I have had our system for eight years and it works wonderfully. There is annual maintenance costs as well as the cost of keeping salt in the softener system but have not had any issues with this company. Replacing the membranes and carbon filters are pricey too so be sure to budget for that, but my system is working great.

So we bought a washer at HomeDepot after we got it delivered a guy called thanking us for buying a washer and if we wanted to get our water tested FOR FREE. so we accepted thinking Home depot wanted the tests as a survey of some sort. Anyway RainSoft salesman came VERY PROFESSIONAL and friendly. He tested our water and it was hard and had chlorine and what not. After all the testing he pulls out the paperwork with prices on water filtering systems rainsoft has, ranging from $5,999-$7,999 which to us is alot of money. We said no but salesman INSISTED and INSISTED almost like if we had to pick a system. Felt very uncomfortable after like the 5th time. I understand its hes job as a salesman but WE WERE NOT AWARE THAT A COMPANY WAS GOING TO COME AND TEST OUR WATER WITH INTENTIONS TO SALE US A SYSTEM. PLEASE RAINSOFT ADVISE AND MAKE IT CLEAR.

Anyway we actually bought a similar system to their "premium" package at home depot for about $900 with warranty all well known brands including tubing, hardware and accessories.

When you sign up for this service its very quick and the people that hooked up the water softener unit was very knowledgeable.. My complaint is when you need to order replacement filters you HAVE to call a representative. Of course the hours of 9-5 on business days when I do not have time to call. I've inquired if I can just order them online because my husband can replace them. NOPE, have to call. I hate this company for this reason. I still haven't been able to get replacement filters and would love to have them remove the system. Looking back I would have just bought one at Home Depot or something so that I can get the parts when I need them. NOT recommended.

I had given consent for a water test over the phone, then a few days later a man comes to my house late it was about 8pm and tested my water. Then he pressured me in signing the contract and I called the company and told them I could not afford the payments because it was not what the sales person quoted to me, and they said it was too late I already signed the contract. Overall, this company now has me in collections.

Rainsolf rip me off. I purchased the gold water treatment system from them for 5000 dollars and it never work. I call them so many time to come back to rerouting my water line they never did. They rout my water to my lown besides to the house. I also call bbb report rainsolf ripping me off they also ignore me. As my experience please when you purchase a house don't talk to rainsolf or any water treatment they will try do anything to get your money. Please stay away from them and keep your money in safe place.

I would give a negative number if I could. We have a commercial water cleaning system (8K) we purchased from this company 8 years ago. Since then, they are the only company to come out and service the system. Five months ago, a technician came out and after he left, suddenly, the system was broken. I called to tell them that the salt in the tank has not gone down (when I was going to refill it-which I normally do every 4-5 months with new bags), the salt level was still at the top. They told me I only had 30 days to have someone come back out. Otherwise they charge me. This system is in my garage. I would NEVER know if this wasn't working. I work, have children and have a life. How would anyone know if the system isn't working. The lady said "well, maybe you would notice water spots." Please... So, now they are charging me for another man to come fix what the other guy broke because I didn't notice water spots. (Which i didn't, so it makes me wonder what exactly this system does at all).

Obviously the system was working before the technician came out (no notes that anything was wrong with the system-never said anything to me). The same technician came out and asked me for the manual so he could fix it. He said he didn't really understand this commercial type of system and needed to go back and research it. They obviously did not charge for this service because the technician was not able to do anything. I have spent a lot of time on the phone with two separate women and have been treated so poorly and unprofessionally. I have requested numerous times for the owner to contact me. They keep telling me he is on vacation. Last week they told me he would be back on Monday and call me. He never called me, so I called today (Tuesday) and was told he was on vacation again. The last representative hung up the phone on me.

I also now understand that they lied when we first went to them for a system. There is NO possible way we needed a commercial sized unit in our residential house. They lied and told us this is the size we needed. I now understand from the technician that no residential houses have this enormous unit. Definitely over sold and lied to. I plan to file in small claims against this company. I already filed with the BBB. Don't use this company. Don't buy from them and don't get talked into any system.

      First to Review

When at Home Depot a couple of weeks ago, an employee asked if I would allow someone to test my water. I said yes, but I had no idea that a company wanted to sell me a product or that it would take an hour and 45 minutes of my time. I felt that this was not forthcoming. The Rainsoft sales rep was very kind and professional, but Rainsoft makes their reps wait until the very end of their presentation to disclose prices and interest rates. Rainsoft is selling products ranging from $1,500 to $8,000, and the reps try to get you to make an impulsive decision by providing discounts if you make a quick decision. What surprised me the most was that they offered interest rates that started at 17.99% for people with excellent credit. If the sales rep would've disclosed this earlier, I would've saved everybody time by letting him know that I would never be interested in such a deal. I was disappointed that this wasn't presented to me as a sales pitch in advance by Home Depot or the Rainsoft rep that called to make the appointment. I thought that this was for market research of some sort. Rainsoft needs to make their presentations shorter (less of an inconvenience) and provide much better interest rates for financing. In addition, the free cleaning products (including soaps and shampoos) that they offer customers is not much of a draw. People like to use the products they are familiar with already; Rainsoft should just further discount their products instead of offering this. It seems gimmicky.

I bought a system from rainsoft through one of their sales rep at home depot. The system which included one unit for filtering drinking water and another for the whole house which cost me $6K and it was supposed to last a lifetime. I believe I overpaid them by about $3000 for this system. The whole house unit appears to be in working order but the drinking water unit installed at the kitchen sink is no longer filtering water. When new, we were able to dispense 2 gallons of water from the tank but as of last year, it went down to 1 gallon and then 1/2 gallon until this month. Now, it is completely out of order. The tank no longer stores water and its water spout drizzles with water uncontrollably with no way to switch it off. I read the warranty and it's said "Limited lifetime warranty" and not the lifetime warranty I was made to believe. This limited warranty only lasted 2 years max and we just went over it for only a few months. I would never buy or recommend rainsoft to anyone again.
