My husband and I moved into Polaris Place two years ago. When we first saw the apartments, we immediately fell in love! The open concept and updated kitchens are AMAZING! We ended up getting an apartment off of Antar Place (located in the back by the garages). We loved the privacy that this location offered. Our first year was absolutely amazing! We had a few issues with the maintenance man, but these issues were cleared up. One night, the fire alarms started going off around 3am and we did not want to take the batteries out. We called the emergency maintenance number and were told (by our maintenance man) that it was an "inconvenience" and we owed him a cigarette because we woke him up. The maintenance man then proceeded to take the batteries out of the smoke alarm and left. We later found out that it is illegal to take batteries out when you live in an apartment. He came back the next day and replaced them.

We found out our second year that there was a change in property managers. This happens all of the time, so we assumed that it would be okay. This is when everything started to go downhill. There were times when I would submit maintenance requests and would not even hear back for a few days. When I would call the office, there would either be no answer, or I would be told that maintenance was busy. There is an emergency hotline that residents can call, but you must meet the list of "emergencies" in order to get through to anyone.

When you contact the property manager about issues that you have with other residents, it goes ignored. These aren't petty issues either. I was chased back to my apartment by another resident, who I would say was very aggressive in his manner of approaching me. Instead of immediately calling the police, I called the office to let them know and was told that I needed to call the cops (which I totally understand). I received a call a few days later and was told (by Candy) that they figured out who was chasing residents and confronted him over the phone. This resident was upset because other residents were not picking up after their animals. In our two years that we were at Polaris Place, we experienced this issue as well. It is an inconvenience when other residents do not pick up after their animals, but it is not a reason to assume that every single person is doing it. It also does not give people the right to chase other residents back to their apartment and proceed to stand outside of their door. I felt unsafe in my own residence. This particular resident was seen multiple times outside my apartment and looking into my windows.

To follow up on the dog poop... we would often receive passive aggressive emails regarding things that were happening in the community. We receive one in regards to the "dog poop issue" and were told that we had a few weeks to bring our dog in for a DNA swab. Polaris Place now uses pooprints, which means you will be charged for leaving your dogs feces on the ground. We were ready to comply with this until they told us that we needed to go outside and remove all feces from the grounds due to the fact that it could potentially be tested and we could be fined. As a full time employee and full time student (and due to the fact that we were moving out in a few weeks), I made the decision to contact the property manager and refuse. It wasn't until I pointed out that I had an attorney who told me that they could not force something outside of our lease that Candy told me that I did not need to have my dog swabbed. Had they sat us down and asked to change our lease, we would have probably complied, but we were told that we were "forced" to comply or else we would be charged an additional fee.

When we rented prior to Polaris Place, we ALWAYS did the walk through with the property manager to assess and talk about any damages or charges. My husband called and spoke to Stephanie about setting up an appointment since we were moving out a few weeks early due to a trip that we had scheduled at the end of the month. We scheduled an appointment and ensured that we had enough time to clean the carpets and patch holes from pictures. When we showed up to our apartment for the scheduled walk through, Candy did not show up. I called the office and was told that it is not common for the property manager to complete a walkthrough with the residents. When I questioned this, I was told that I needed to stop raising my voice and was hung up on by Candy. Yes, I raised my voice - but only because I had better things to do than getting off of my 12 hour shift and being stood up by a property manager that was supposed to complete a walk through. The main reason why Candy "could not" complete the walk through was because she had "potential residents" that wanted to see an apartment. These people are amazing when they want your money, but could care less when you are actually a manager.

Don't be fooled by the positive reviews. They aren't from actual residents.

      I would give 0 if i could.

      1) price here is outrageous.... Shouldn't pay 1k for a 1 bedroom the size of a dorm

      2) my car has been broken into twice now within 2 month and the complex does not care, nor do they want to warn other residents about this.

      3) the community itself has just diminished since allowing section 8.

All in all, it looks shiny... it's not. Don't move in.

Great place to call home!! We love living in the middle of a city with unlimited things to do. We uber just about anywhere for under $5.00. Grubhub delivers from almost any restaurant for only a few bucks.

Some days we stay home to relax in our quiet apartment. Other days we are out in the community relaxing in the heated pool, working out in the fitness center, playing pool, or grilling outside on the lovely patio. Endless things to do!!

Excellent staff and always responds in a timely manner, super clean property/lobby. The pool, gym and dog park are a plus! I love the location as well. Definitely would recommend friends/family! I have yet to have any issues and will continue to rent from Polaris place apartments!

A well constructed and well kept apartment complex. The work orders to get items fixed are done in a timely manner and the staff is understanding of your needs and concerns. The place is also in a well situated location making everything very accessible.

I was considering these apartments for my next move, however after visiting the pool today with a resident I have changed my mind. The staff is extremely rude. They made me feel incredibly unwelcome and treated myself and our friends terribly. I will be letting everyone I know what a terrible staff they have on duty.

This is a very badly managed complex. The apartment walls are built cheap , you can hear everything from the unit above you. The management has recently changed for worse and their attitude towards any complains are like " you signed the lease so you have to deal with it" . There is no helping out to resolve any issues here. Please think twice before you sign the lease here because there are better apartments in the area that has better management and better service to the residents.

MOLD inside walls. We reported it and instead of trying to help us they were building a case to blame us. Run and don't spend another minute. Legally trapped in a place that is making us sick. Still hearing it is true and the problem is so bad that the employees leave.

I haven't had any major issues here. The grounds are nice and the people are friendly. The noise level is bad, as previous people have indicated, but luckily I have really quiet neighbors above me. I can imagine being miserable if they were loud though, as I routinely hear their conversations. I recommend a 2-bedroom apartment to mitigate the noise level. Otherwise, no issues for me.
