In my hunt for the perfect yoga studio, Purple Moon has been by far my favorite (and there have been many). Most yoga studios have their unique charm and value that works for someone - Purple Moon is that balance of the elements that I want in my practice.

First off, it really offers the perfect balance of the physical and spiritual values of yoga. Some studios offer really hard physical classes but seem to focus on yoga as an exercise rather than a journey, and others focus on the meditative aspects without really improving your physical self. Purple Moon is a balance of both - the classes are going to get your body sweating and they are going to build your strength/flexibility, but they also offer a meditative oasis and spiritual connection to the space.

Also, it's a super inviting and welcoming space. It has full classes, but still small enough to feel personal. You're able to challenge your practice but still feel comfortable with where you're at (some spaces are way too intimidating).

By far, it's also my favorite designed yoga studio. The quotes, purple, color patterns, and decor all make it feel comforting, inspiring, and relaxing to be in there in general.

Overall, many studios offer great elements but Purple Moon is the first place I've been that truly offers a balance of them all.

I won't do yoga anywhere else... the owners are amazing humans.

Every instructor is wonderful and makes everyone feel welcome.

The vibe here is truly "this is for all levels, old and young, new and experienced".

Heather and Steve's classes are my fav and never disappoint.

Coming here is better than the neighborhood bar, and just as friendly and comfy.

I was nervous to try hot yoga but I have been wanting to come here for years and finally did! The owner was so friendly and the other instructor I met was also. Very welcoming to a newbie. I really enjoyed the class and it was an amazing feeling during and after. I look forward to coming to more classes here. You do get very hot and sweat a ton but I enjoyed that! Felt like a great workout but also calming and peaceful.

Absolutely in love with this studio. I love the vibe how welcoming the instructors are, always so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this studio especially first timers. You will benefit not just from the work out but from within. You will walk out feeling 100 times better then how you felt walking in.

      L-O-V-E!

I came here a couple times while I was taking classes at Sierra CC, and by far, it has been my favorite studio to practice. I only had Heather as my instructor, and she was so sweet and helpful.

It was never too crowded when I went, and I always, always came out of class feeling amazing. Nothing will transform or stretch your muscles like hot yoga, and this studio is just a great place to do so. :) You work such different, small muscles with their sequences. It was very new and exciting for me.

I will definitely be back when I'm in town!

I've only been to Purple Moon 3 times. I've never attended a yoga class before. I was a bit nervous especially since it was a hot yoga class. First class I attended was awesome! It was hard, not gonna lie, I was sweating in places I've never sweated before and some of the poses were hard for me, but I felt so good after. The instructor was encouraging and gave me options for those poses I couldn't do. Also, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I'm hooked and hope to continue practicing and make it a part of my life.

Ok, I feel like I have found my hot yoga home. I had tried hot yoga at other studios before, but I don't think that I ever fully enjoyed the experience: it seemed more like a chore to go to a class than enjoyable and relaxing. That all changed when I came to Purple Moon. From the second that I walked in the door and was greeted by the owner and a few of the instructors, I felt a sort of ease. They were all some of the kindest individuals that I had ever met. Heather, the owner, was so nice and energetic and extremely personable. Jeannie, the instructor for the class that I took came out and introduced herself and showed me where to put my belongings away and walked with me into the studio.

The studio itself is SO much better than any other hot yoga studio that I had been to. It had wood floors, which if you have been to a studio with the berber carpet then you know that carpet holds every rank smell and also makes the room seem hotter. The studio also had dim lights, ceiling fans that provide a little relief from the heat, and this studio plays music during the session, which is a nice change from the silence I had experienced at other locations.

The class that I did was Warm Vinyasa with Jeannie on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. I loved it! Seriously, one class and I am hooked. The class starts out with some stretching and then you move into the sequence and end with stretching poses. Jeannie was so nice and made the class very fun. She laughs a little during the class, walks around frequently and helps with the positions. Jeannie also encourages you to not over extend yourself with any of the movements or poses; Only do as much as your personal comfort zone allows. The class seemed to have flown by. I could not believe that an hour and a half had passed in what seemed like 30 minutes.

I am hooked on this place and have already booked my next two classes. I cannot wait to come back for my next one in a few days.

I am a complete and total yoga newbie and I was really nervous about finding a place to go that wasn't intimidating, especially after I had read some reviews and heard first hand stories about some of the Bikram places around E. Roseville / G.B. After reading the reviews for Purple Moon I decided to give it a shot and I'm SO SO glad I did. I've only taken the Hot Passion classes with Heather - this is the class they recommend for the new kids - but I love it ! Hot Passion is very hot, but I can't imagine doing these poses without the heat. You will find yourself bending and stretching in ways that you couldn't have imagined before. Plus you sweat out all the excess water and yucky stuff floating around in your system.

Heather is so laid back, so supportive and made me feel completely at ease. She's fantastic! Not an intimidating bone in her body. She is helpful and encouraging. The classes are challenging but also really relaxing. At the end of one class she put lavender eye masks on everyone. This overrun Mama was in heaven. The studio is clean and dim.

I'm loving yoga, and cannot recommend Heather and Purple Moon enough! Also, the prices are a bit better than most of the studios in town. And a great 20 days for $20 deal for new students.
