Red Lion Grog House is proud to offer the very best in traditional English cuisine in Indiana. We combine delicious food and live entertainment in order to create the ultimate dining experience. Although we televise all major sporting events on seven widescreen TVs, we do not consider ourselves a sports bar. We are actually an upscale English-style restaurant that combines the sophistication and elegance of a high-end restaurant with the excitement of live entertainment. Our menu consists of unique appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, entrees and desserts. Everything is made in-house, and all of our ingredients are local and fresh. We have familiar favorites like Shepherd's Pie, Bangers and Mash and Chicken Pot Pie, or more adventurous options like the Scotch Egg, Bubble and Squeak or Elephant Ear. We have an extensive selection of imported and locally-crafted beers to wash your meal down with, as well as a unique menu of fine wines. We have different drink specials…

Agree with Danielle...no gluten free menu but they do have gluten free buns as an option for their sandwiches. Wonderful food.

Good food, good service, really chill vibe, in the heart of fountain square, right by the HiFi
Our server gave us some background on the grogs and food :)
      Nice little Friday night dinner.

You cannot go wrong with the fish and chips! A friend and me went to dinner at Red Lion on Sunday. The restaurant was not very busy.
I ordered the curry and chips and it came out quickly. The curry had a bit of spice to it. I liked it. My friend did not. The chip aka fries were good. Our dinner came out right after getting our appetizer. I ordered the fish and chips and it was excellent. The batter on the fish had a good crunch. It came with a small cup of slaw and tartar sauce. There was malt vinegar and other condiments on the table.
One thing I didn't like was not the restaurants fault. There is a club next door and the bass from the music was very loud and distracting while we were trying to talk. I was surprised it was so loud at 4:30 on a Sunday.

This was my second time to the Red Lion. Both times the service and food was excellent! The wait staff both times, different staff, were very attentive to our needs. Always making the food was to our liking and drinks were refreshed.
I highly recommend the Fish and chips!! Very large pieces of fish and the chips are freshly made each day!
To top it off, Tuesday's and Thursday's are trivia night , which makes for a fun and friendly atmosphere!

Red Lion Grog House is next door to the Hi-Fi, a local music venue. I needed a place to "pre-game" and get a drink before a show (Broken Social Scene, if you must know), so in I went. This is one of those places that's dark and dank inside, and it's a little disorienting walking inside because you feel like you stepped into a different realm. And then, when you emerge after having your little drink, you're punted back out into the real world and blinded by the natural light of day.

But while you're inside, Red Lion feels like a cozy little den. They have video games that you can play from the bar (Mario), and sports on the TVs and music playing. There are booths and tables, but also a long bar where you can sit and think, and is underlit with a red light. I saw some people around me eating, but I was only there for a drink, so I didn't even look at the food menu.

The servers were nice and efficient, and the beer I got was cold and local. This is a good spot to pop in and get a cheeky drink, if you're in the mood like I was.

Have you been to Red Lion? Why not? They're delicious! Come on these guys would get a 5 star just for having elephant ears! Which by the way are served piping hot and sprinkle in cinnamon deliciousness.
Red Lion is located on the main strip in Fountain Square. It really is like (or what I would guess) walking into a British pub. With the old feel of the Murphy's building and the wooden bar area. I got the ol Indiana favorite - breaded tenderloin but they also have London staples like bangers n mash and Shepards pie.
There is certainly going to be something for everyone in your party to find.

New owners alert!! I hadn't been here in years since I came for the deep
Fried burger. I was so excited to return and try so many different menu items. The loaded tots were so so good, along with the wings (boneless creamy garlic and bone in hot) their homemade ranch was best of the best for sure. I got the fish and chicken combo which I enjoyed and they had some unique dessert items, elephant ear and bread pudding. I got to speak with the owners and they were excited to share all they've put into the restaurant as well as future i

Very cool and laid back atmosphere. The food was very traditional and had to try the Lancaster Hot Pot just from the description on the menu!
Pan seared and slow braised chuck roast with onions, carrots, and celery on a bed of creamy garlic mashed potatoes and onion crisps. Holy shit this hit the spot! If you look up comfort food in the dictionary, you would see a picture of this! Every bite was something different and just made you feel at home!

Feeling like a bit of British cuisine we suggested this spot for a meet up with friends. They also have the added bonus of half-priced appetizers if you arrive between 4-6. Yay! We love a good deal especially if it is delicious!

There are several tables near the door as well as tables lining the wall as the space is long and narrow. It doesn't feel crossed though but more cozy and friendly. Our server was helpful and nice and kept bringing us drinks even after we paid our bill (which is one of the things I often notice as a personal sign of good customer service).

The menu is varied with some standard pub type options but with a British twist. We had their fries and fried pickle chips which were excellent. We got the curry sauce as well as some Barbeque sauces which paired perfectly. And I have to say the portions were large and more than expected, we even had enough to share with our friends!

The various entrees were flavorful and tasty and not a bite was left of anything by the time we had looked up from our plates. It is very hearty fare so don't think salads and veggies but more things you eat on a cold night when wanting to be warm and cozy. But delicious!

We have enjoyed this spot before and will again, so if you haven't tried it it is worth the effort. Plus they do have a great vegan house made burger that my husband says is well worth the trip.

I visited here a few months ago with my sister for a quick bite to eat. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered a classic fish and chips which was delicious. I love the space and how it never gets crowded. They offer trivia nights on occasion which is super fun to participate in.

The food here is delicious. The macaroni and cheese tasted made from scratch. There was ample cheese, the shrimp were great and spicy but not too spicy. The burger was great but the coleslaw was a little sweet and dry. We also got the chips and curry as a starter, the spicy one. It was so good we ate it before we could take a picture.
We will be going back for drinks next time.
