They do a pretty good job of discounting foods which is helpful being on a budget. However every time I get a seafood item and use it within a few days it smells and or tastes off and that is a waste of time and money so only three stars today.

Normally I wouldn't care about the liquor law on Sunday, however there is a Chiefs game today at 8:30 am. We have many friends and family over for the game.
A quick trip to the Price Cutter in Republic Missouri at 8am turned into another trip to Wal-Mart across the street where they were happy to sell liquor.
Year 2021
"Under a new law approved by the legislature in the spring, businesses can sell liquor beginning at 6 a.m. on Sundays until 1:30 a.m., aligning the day with the hours in place for sales during the rest of week."
Apparently, the Republic Price Cutter is above the law.
They are the only business in town that has opted not to follow the law regarding liquor sales.
Normally I wouldn't go out of my way to post a review however I decided to call the store to inform them of the law which was met with a less than professional response.
Per the associate (Ann) "It doesn't matter, Price Cutter does not sell liquor before 9am". She additionally said it was a "county thing" which is completely incorrect. She said, "If Wal-Mart wants to sell liquor before 9am that's their business".Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mr. B.Springfield, MO012927Aug 10, 2023Updated review
The prices are a bit high but the quality of goods justifies it. I'm not super impressed with the employees though. Seem to be a lot of management types just standing around with their arms folded staring at everybody. The cashiers can't stop chatting amongst themselves. They could do better.

The prices are a little high but I can live with that if it's what I need and it can't be had elsewhere cheaper. The biggest problem is the staff and clientele. Everybody seems to act like they're a couple of steps above everybody else. I don't like that at all. I like a place where everyone can feel welcome. I just think we can do better.

It's a pretty nice place. We don't go there a whole lot but sometimes Walmart just doesn't have what you need. I do recommend it as far as a place to shop but it's not necessarily always going to be the cheapest place in town.

Meat was all brown and looked dried out. Bakery was empty. Produce was high priced. The sign outside said one sale and inside it was another price. Plenty of people working. Cashier was ok not rude but not nice.

I like some of the natural foods they offer, but I have had a recurring problem there. Their credit/debit card machines hate any card that I use. I tried to use my debit card last night (plenty of funds available) and it timed-out twice before I could even enter a PIN. A credit card also had an error before that one finally worked.

Consistently quality meats. Good selection of most of our grocery needs. Some things, like specialty vegetables we have go go to WM.
