The receptionist was great so I anticipated a great experience. A man and woman showed up to fix my fridge and air conditioner - one repair guy and one "translation" woman. They were polite and friendly but neither could speak English very well, which is a problem when you're trying to understand the breakdown of charges for a repair. They charged me about $500 to fix the motor in my fridge and wanted to charge me another $500 to (at least what I could make out) change the freon in my AC. I paid the $500 for the fridge (I could wait on the AC) not knowing any better but desperate for a working fridge (even though I was not very confident the repair man had much expertise). The repairman didn't have the part so promised to come back the next day. The next day, he never shows up. When I call him, he apologizes and rushes over - I guess he forgot to come. For about a few months later, my fridge is fine but then stops getting cold again. My friend then recommends another repair company -- Peninsula Appliance Repair. I called them, and a wonderful guy named Frank came out to fix the real problem - which had to do with the defroster. He speaks English and seems to have a lot of expertise. Plus, he only charged me $145 for parts + labor. I would highly recommend going with Peninsula instead (look them up in Yelp). The only unfortunate thing is he doesn't fix air conditioners.

We had an excellent experience with Quick Appliance. Our refrigerator wasn't cold anymore and I called them at 9 AM. They sent a team of two people out here at 11 AM, quickly ID'd the problem, and solved it. They had the right parts with them (it turned out it was a faulty defrost thermometer) and installed them with no hassle. Our food didn't even have time to get really cold.
I would strongly recommend these guys. They were A+ in my book.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Spicy O.Sunnyvale, CA1101Jul 8, 2007First to Review
It is such a rarity to find service worth bragging about, but the service provided by Quick Appliance Repair was truly five star. The dispatcher was personable and helpful, an unexpected treat right from the start. Their service appointment times are flexible...priceless for working families. Our repairman showed up right on time, just a few minutes after I arrived from home work. The problem was diagnosed quickly, an estimate was written up and the repair was completed without needing to schedule a second visit.
From start to finish, our appointment lasted less than an hour. No mess left behind...unlike other repair services we have used. The repair was affordable. The service man was nice and clean-cut. I will use their service again, whenever needed, and would highly recommend Quick Appliance Repair to all my friends and family.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Suzzana F.Half Moon Bay, CA25211Oct 31, 2008
They were friendly and arrived within an hour, yea! They charge labor by the job rather than hour (this can be good or bad). My fridge works but the freezer doesn't get cold enough. I was told that the driver needs to be replaced which pushes the freon through the system along with putting new freon in there. $250 for labor no matter how much time and $200 for parts. Seems really expensive, but I'm desparate.

This place is a rip off. They charged me $200 to replace a hose. If they can replace the hose without any trouble then fine charge me $200 but the stupid thing was, the repair person, I believe his name is Bryant, didn't know what he was doing and broke a plastic elbow that connected the hoses. Then he didn't have the part and made me wait 2 days. When he came back he didn't have the correct part again and realized that he always had the correct part in his van. Then he broke the handle on my washer. What an idiot. All this and my washer was down for 2 days. Don't use this place, they do not know how to treat customers and most of all they do not know what they are doing.

My wife called quick appliance and could not get an appt that day. The person made an appt for the next day, and gave a time range. They were late for their appointment. They charged $230 to "fix" a dryer that was was making noise and would not start. $47 for a small plastic part which they called a rear bearing. After they left, the dryer was spinning and making less noise, but later in the day it resumed making noise and then later stopped and would not start. They said they could come back and replace motor and front seal to really fix it, for additional money. No thanks! I've had enough. Time for a new repair service, will not use again.
