Went here for the first time to celebrate my birthday and was amazed with the food. The food is DELICIOUS, the service was great and ambiance tasteful. Go for the whole experience and try a bourbon cocktail and one of the amazing desserts. Definitely a gem of a restaurant and look forward to returning
My only criticism is that while the serving staff were great do not expect a warm welcome from the hostess. From the time we arrived until we left any encounter with her was icy. Do not let this deter you though - the food is worth the visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Wally G.San Francisco, CA01Mar 31, 2024
Got lucky with a last minute reservation for dinner recently. We had the best restaurant dinner we have had in years!! One fish special and one beef menu item. So much flavor! Also had so many bourbons to try from, it was great. Service was very friendly and good! Ambiance was nice but there was a large party there that was extremely loud but that is not the restaurant fault. We also had a dessert and that too was very good. Looking forward to going back.

The menu is up-styled southern without the grease and excessive carbs. I had the hot brown. It was absolutely delicious!!! However, these are prepared in advance so I had to have the ham with it. I don't care for country ham as it is too salty. But I was able to easily discard the pieces to the side. I sampled a bite of my friend's fried chicken and it justly received accolades in Southern Living magazine. Our husbands got the specials and were very pleased. The bread pudding (which we shared) was to die for.
Many of the restaurants in downtown Cincinnati are so loud that it is difficult to have a conversation. The ambiance is comfortable and décor is simple but awesome, and the place is pristine clean. It was perfect for meeting with a few friends and having great conversation over a great meal that is only minutes away from downtown, quite easy to get to, and with close FREE parking. The service was excellent!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Anya S.Denville, NJ19182Mar 31, 2024
Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in Manchester and PP was one of 3 meaningful meals we had on our trip. Service and food were excellent. Marking it down as a "must dine again" the next time we visit VT!

We had dinner with ten other friends here, and the meal was delicious! Both my hubby and I had the "Claim to Fame" fried chicken dinner. He also ordered the fried deviled eggs. These deviled eggs were amazing!! Never had anything like it, and you probably haven't either! You HAVE to try these (if you like deviled eggs). SO good! The fried chicken dinners were very good as well. The batter was crisp and the meat was juicy. What else can you ask for? Oh...the seasoning was perfect too! The chicken was the star of the plate. Yes, mashed potatoes and green beans were good...but the chicken!! Definitely make a reservation. This place was hopping on a Saturday night. The service was excellent as well :).

Wow this place is incredible. The fried chicken is among the best I've ever had. Not spicy but incredibly tasty. perfectly fried with really moist meat and crunchy batter. evenly coated. No broken skin just perfection. You get half a chicken. Way too much for just one meal.
The cocomut cake was amazing. OMG totally worth it from someone who doesn't really eat cake.
The chocolate chip biscuits are really like cupcakes. Lots of sugar and great complimentary item.
I opted for the fries instead of mashed. and decided I should have stuck with the mash potatoes.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Sep 18, 2023
We had a very good meal tonight and love the look of the restaurant so much more than when it was in Dayton, KY. Our service was okay - seems like the waitress kept disappearing for long periods of time and when we were there, the restaurant was not very crowded. We would definitely go back again.

Excellent food and service. We were a party of 10 and had one of the private dining rooms. The food was delicious and we had quite an assortment. Started with the Fried Deviled Eggs, Sweet Potato Beignets, Fried Green Tomato Pie Gratinée and "Blue Grass" Fondue. All of the were excellent! I had the "Claim to Fame" Fried Chicken Dinner and it was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Bourbon selection was one of the best around. This place is legit!!!

Beautiful location and building in Newport, KY. Great service and a wide variety menu. Our group enjoyed many dishes and made positive comments about their food.
Not many vegan options that didn't involve fried food. I finally settled on the faux chicken dish and requested that the faux chicken not be served just leaving the rice and sauce. It was ok.
I don't recommend the praline nuts. They were soft and not crunchy as would be expected. Our group of six didn't finish them.
The wine list was good and we ordered a couple bottles of red to enjoy with our meal. Overall, a nice evening out. Hoping they expand their vegan options.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sharon K.Orange, TX012Nov 14, 2023
Great food and lovely atmosphere in an old mansion. Beautiful bar with a huge selection of bourbons.
The service was great. Reservations are suggested as the space is limited.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
