitely still could use some more updates, particularly in the kitchen (cabinets) and bathroom (older tub and pretty dirty looking vent).

I happened to be staying on a night when they had an evening social, which is offered Monday-Wednesday. I came down pretty soon after it started and served myself a beer from the tap (self-service beer, nice!). However, it was not at all cold and warm beer is just not pleasant. Went to grab some of the hot appetizers--everything looked overcooked and extremely dry. Decided against that and finished my warm beer.

Breakfast in the morning was great! In addition to the standard stuff, they had the extra touches I expect with Residence breakfast: spinach and Brie cheese, which I love adding to my eggs! No complaints there.

I'm loyal to Marriott because they're a consistent chain and I know even in unfamiliar locations, I'll typically be happy with my decision and my stay. Is this location terrible and one should avoid staying here? No, but it's just average. In my opinion, this location is a bit below the Marriott standard and could use some work.

I only wish I could give zero stars. The room was so shabby I was stunned. My wife saw the bathroom while I was bringing our stuff in from the car. The person at the desk said they didn't have another room, so she had to get gloves and Lysol wipes from them to clean the tub and toilet. We kept our socks on all the time.

This hotel is really a dump. Marriott should be ashamed. Rooms are dirty. Wiped the floor and paper towel was black. Glasses had lipstick marks. Sheets were dirty. Noise from traffic WAS AWFUL. Lady at front desk was apologetic and nice but this place should be shut down.

I recently stayed here for a few days while on a trip for soccer. I would like to start with the positives. The lobby staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, they get 5 stars. The breakfast selections were nice and the price of the stay was very good. The negatives and my reason for giving 3 starts is because of housekeeping. My first night the comforter was dirty. There were some lipstick stains on it. I'm not sure if the bedding hadn't changed or it was just a stain, either way, not how I wanted to start my trip. My room also wasn't cleaned at all during my 4 night stay. For the most part I kept it tidy myself, but having the trash taken out and the towels replaced would have been nice.
