My wife had to make an ER visit here last night, and we were really surprised at the attentive level of care that the staff gave us. The ER was really packed, and I imagine this is just a daily occurrence, but you can tell that the staff here is just used to the chaos, and they know how to manage it well.
I liked that the check-in was extremely quick - you can just scan your driver's license and check from a list of symptoms which helps them figure out how to prioritize your care.
Due to my wife's symptoms, she was seen fairly quickly. The lady who was manning the check-ins gave my wife a wrist band with her data on it, along with a set of labels also with her name on it to track her progress throughout the session.
The experience we had with the staff was that they had great bedside manners. We felt they asked all the right questions to understand the nature of my wife's issues, and they ordered the appropriate tests to get more data. We interacted with around 4-5 staff members during our few hours there, and they were all pleasant people despite how cramped the space was, along with the inordinate amount of people they were servicing during that timeframe.
We were assigned a PA to manage our case, and once we got all the tests done, they managed to come to a conclusion with the data they have to explain what happened to my wife along with appropriate treatment plans.
If we were to have an emergency situation again, I would definitely return to Regional Medical Center. - 3453101266Dec 29, 2023
AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COST!!!! IT IS INFAMOUS FOR THE SHIT CARE YOU GET HERE AND I CAN ATTEST TO THIS!
My family and friends have experienced numerous horrible experiences here where the loved one is either neglected or received incompetent care. If you take your loved one here, expect a death sentence or a bandaid to a death impending situation. Regional is ill-equipped and has a reputation for a high turnover rate with the staff due to poor management and working conditions.

Our personal experience:
My aunt was taken to the ER here when she had severe lethargy, frequent falls, unable to eat, large abdominal swelling, and other symptoms. She was diagnosed with masses in her abdomen, admitted for a couple of hours, and then sent home since they had no oncologist at this hospital. We were baffled that she was discharged and the phone numbers Regional provided for oncologists were useless! One line was no longer in service and the other, no one picked up!
We had to schedule an urgent appointment with her primary care doctor the next day and he was upset for us. He angrily stated, "Why did she get discharged? She shouldn't have been discharged. She should be admitted for full care of her condition. I don't know what they're thinking. No doctor in their right mind would've done this."
I ended up taking her to O'Connor's ER where she was admitted for a month until her passing. O'Connor had provided her with excellent care and even went above and beyond with their team. We felt like she was protected and in good, empathetic hands at O'Connor. I could not foresee Regional being 1% of what O'Connor or any caring facility would be.

Experiences from friends and family:
1. A relative passed away here because they "forgot" about him.
2. A friend gave birth here and the nurses yelled at her to change quickly even though she was in labor and changing at a normal speed. They also were nowhere to be found when she needed them.
3. A friend's parent received surgery that ended up with complications because the surgeons did a poor job. The hospital refused to release the doctors' names because they knew they were getting sued.
4. A friend's aunt called the nurse to help her get up and the nurse never came. Instead, the relative of the aunt was called over to help lift her. They also discharged her after giving her a blood transfusion for internal bleeding, but without figuring out where exactly the bleeding was coming from to stop it.
5. I've heard countless times where people who weren't supposed to be discharged were, and if they weren't discharged, they died. My healthcare friends also speak about the notorious bad reputation this hospital has.

If you have to take someone to the ER, I recommend O'Connor and have heard Santa Clara Valley Medical Center is good as well, though a long wait. - Jose A.San Jose, CA05Jan 3, 2024
I went to Regional's ER for the first time. The security guard was friendly and trying to crack jokes. The registration process is automated through a computer which the latter directed me to. My registration was acknowledged quickly. I got a blood test and the technicians were friendly and even called me by name which was comforting. I would come back here again if I had an emergency case but hopefully that doesn't happen.

This is the worst hospital ever. Staff is always rude there's never a bed to lay down no matter how u feel. Dr's don't even seem to care or know what to do with patients. U go there and just for them to collect a paycheck because after waiting so long in the lobby they send u back home and tell u to go see ur Primary Dr.
And now I see this posted on the freeway definitely alarming.

Worse place to be even at. This hospital speaks volumes of corruption and company greed if your love ones have cancer to get treated! You're best to go out of state to Texas if you want better quality care where the staff actually shows dignified professional care about you and your family.
I highly recommend going here "The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center", as it's the number one in the nation to provide better quality service and "somewhat" affordable care compared to this piece of shit hospital here at Regional Medical Center! Do your research and you'll see why. Google is at your finger tips. You've been warned folks. Stay out of Regional Medical Center.
If you've read this far. Thank you for your time by acknowledging and reading this review. God speed to you or your fam if you've been diagnose by cancer. JUST AVOID THIS PLACE unless you're getting a second opinion, but never get your care here.
All the staff here aren't even happy to be serving you. All they talk is about "(1)can't wait to get off of work, (2) what you getting for lunch, (3) what's your plan after you get off of work, (4) what do you have in mind on your vacation, (5) and lastly they have a snobby attitude like they don't give a f*ck behind those masks. You can easily tell by their eyes they don't want to be at work.

This hospital is horrible, I had to report a nurse for refusing to help my partner ( a patient ). The doctors have no idea what's even going on, they told us 3 different things & they ended up not being the issue. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE ALONE.

This Hospital killed my mother she walked in there walking and talking three weeks later to the morgue, she was there for three weeks the intensive care unit is garbage! The doctors are not professional they don't communicate as often as they should . Some of the nurses were nice but I feel that when the person is older they don't give much attention as they should it doesn't matter if you are old or young a life is a life we should have learned from when my father passed away 14 years ago in the same garbage hospital.

I had been to this ER center a few times over the years. Those past visits were good with proper billing to my insurance. On my recent visit my son had a stomach bug and we spent about five minutes with a Physician Assistant. He received a single dose of acetaminophen and they billed my insurance over $3,200 for this visit. To add insult to injury another group called Team health, sent me another bill which was so confusing because I already paid the primary bill sent from this office. We didn't need any hospitalization so why separate group trying to milk us for more money!
My recommendation is unless you're near dead, don't go here. For some reasons they use your visit as a license to print money. I learned my lesson from this visit the billing was so preposterous and the customer agent was dishonest in her service that I will never visit this center again. - 4185335Feb 13, 2023
The vast majority of staff and doctors have been great. My 85 year old mother has many health issues. Most doctors want to keep trying new things for her to keep her going. Since she is of sound mind, we let her decide for herself. One thing that needed to happen was dialysis. One doctor did say - are you sure you want to put her through that at her age? Asked her and she said yes! It has helped tremendously.
What I don't like about this hospital is the entrances and when doors are open and available to use. It's posted that the main entrance is open until 5pm on weekends. There are times they close early- and times they open late - and you have to gp all the way around and enter through ER. Not exactly the best place! But over all, good care has been provided.
