I Came here for what women want or thin or hear! I don't know. Either way it was a mess! People were playing musical chairs and my friends tried to bring a baby in and they got denied entry. Apparently the policy states you can't bring a baby into an R rated movie under 6 years old. Well they snuck in anyway!!! And I had to tell people to get out my seat. It was a lot going on. I don't know if management knows that people are movie hoping or just don't care, but a lot of people had to be moved around once the real owners of the seats showed up. I have never really loved this theatre. I've been here for many movies. God's not dead, Acrimony, Tranformers, and I even came to see Freedomland in 2006. That was the first time I ever entered the doors of this establishment while in college. It was nicer and newer then. Don't get me wrong the seats have been updated and upgraded. And it even has a imax....But I never think let's go to Regal! Anyway it was an ordeal and I'll probably not be back for a minute.
Went to see Spider Man at this theater. Will someone tell the management to pay the doggone heating bill??? It was cold in the theater. The ticket takers were wearing multiple layers of clothing. The security people were wearing multiple layers. So were we. We never shed a layer, and we were still cold. I was wearing a sweater, a fleece jacket, a fleece vest, an alpaca scarf, hat, and gloves. We found a manager after the show was over, and shared our complaint with him. He told us that we should have left the movie we were in and alerted someone. Seriously? I truly felt like I was being gaslighted. Isn't this part of the OPENING protocol for the theater? Didn't he think the entire theater was cold as a tomb in the first place? This theater is doing the customer and their shivering employees no favors, especially for the prices they charge. If you want to fill some seats, provide some of the basics like hea and climate control. Oh, yeah...one more thing: when the customer is right, don't gaslight. Chelsea B., in regards to your comments and faux apology, thank you for that nothingburger of an apology.
Blurgh. This theater has a lot of screens and it's convenient to downtown Silver Spring. But still, you should try to avoid it at all costs. The concessions service is contempt with a side of interminable. And the staff in general are surly and disinterested. Not clean. You're on your own in this cinema coliseum.
Visiting from out-of-town enjoyed a movie and the game area, which appeared to be under construction. All in all, my family still enjoyed the film, the concessions and the games beforehand. The tickets are purchased on the lower level entrance, seats chosen at purchase. The movie screen/theaters are an escalator ride up on the next level. I didn't mind that the UP escalator was out-of-service the day I was there, but some might object to the many flights of stairs necessary to climb to the top! Good Exercise. Once on the second floor, I almost didn't think I'd be able to peel my husband & daughter away from the game stations they started playing prior to our showtime; but I did enjoy the evening at Regal Cinemas Majestic 20 & IMAX.
I frequent this theater quite often. I saw Intruder there just last week. I have well over 50k regal points on my app which gives me free and locust perks to come here. Parking here in the evenings and weekends is free and convenient. There are many eating establishments nearby. I love the variety of dining options in Downtown Silver Spring in proximity to the movie theater. Also, they have a good mix of theatres. IMAX 3D, IMAX and standard are available. Across the Street at near the civic center I am frequently entertained by free live music on the weekends. I wanted to say all of this, and I was truly inspired to write this tonight. I want to another regal to experience 4DX. I was dissatisfied with the concession staff at the other theater. I was truly expecting the same professional courteous and attentive service I get in Silver Spring and was sorely reminded of the euphemism associated with the word, "assume".
I LOVE Regal and this location! I am waiting for a subscription program! I have AMC A-List but I'd cancel in a second for a Regal program. Their popcorn and seating is far superior. I love this location because there are so many movie choices. They also have great employees! I always feel welcome when I come! The concession line always moves quickly and everything tastes great! Get here early though because parking is sometimes difficult to find in the garages nearby and street parking is always hard. I will continue to drive a bit further from my house to come to this Regal!
This was my first visit to this Movie Theater, and it won't be my last. From the previous reviews, it sounds like this place used to be a total dump lol. Don't worry the new updates are quite lovely and it's definitely worth a visit in the near future. I came on a rainy Thursday night, so it wasn't crowded at all. I didn't have to wait in line to purchase my ticket. The line for the concession stands wasn't too bad. There was a nice amount of employees helping out to make the line go down. Thank you Regal for that. I swear sometimes I've gone to the movies and it was a line of like 20 people and only like one or two employees working. Which is super unfair to the employee(s) and the customers waiting in line. Now onto the theater. Super big and spacious. Nice comfy stadium-style black leather recliners, still brought my Clorox wipes, (cold and flu season, I'm good off that). I feel like any seat is a good seat in the theater. The recliners were so comfy and definitely make for a perfect movie experience. I will be back to this theater. The prices are on par with other DC movie theaters making it a little pricey, IMO. The concession stand prices weren't too bad. Oh and Parking. I parked at the Town Square Garage, but upon leaving the gates were already up. Apparently, that garage is free after 9:05 PM. That's a significant plus, and it's literally like right across the street. It's a win-win in my book.
