I have used and really appreciated this urgent care medical service provider over the past few years, so naturally I checked their website when I wanted to refer a friend who is stuck caring for an ailing elderly parent who won't leave home. Unfortunately, they've officially switched to working only with companies and/or clinics! They no longer book appointments with "the general public."
Here's the message from their website:
"Per our website, Remedy no longer offers appointments to the general public. This is due to the volume and focus on our Employer and Health Care Provider partners and their members."
I'm guessing they got busy enough that this is an upgrade for their business model. Unfortunately, it leaves the "general public" to find another urgent care mobile provider. Not a good year to leave us hanging, folks. Really disappointed.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Dec 28, 2017Previous reviewThere's an unwritten rule somewhere that kids most always get sick on evenings, weekends and holidays. Or at least they wait until then to tell you. So when one of mine broke it to me on Christmas Eve that he thought he'd caught his sister's flu, and it looked to me like it might also be another case of strep throat, I had a sinking feeling that there wouldn't be anyplace open except the unaffordable ER. And I was close to correct. Plus my kid didn't look like he was up to travel without a lot of help, and he's bigger than I am.
I found Remedy on Yelp and saw from their website that they took our insurance in-network, so I called them shortly after Santa left on Christmas morning and to my surprise, found that they were making house calls. Best Christmas present ever! It costs another $49 dispatch fee on top of your co-pay, plus whatever your insurance plan doesn't cover for an office call and lab tests, so it isn't cheap, but in the relative scheme of things, it seemed like our best bet.
A doc and assistant showed up a couple of hours later, replete in Christmas wear, and were able to run both a rapid flu and strep test right there in our living room. He sent off another sample to the lab and had someone call me with the final results two days later.
If you're in a similar pinch or especially if you have an elderly or otherwise fragile patient in need of being seen by a doc in short order, Remedy Urgent Care might be worth checking into. - Joanna L.Austin, TX1222658Dec 5, 2020
I was out walking when I saw a well-branded Remedy Urgent Care car parked near my home with a nurse dressed in full PPE organizing supplies in her trunk. I had not heard of Remedy Urgent Care, but immediately took note if I ever wanted to try a house call, I should inquire with Remedy.
A few weeks later I got sick and thought I might have COVID, the flu or a UTI. I remembered Remedy. I have a primary care provider and a clinic I've been going to for over a decade, but with COVID risks, I wanted to avoid the doctor's office at all costs, so I jumped online, read through the entire Remedy website (very well done/covered all information and instructions and even offered a live chat with a real person), and with one click of a button, booked my video appointment. Within 15 minutes I was on live video with a doctor.
Dr. Roberta had an exceptional bedside manner. Very thorough, caring, professional, polished, knowledgeable and offered solutions and ideas I had not thought of (ie. having my prescription delivered directly to my doorstep versus going through Walgreen's drive through - thank you, Capsule!). She summarized my symptoms, reviewed her orders and what to expect next. I felt completely informed. She spent at least 15 minutes with me and covered all my concerns. I was thoroughly impressed.
Shortly after our video call I received a text message that my prescription was being filled and they would text when they were on their way to hand-deliver it to my doorstep. Then, I received another text from Remedy to book my at-home visit. After booking a same-day visit, Remedy text me detailed instructions to prepare for the visit. I felt comfortable and informed.
When the nurse arrived she was in full PPE gear, masked and with gloves. We met outside in my garage with the door open and she did a flu swab test, a rapid COVID test and I gave her a urine sample in a bio-hazard sealed bag. She took my vitals and walked me through the next steps. She said I would receive my test results within 1-2 hours.
Indeed! I received the swab results within the promised time frame (negative) and very shortly after received the prescription delivery at my door from Capsule and started on the antibiotics immediately to treat the UTI.
That evening I received TWO follow up texts asking if I received everything I needed and to make sure I was feeling okay. I felt well taken care of.
The entire experience was seamless, professional, timely, organized and quite impressive - exceeded all my expectations. I will 100% use them again and will tell my friends and neighbors about this incredible service.
Thank you to the medical staff at Remedy that are serving our community during these trying and difficult times. I am so appreciative and was so relieved not to have to leave my home.
Don't hesitate - call Remedy.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nov 8, 2019
I have no idea what this visit will cost me beyond the initial $49 home visit fee, but having urgent care come to you instead of the other way around is priceless. NOT TO MENTION, GENIUS!
When you're sick the last thing you want to do is leave your house but it's kind of necessary if you need a diagnosis or drugs to combat your illness. Remedy comes to you! Not only did I not have to leave my house, I didn't have to subject my frail body to a room dripping with germs and other sickies. The visit was not more than 15 minutes and I definitely felt more comfortable in my own home than anywhere else. Appointments are available 8am-7pm weekdays (not sure about the weekends). I scheduled my appointment for the 8-10am window the same day (made my appointment as I was suffering from a raging sore throat at 1am).
You really can get anything delivered these days!Helpful 27Thanks 0Love this 24Oh no 0 - Mar 25, 2020
I learned of remedy due to the COVID-19 crisis and set up a telemed appointment because of upper respiratory symptoms. The process was super easy to schedule, the doctor called on time, friendly and gave great guidance.
Today I received a follow up call from a nurse who was informative, kind and called to get an update on my well-being.
Great service, simple and again everyone was super.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie D.Corpus Christi, TX3674Feb 3, 2021Updated review
I'm not sure what happened, but Remedy just changed and no longer accepts appointments from the general public. I feel bad recommending them to so many over the last two years, especially since it was the general public who built them into being the large business they became. Yesterday customer service just gave me a cut-and-paste "we won't help you anymore" response. It's extra annoying since my family doctor quit when the pandemic started and they were my go-to. They used to be great. :( Hope they go back to the old model someday.

