Buena Park Chapel Renaker-Klockgether Mortuary

So very sad to see Renaker Klockgather Mortuary closed permanently. I have known the owners and staff for over 20 years. Here is the Official notification I found on their official website.

I was at the Santa Ana health department filing documents that I needed and bumped into a man by the name of Joe. He is a real down to earth guy and came off as a good hearted person. We got to talk and in our conversation he mentioned he owned a funeral home in Buena Park, but didn't think much of it because I figured I would never see it.

As I was leaving I mentions I needed to go make copies for the consulate I was going to. That's when joe offered his copier at the funeral home (since it was on my way to the consulate and right off the 5 freeway).
I really wasn't going to go, but decide to go anyways just to see the place for a bit.

From the outside it doesn't really look like much, but when you go Inside you can really see the love he has for his city. There is a lot of history inside, like the Buena Park room, bathrooms that will just amaze you. I'm kinda wonder why he doesn't turn it into a museum as well. But more than anything it really felt like home. They are currently working on remodeling the back yard... I'll post a picture so you can see it.

Everyone there is so real and down to earth. They are very professional and really feel for the families' difficult situation. I hope I don't need there services soon, but if the time were to come I would definitely trust them with my family.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!
My dad passed away 2 years ago unexpectedly and the thought of figuring out what to do next was scary and overwhelming.
The hospital gave a list of mortuaries to call and after a few calls, it was obvious that we needed to choose Klockgether-Renaker.
We wanted cremation and the other places were either: way overpriced, sounded a bit creepy over the phone or didn't even answer the phone.
I made an appointment to come in and felt very nervous. They made me feel comfortable right away and explained everything. They made the process extremely simple. They also explained that because my dad was in the military that he could have a service with military honors in Riverside or even at their chapel. They said all I needed to do was decide when and they would arrange it.
After having my dad's ashes for 2 years, I decided to properly lay him to rest and called them to plan his service. I decided to do it in their chapel.
I could write many more paragraphs on how easy it was to arrange his service with military honors.
Sheri was fantastic and literally went above and beyond for us.
The service was beautiful, the chapel is beautiful.
Everyone that went all commented on how great it was.
I can't recommend this place enough!!

It's been almost one week since my Dad's funeral service at Renaker-Klockgether. As each day passes, I think I gain an even greater appreciation for, and admiration of, the staff who went above and beyond for us. Cheri, Drea, and Jose took excellent care of my Dad and each of us in the family. Answering every phone call, answering all our questions, guiding us through the entire process - each of these actions came with kindness and respect. During our worst time, we were treated with compassion and understanding beyond measure. My family and I recommend Cheri, Drea, and Jose at Renaker-Klockgether whole heartedly to guide you through the caring of your loved one's final needs.

I had my husband's service here in May of this year. Cheri and the staff are completly amazing. They are very patient and understanding of each individual that walks into their establishment. They are professional and kind. They all went above and beyond to help me with the smallest details regarding my husband's services. They let me spend time alone with my husband at a scheduled time away from guests. We have 2 young boys and the patience they had with us reassured me that we had made the right choice by holding his services there. Unfortunately 2 years ago we also held another service at this place and the service was incredible as well. My mother also wants to have her service held there. It just feels like home when you walk in and all the pictures they put up feels like we just belonged. Thank you all for providing a wonderful way to say good bye to my husband.

I drive past this place on my and to and from work for the past 10 years, so when the unexpected happened, I called this place first.

Middle of the night, a lady answered her phone and despite being woken up, was super nice, sympathetic and understanding.

I think the same lady guided my brother and father through to process of getting my mom laid to rest. My utmost appreciation goes to her for helping my dad through it since he was still in shock.

Every step of the way, this place was there and supportive.
Thank you for all that you did to help me and my family through this time.

We had my grandmother's service here. The owner Joe was very helpful, provided flexible hours, and provided excellent service. We checked other mortuaries around the Anaheim/Fullerton Region, but this place with the most accommodating. They did an amazing job with my grandmother. They even helped us ship her body to the airport for us to bring her home to the Philippines. The prices were very reasonable. In addition, the back of the mortuary if very spacious for visitors. This place is highly recommended.

Do not go here. The owner Joe Klockgether knowing committed fraud. My husband passed away and the step kids, who are adults were handling the funeral arrangements. The kids and I were not on good terms. I brought down my marriage certificate. Come to find out, on the death certificate Joe wrote single because the step kids, who are adults told him too without requesting no documentation. This is disturbing that in a time of grief a mortuary would do this.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Dealing with loss is so hard. I attended a funeral at Renaker a few years ago and decided to use their services. Cheri was the nicest, most patient and understanding person while helping me figure out my grandfather's service arrangements. She went above and beyond. Other mortuaries were so expensive and distant emotionally. Cheri made sure every detail was perfect and I cannot compliment her enough on her work ethic and professionalism. Renaker-Klockgether is a small tight knit family business. They deserve more than 5 stars.

The people at Renaker are amazing and actually care about their customers. Cheri has helped my family twice and under difficult circumstances she handles practically everything. Amazing people!!!