What can I say? I love the staff. So friendly and peaceful. They do need to do better with the hot items at the concession stand, like the pizza, it's always dry and hard. The hot dogs are rubbery. Probably should pop popcorn in smaller batches so you're always getting it fresh and HOT. But I love the renovations and until they get it together, I just will enjoy Edward's warm greetings and the great movies in my comfortable seat.
The theater isn't bad but the customer service is. The movie experience starts when you walk into the theater. Interaction with management carries a heavier weight than interaction with the ticket person because management should be solving problems, not creating them. Management has no control over how lines are formed and maintained. They allow people to come, leave an item as their place, leave the premises for hours (more than 3, probably all day) and then come back to a "reserved space" and then allow them to let 10 ppl jump with them. And there will be 4-5 spaces held like this and so if they all have 10 ppl with them now your left getting the more crappy seats. You should only be able to hold a space if you are physically there and you can only hold a space for one. And no daisy-chaining (the person you held a space for can't hold a space for someone else). Upon bringing it to the attention of management they don't care enough to address the problem so the rating is due to management customer service. This is not the first complaint, just the first posted by me online.
Updated review!!! So this theater has gotten on the bandwagon and now has gotten a much needed upgrade - including reclining seats. I'm here frequently for advanced screenings and if a movie is starting at 7 they usually let us in around 6:15, but if you want a decent seat, you (and your guest if you have one), better get in line at 5:15! Trust me. Overall, I like the upgrade, but if you're sitting in the back, it's hard to see the bottom of the screen.
Last night at Regal Cinemas in Silver Spring both parties next to us were texting and talking the entire time. I asked staff to stop this behavior twice and my spouse numerous times asked the people to his left to shh. The people to my right started calling me the F word, then when I finally told the people to my spouse's left to shut up these underage children in a rated R movie's "guardian" yelled at me and was physically aggressive and in my face yelling. I started recording because I thought I was about to be assaulted, and then I was.
#BlackPanther Love this movie theater! It has super cushy seats; each chair is basically its own LazyBoy recliner! I also love that this movie theater has assigned seating purchased in advance. It helps relieve anxiety over securing a seat especially if your running a little late after snacks.
The staff there is extremely friendly however the row of seats we sat in every other one was in operable. There luxurious leather reclining seats are wonderful to watch movies in yet if they do not recline it is disappointing.
NOPE! Went to a 10pm movie with my family. Lots of unruly, loud teens all over. Very little extra butter put on the popcorn after requesting at the counter (self serve not operational). The lobby and theater were dirty, even after the "cleaning crew" had just come out of the theater. Almost slipped on some butter on the floor in the lobby by the condiments area and there was sticky, spilled soda on the floor by the self-serve soda area. The reclining function on my seat didn't work at all. No table on the seats. The staff was very nice and plenty of security but go elsewhere!
Went here to watch Greenbook and loved the facilities! The chairs are lazy boy recliners and are very comfortable! They are also large enough for you to fee like you have your own space rather than crammed next to other people. They have an attached parking garage that they offer parking validation and doesn't require payment if you leave after 9pm. Their was no queue for tickets or food/drink. The staff were helpful and friendly!
Dont ever seat in the last row. You are going to see half of the screen. We let the staff know but they couldn't do anything to accommodate us in different seats because they said the seats were sold out and I saw some empty ones which that was not truth but I just let it go..I just know I wont be back. Laurel movie theater is the one!
Loved the reclining seats and the super "professional" concession guy named Ethan! Ethan, an Ecomomic/Finance major, advises us that the larger drink purchase was less per ounce, although more money total.
Definitely a thumbs up for the reclining seats. Went here to see the hilarious yet socially aware movie 'Sorry to Bother You'. Only down side was that their concession stand was closed, so no snacks .
Wow that has to be the smallest IMAX screen I have ever seen. Throw in non-reclining chairs and the leg room of an elementary school bus to complete the most overpriced and underwhelming movie viewing experience of my life. Only the second time I have ever sprung for a regular movie on IMAX and I can pretty much guarantee that the third time will not be here. This Regal tends to show a lot of titles that other Regal theaters in the area don't. Just don't waste the extra coin for their IMAX.
This is my favorite movie theater to go to love the staff and recliner chairs and the games they have on the side makes it feel lively
