Delicious dim sum spot for date night or with friends! We found this place on yelp as a recommended asian dining spot and it definitely did not disappoint.
My bf got the gold digger cocktail which was delicious, and for food we ordered the Qi Soup Dumplings, Basil Chicken Dumplings, Pan Fried Beef Bao, and Hot n Sour Soup. Everything came out piping hot and was really yummy. This place puts a twist on traditional dim sum in a good way! I liked the unique flavors and appreciated the fusion -- just noting this as a heads up so you don't go into the meal thinking it will be a traditional experience.
Our waitress was super kind and also brought out the Mushroom Chicken Sui Mai, which were also incredibly moist and fabulous. Overall I would definitely recommend this spot!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Best Mai Tai ever. The Xao Long Bao soup dumplings and the shrimp stuffed eggplant were very good. The BBQ pork buns were standard issue, but what's not to love. The bok choy was outstanding. The service was better than average. They have indoor and outdoor seating. But even if you sit outside, snack or the interior decor and the bar. Amazing!
We were spoiled on great dim sum in California. It's good to know we can still find classic dim sum in Texas.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

You know that place that's been on your list to try and you go with meh expectations and take no photos, yep this is it.
I've been wanting to try Qi and let's be honest there are so many restaurants in Austin that it just never happened. It was a group date night and they wanted Asian food, so let's make reservations.
This was an absolute win!! Ample parking garages in the area to start and an overall great location.
Food:
Soup Dumplings - 10/10 I'm still dreaming of the amazing dumplings that I couldn't wait to devour so burned the h&@@ out of my mouth - BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!
Lobster Dumplings - 5/10 - I'd skip, didn't love the taste
Potstickers - 7/10 great presentation
Truffle Rice - 8/10
Egg rolls - 7/10
Hakka veggie noodles - 10/10 so many delicious veggies and so much flavor
Seafood Delight - 7/10 basically it's a seafood curry that paired great with the truffle rice
Asian Fried Chicken - 5/10 if you're looking for a battered fried chicken, this ain't it. Think crispy unbreaded chicken that could use a sauce or two
Overall, great experience. Great atmosphere. Great cocktails. And great company. I'll be back!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I am unsure as to a review of Qi as a vegan. Nothing is marked vegan on the menu, although our waitress said there were a few things that could be made vegan. We were told the fried & steamed dumplings, scallion pancake, and tofu/rice dish were all vegan, but Im just not sure as our waitress seemed a bit confused at times would really be nice to mark items as vegan on the menu, especially for allergy sensitivities. I did think everything was delicious though and very creative.

Wow! What a phenomenal experience. This place gets all the stars. Elevated, flavorful, and memorable. All our dishes hit the spot! I will be coming back and trying more! I was hesitant about ordering the truffle fried rice because of all the mixed reviews so I was glad I loved it.
Service was friendly and attentive and I loved all the decor and mood lighting inside. They have a great big patio facing 6th street for people watching!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Wow!!!!!! Amazing food, amazing restaurant, wonderful service, what more could one hope for? I loved all the dim sum-- their soup dumplings were phenomenal and their hot and sour soup AMAZING. The dessert was a little small and overly decadently artsy for my normal taste, but it was perfect after all the food (may just try a different one next time--I'm sure everything is good)!

We came for brunch and had put in reservations prior to. As for parking, you can park in the garage that's attached to the building. Qi customers can park on level 4 for free. Just take the elevator down to the restaurant.
We ordered an assortment of dim sum: soup dumplings, sautéed bok choy, salt and pepper shrimp, spare ribs, shrimp har kaw, pork and shrimp sui mai, chicken taro egg roll, and sesame ball. My favorites were the salt and pepper shrimp, spare ribs, shrimp har kaw, and pork and shrimp sui mai. I didn't really care for the other stuff we got. Their dumplings are pretty big in size. I've never seen dumplings that big before.
We also ordered truffle egg fried rice from the regular lunch menu. We didn't get extra truffles added but it an option for an additional cost. The fried rice was good. The truffle wasn't too overwhelming and you could still taste the flavor of the fried rice it self.
If you want to experience modern/kinda bougie, higher than average priced, no cart dim sum, Qi is the place. I will say the dumplings being big were nice. I was looking around at other dishes that people ordered from the regular lunch menu and those looked/smelled good too.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Solid dishes in a more fancy restaurant setting. I am someone who would rather go to a mom & pop shop with dirty squeaky floor and a huge menu Chinese restaurant in Chinatown.
Austin doesnt have that. Austin has fusion and semi fancy cultural restaurant. I was skeptical even though I have tried Lin and doesn't dislike them.
We ordered original and crab soup dumplings - filling was nice and soupy, flavorful. The wrap is not thick at all. Also had the imperial tofu dish which was good - not sure what the flavor combo was behind it as I have not had it before.
The pork stir fry was bamboo shoot was another great addition. I like the fact that they dont drown their food in MSG, I'm very sensitive with that and can detect it right away but they dont do that here. Ambiance is nice, they have a bar with some cocktails selection. Service was def better than your Chinatown restaurants, very attentive.
Price is $$$ but worth it for a big date night or celebration occasion. Would recommend reserve beforehand.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information