My appointment was great. She asked me a lot of questions and took all the time I needed to answer any of mine. Found out that I had an ear infection, and she put in the order for my antibiotics right there at my preferred pharmacy. I also got to choose between billing my insurance or self-pay and getting reimbursed later. (Their prices are super reasonable.) They really do think of everything, and they know their stuff. So glad I found Remedy! - Natalie A.Austin, TX901925Feb 12, 2020
Had a virtual appointment with my 18 month old and they needed to do some testing so were going to send someone to our home within 20 minutes! There was some confusion and miscommunication about pricing but they remedied (pun intended) it with excellent customer service.
We will definitely use Remedy for our future sick care needs. Just a tip- make sure to call and specifically mention your child's age if you're doing a virtual visit.
Remedy is a life saver for this mom of 4.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Natalie S.Austin, TX1103Aug 7, 2019
Hands down the most positive Urgent Care experience I have ever encountered. I was seen immediately after scheduling my appointment and had multiple touch points with members of staff. Despite not having a functioning x-ray machine at the time, they were able to get me in (on a SUNDAY!) to another facility. I never felt rushed during the process, each and every staff member was clearly engaged with me, answering questions, and truly taking the time to figure out what was wrong.
However, what absolutely blew me away was the aftercare with their team. In particular, Shannon followed up with me via text and call throughout the next few days and had me send pictures and made sure that another RN, Julie, was following up with me on her day off. The level of care I received throughout the process was above and beyond anything I had expected. Shannon made me feel supported and cared for during a particularly stressful time (she's a rockstar).
I can't thank the team enough for their care and attentiveness throughout this process. Of course, I would rather not be sick but I will never go anywhere else for care and will refer my friends and family here as well.
Thank you, Remedy!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

The dr and her assistant were fantastic!!!
Great service. They came the same day and took care of my mom. We didn't know what was wrong and they came within a couple hours. I would not only use them again but recommend it to everyone. Affordable boutique medicine!!

HOUSE CALLS, PEOPLE!
I love love love Remedy and recommend them every chance I get.
If you're a germ-a-phob with young kids, you will love this service.
Wonderful doctors and nurse practitioners who COME TO YOUR HOME!
A doctor's waiting room is the last place I want to be during flu season.
I've used them when my daughter had an earache, do give us annual flu shots, to test our family for flu, to check out my visiting Auntie's bad cough...I've have never had a bad experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nikki N.Austin, TX0243Sep 28, 2020Updated review
GO TO ARC to get COVID tested!! I have loved using Remedy in the past however I am very disappointed in their policy changes. If you have to get a swab they double charge you and the doctors don't tell you about it. I had to pay 2 office fees, one for the virtual visit and one to go get the swab. The doctor who ordered the swab never said "Hey heads up you're going to have to ay a second office visit." How is this sustainable to low income families? It cost me 2 $50 office fees! Seriously I have had to get COVID swabbed a few times over these past few months due to work or exposure. Every doctor's office I ever went to swabbed me right then and there and never once charged an additional fee to get swabbed. This is profiting off of the pandemic. You better not be poor and sick cause they don't want your business, they want your money.
