About a month ago, I visited Project Parlor with a couple of coworkers for post-workday drinks. At that time, it was still warm enough to chill in the backyard patio at one of their picnic-style tables. It wasn't crowded - probably because it was a weeknight - but there were a few other groups seated outside with us.
The cocktail selection is fairly limited, with only four drinks on the menu, but there are plenty of beer and wine options, enough for everyone to find something they like. I chose the Parlor 75 Cocktail, a mixture of Prosecco, pear cognac, and lemon juice. They went a bit heavy on the Prosecco, but overall, it was tart and refreshing. It reminded me of drinking lemonade on a breezy summer evening.
I'd mostly recommend Project Parlor for the backyard's ambience. The drinks are good, but not very memorable.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Chris R.Brooklyn, NY3877Oct 18, 2020
Horrified by what we experienced tonight. Apparently, someone who is considered a regular walked right up to our diverse table of patrons, exposed themselves, called us all "F" and "N" words and then proceeded to grab my partner and physically assault him while shouting profanities. When we alerted management, the owner of Project Parlor spoke with the person and their crew before coming to us and letting us know "they will be finishing their meal and leaving soon." We demanded the person be kicked out and to be given our credit cards back. We then watched the owner hug the person who attacked us goodbye. When we demanded our cards back, he said he would give us one round on the house, which we obviously found unacceptable. When I said "I can't believe this is happening," he shrugged and replied: "We're all doomed."
I don't write reviews often so please take this seriously. Do NOT spend your money here if you care about diversity and inclusion. Management has no backbone to protect their patrons, in the middle of a pandemic and during these unprecedented times. Despicable.Helpful 16Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Pragmatic J.Mount Hope, KS03Aug 15, 2022
Used to go here a lot. Had good prices. Had a sick backyard. And they used to have this super hot tatted bartender with bangs named Corey. Came back Friday. Very disappointed to learn she doesn't work there anymore. And prices went up. Still got the backyard tho.

Project Parlor is an awesome bar. I didn't plan it, but I was lucky enough to stop in when they were doing their Black History Month performance night (with the very awesome name Vantablack). Lots of very talented musicians, poets, and other performance artists (including one of the bartenders who was awesome performing under the name SunSon!).
The space is super chill, with a hodgepodge of mismatched couches, a backroom with a pinball machine and other goodies. And of course, a pretty sizable backyard.
They also run some good happy hour deals (like 2 for 1 drafts!), but they also have some good bottle beers as well.
Bartenders are awesome. Project Parlor is great.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 27, 2016
Ooh I liked it here.
We were lured from a neighboring patio by the music late in the afternoon. We found a whole backyard type set up, with a DJ playing great (although a little "my throat is raw from yelling over the sound" loud) music, cute dogs of customers, and a huge BBQ going selling okra, sausage links, crawfish and corn on the cob.
And you gotta love a place that has an absinthe menu. Although its margarita sipping weather so I did not indulge. My margarita was yummy and strong tho!
Im a fan! Almost makes the ride on the G train bareable.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Linh N.New York, NY7115042Jul 29, 2020
For $5, their fried chicken sandwich from a pop-up in the backyard is pretty dank.
Drinks are good and plenty strong. Bartenders are chill. Wish they had a fan running in the backyard tho. It can get surprisingly stuffy back there on a hot summer night.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephen F.Athens, GA443Oct 19, 2020
My team of explorers landed here after a squall. We had to scuttle the HMS Phineas Craine after taking what we could carry from the cargo hold. Surviving dangers untold, we ventured into this business for warmth and shelter, as well to take care of our skipper Mr Screamin' Phineas Craine. His toes had a crisis of the most fire kind: thrashing madly, demanding Aquafina. A strange, maddening craving for salt. They were relocated to the toilet bowl. I requested a gin and tonic. The bartender slapped me and assured me that it was only the wind that was driving me mad. Pretty decent pour.

Friendly staff and patrons, delicious cocktails, decent beer selection, and cool pop ups and djs.

This place is now like family; bartenders are all equally accommodating even when super busy. I'm more patient than others so if you are coming in to order a drink in a rush because you have to drive your pregnant wife to the hospital, this probably isn't the best place to stop on a Friday or Saturday night at 11 pm. If it's Happy Hour (buy one get one wine and draft beer), you can probably pull it off with no waiting!
Best backyard in the area, the customer-base is neighborhoody, tight, and inclusive.
Plus, they have popcorn.
4 stars until you bring Chockie back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Milton P.SoMa, San Francisco, CA02Jul 9, 2021
